The stated vibration emission value was measured in accord- ance with a standard testing procedure and may be used to compare one power tool to another. The stated vibration emission value may also be used for a preliminary exposure assess- ment.

Warning: The vibration

emission value may dif- fer during actual use of the power tool from the stated value depending on the man- ner in which the power tool is used. Try to keep the exposure to vi- brations as low as possible. An example of how to reduce vibration exposure is limiting the working hours. For this purpose all parts of the operating cycle have to be considered (for ex- ample, times when the electric tool is switched off and times when it is switched on but run- ning without any load). Charging time The device is part of the X20V TEAM series and can be opera- ted with batteries of the X 20 V TEAM series.33 GB MT Batteries of the X 20 V TEAM series may only be charged using chargers of the X20 V TEAM series. Read all safety notices, in- structions, illustra- tions and technical data that have been provided with this power tool. Omissions in the compliance with safety directions and in- structions can cause electrical shock, re and/or severe inju- ries. Retain all safety direc- tions and instructions for future use. The term „power tool“ in the warnings refers to your mains- operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool).

a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in explosive at- mospheres, such as in thepresenceofam- mable Iiquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. c) Keep children and by- standers away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2) ELECTRICAL SAFETY

a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (ground- ed) power tools. Un- modied plugs and match- ing outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body con- tact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, ra- diators, ranges and refrigerators. There is36 GB MT an increased risk of elec- tric shock if your body is earthed or grounded. c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water en- tering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. f) If operation of the power tool in a damp environment is una- voidable, please use a residual current circuit- ry. The use of a residual current circuitry reduces the risk of an electric shock.

a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the inuenceofdrugs,al- cohol or medication. A moment of inattention white operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. b) Use personal pro- tective equipment. Always wear eye pro- tection. Protective equip- ment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate condi- tions will reduce personal injuries. c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-po- sition before connect-37 GB MT ing to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your nger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may re- sult in personal injury. e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose cloth- ing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in mov- ing parts. g) If dust extraction and collection devices can be installed, make sure that these are connected and used correctly. Use of dust collection can reduce dust- related hazards. h) Do not allow yourself to be lulled into a false sense of security and do not disregard the safety rules for power tools, even if you are familiar with the power tool after using it many times. Careless action can lead to serious injuries within a fraction of a second.

AND CARE a) Do not force the pow- er tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.38 GB MT Any power tool that can- not be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. c) Remove the plug from the wall socket and/or remove the recharge- able battery before you change the de- vice’s settings, change accessory parts or put away the power tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool ac- cidentaIly. d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfa- miliar with the power tool or these instruc- tions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. e) Look after the power tool and application tool carefully. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may af- fect the power tool’s operation. If dam- aged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly main- tained power tools. f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Prop- erly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less Iikely to bind and are easier to con- trol. g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instruc- tions, taking into account the work- ing conditions and the work to be per- formed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situa- tion. h) Keep handles and grip surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and39 GB MT grease. Slippery handles and grip surfaces do not permit safe operation and control over the power tool in unexpected situations.

DEVICES a) Charge the batteries only in chargers that are recommended by the manufacturer. Risk of re if a charger that is suitable for a specic type of battery is used with other batteries. b) In the power tools, use only the batteries designed for the pur- pose. The use of other bat- teries may result in injuries and risk of re. c) Keep the unused battery away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal objects, which could cause bridging of the contacts. A short circuit between the battery con- tacts may cause burns or re. d) If used incorrectly, liq- uid may leak from the battery. Avoid contact with this. In the event of accidental contact, rinse off with water. If the liquid gets into eyes, seek medical assistance. Leaking battery uid may cause skin irritations or burns. e) Do not use damaged or altered batteries. Damaged or altered batter- ies can be unpredictable and lead to re, explosion or risk of injury. f) Do not expose batter- iestoreorelevated temperatures. Fire or temperatures over 130°C can cause an explosion. g) Follow all instruc- tions for charging and never charge the battery or the battery- powered tool outside the temperature range stated in the operating40 GB MT instructions. Incorrect charging or charging out- side the permitted tempera- ture range may destroy the battery and increase the risk of re.

a) Have your power tool servicedbyaqualied repair person using only identical replace- ment parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained. b) Never repair dam- aged batteries. All battery repairs should be carried out by the manu- facturer or authorised cus- tomer service centres only.
