Frequently Asked Questions - RBS 6014 Kärcher

What type of vehicle can be washed with the Kärcher RBS 6014?
The RBS 6014 is designed for brush washing of buses, transporters, trucks, trucks with trailer and semi-trailers. The side walls must be straight and smooth, with an inclination of less than 10°.
What are the essential safety precautions?
Before any use, read the manual. The installation must only be operated by trained personnel aged at least 18 years. In an emergency, release the brush safety switch. Never direct a water jet at electrical parts. Wear appropriate protective equipment when handling detergents.
How to correctly install the splash guard?
Attach the angle profiles to the frame using the provided rivets. The convex part of the protective strips must be directed away from the brush. Drive the rivets into the profile, the guard and the square tube, then hammer in the dowel.
How to adjust the detergent dosing pump?
Turn the rotary knob while the pump is running. The displayed percentage corresponds to the maximum pump power (e.g., 100% = 80 ml/min). For versions without a dosing pump, a mounting kit is available as an accessory.
What is the recommended washing procedure?
Park the vehicle in the center, adjust the inclination with the crank, open the shut-off valve of the nozzle tube, turn on the power, activate the dosing pump, then pull the installation along the vehicle while holding the brush safety switch. For optimal results, the spacing rollers should barely touch the vehicle.
How to maintain the brushes?
Check the seating of the segments and the end clips quarterly. The brush diameter must be greater than 870 mm. To replace a brush, disassemble the half-shells in pairs, offsetting them by 90°, then mount the new ones respecting the orientation of the bristles.
What to do in case of frost?
Protect the water-carrying parts from frost. Turn off the water supply, purge with compressed air, then run the brush to eject residual water. The installation must not be used at ambient temperatures below +3 °C.
How to transport and store the installation?
For transport, remove the spacing rollers, tilt the installation toward the brush side with assistance, then push it onto the loading platform. For storage, lock the casters and protect the installation from tipping over (wind).
Where to find spare parts?
Use exclusively Kärcher original parts. A selection of the most common parts is listed at the end of the manual. For more information, visit the Service menu at www.kaercher.com.
Which detergents are allowed?
Only use detergents approved by Kärcher, such as RM 811. Flammable, explosive or solvent-containing products (gasoline, acetone, undiluted acids) are prohibited. Follow the product safety data sheets.

⚠ WARNING

Danger of accident! With semi-bowls, two different styles are used, which must never be mixed. Otherwise, the semi-bowls could come loose from the shaft during system operation. The two styles differ based on the location of the bushels at the end or start of the semi-bowl. In order to prevent imbalance and damages caused by this, the following points must be observed: The semi-bowls must always be replaced as sets, i.e. always as a whole segment. The bristle bushels must be offset to the opposite semi-bowls along the butt joint.

→ Place the first pair of semi-bowls on top of the shaft and slide them together.
→ Place the second pair of semi-bowls on top of the shaft rotated by 90° and slide them together.
→ Install the other semi-bowl pairs on the shaft offset by 90° each.
→ After installing the last semi-bowl pair, install the end clip.
→ Slide the end clip against the last semi-bowl pair and tighten screws.
→ Finally, recheck the proper installation of the semi-bowls and tight seating of the screws.
