auto car vacuum cleaner has been designed for light dry vacuum cleaning purposes. This appliance is powered from a car electrical system and connected by the cigarette lighter socket. This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Safety instructions

The use of any accessory or attachment or the performance of any operation with this appliance other than those recommended in this instruction manual may present a risk of personal injury. u Retain this manual for future refer- ence Using Your Appliance u Do not use the appliance to pick up liquids or any materials that could catch re. u Do not use the appliance near water.u Do not immerse the appliance in water.u Never pull the lead to disconnect the appliance from the socket. Keep the lead away from heat, oil and sharp edges. u This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge.

Children shall not play with the appliance. Clea ning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. u The appliance is only to be used with the power supply unit provided with the appliance. u The appliance must only be supplied at safety extra low voltage corresponding to the marking on the appliance. Inspection and repairs u Before use, check the appliance for damaged or defective parts. Check for breakage of parts, damage to switches and any other conditions that may affect its operation. u Do not use the appliance if any part is damaged or defective. u Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or replaced by an autho repair agent. u Regularly check the lead for damage. Replace the the lead if it is damaged or defective. u Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than those specied in this manual. Residual Risks Additional residual risks may arise when using the tool which may not be included in the enclosed safety warnings. These risks can arise from misuse, prolonged use etc. Even with the application of the relevant safety regulations and the implementation of safety devices, certain residual risks can not be avoided. When using any appliance for prolonged periods ensure you take regular breaks. Electrical safety The appliance is designed for use with 12V negative ground vehicle battery systems. Warning! The cigarette lighter connector is tted with a non-serviceable safety fuse. The fuse may operate in the event of a fault. If this occurs the fuse must be replaced together with the connector and cable by the manufacturer or an authorised Black and Decker Service Centre in order to avoid a hazard. Warning! 11. 2-in-1 combi nozzle accessory

Assembly Mounting accessories (g. B, C, D, E, F & G) The 2-in-1 combi nozzle (11) has a brush that can be folded forward for dusting and upholstery cleaning u To t an accessory press the accessory clip (11) and slide the accessory onto the handle (2) (Fig. B & C). u To remove an accessory, press the accessory clip (11) and remove the accessory. The handle (2) can be removed from the hose (4) allowing the accessories to be connected directly to the hose when required. To remove the handle: u Unclip the handle (2) from the appliance. u Rotate the locking ring (3) anti-clockwise to release the clips (Fig. D). u Pull the hose (4) away from the handle (2) (Fig. E). u Fit the accessory directly to the hose cuff (3) (Fig. F) To ret the handle: u Remove the accessory from the hose. u Push the hose (4) into the handle (2). Rotate the locking ring (3) clockwise until it clicks into place Use Connecting to the vehicle’s power supply u Make sure that the appliance is switched off. u Remove the cigarette lighter from it’s socket. u Plug the connector (6) into the cigarette lighter socket. Switching on and off (g. A) u To switch on, slide the on/off switch (1) to the right. u To switch off, slide the on/off switch (1) to the left until it clicks into the off position. The appliance can be used for periods of up to 30 minutes without noticeably affecting the power of a normally charged car battery in good condition. Warning! Extended use will drain the battery power. Do not run the vehicle’s engine while cleaning as this can shorten the life of the appliance. Vacuuming u When operating the appliance, make sure that the hose is not trapped, twisted or blocked. u The handle (2) can be easily removed from the appliance allowing you to reach up to 1.5 m from the appliance. u With the handle (2) removed, the appliance can be carried using the built-in handle. u The handle (2) can also be removed from the hose (4) so that you can connect an accessory directly to the hosecuff (3) when required. Cleaning and maintenance Cleaning the dust bowl (g. H, I, J, K, ) Your BLACK+DECKER tool has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper care and regular cleaning u Release the door latch (7) and open the transparent door (5) 180° until it clicks in the open position. u Empty the dust container by lightly shaking over a dustbin u Close the transparent door (5) and make sure that it clicks into place. Cleaning the lters (g. L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T ) u Press the bowl release button (9) (g. L) u Rotate bowl (g. M) u Seperate dust bowl from appliance (g. N). u Clean the lter by rotating 3 times counterclockwise (g. K). u Lift the lter from the dust bowl (g. P) and brush off any loose dust. u Empty any remaining dust from the dust bowl (g. Q). u Ensure the dust bowl is open (g. R). u Rinse out the dustbowl with warm soapy water (g. S). u Wash the lters with warm soapy water (g. T). u Make sure the lters are dry u Ret the lters onto the appliance twisting them clockwise until they lock into place. u Close the dustbowl door. Make sure the release latch (8) clicks into place. Warning! Before performing any maintenance or cleaning on the appliance, unplug the appliance. From time to time wipe the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner. Do not immerse the appliance in water Replacing the lters The lters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months and whenever worn or damaged.
