The operating instructions are part of this product.

They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner.

Intended use

This appliance is intended exclusively for weighing small quantities. This appliance is intended solely for use in private households. It is not suitable for commercial use!

Read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time, and retain them for future reference. Please pass these operating instructions on to any future owner(s).

• Check the appliance for visible external damage before use. Do not use an appliance that has been damaged or dropped.

This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks. Do not allow children to use the appliance as a toy. Cleaning and user maintenance tasks may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

• All repairs must be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the Customer Service department. Improper repairs can pose significant risks to the user. It will also invalidate any warranty claims.

CAUTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

Defective components must always be replaced with genuine replacement parts. Compliance with safety requirements can only be guaranteed if original replacement parts are used.
Never place hot food/liquids in the spoon!
Do not allow any liquids or moisture to get into the appliance.
Do not leave objects in the spoon when the appliance is not being used.
- Protect the scales from impacts, moisture, dust, chemicals, extremes of temperature and keep them away from heat sources (ovens, radiators).
Do not press the buttons with excessive force or sharp objects.

CAUTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures or strong electromagnetic fields (e.g. mobile phones).

Safety instructions for handling batteries

Mishandling batteries can cause fires, explosions, leakages of dangerous chemicals or other hazards!

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Make sure that no one can swallow the batteries.
• If a battery is swallowed, seek medical assistance immediately.
• Always use the stated battery type.
• Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Remove the batteries from the appliance before recharging them.
• Do not throw batteries into a fire of water.
• Never expose batteries to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
• Never open or deform batteries.
• Do not short-circuit the terminals.
• Remove depleted batteries from the appliance and dispose of them safely.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

• Do not use different types of batteries together or mix new batteries with used batteries.
  Always ensure that the batteries are installed in the appliance with the correctly aligned polarity.
  If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries.
• Check the condition of the batteries at regular intervals. Leaking batteries can cause injuries as well as damage to the appliance.
  Always use protective gloves when handling leaking batteries! Clean the battery and appliance contacts with a dry cloth. Do not let the chemicals get into contact with your skin and mucous membranes, especially your eyes. In the event of exposure to the chemicals, wash the affected area with plenty of water and seek medical advice immediately.

Operation

Clean all parts as described in the section "Cleaning and care".
Open the lid of the battery compartment 5 and insert two 1.5 V AAA/LRO3 batteries. Ensure that the battery has the correct polarity.
Close the battery compartment 5. "0.0 g" appears on the display 2. The appliance is now ready for use.
To change the units, press the UNIT 3 button until "0.000 oz" appears on the display 2.

Using the appliance

Simple measurement

Switch the appliance on using the ON/TARE button 4.
Place the spoon with the contents to be weighed on a level surface and hold the rear end firmly to prevent the appliance from tipping.

Hold the appliance horizontally in your hand and keep it as still as possible.
To turn the appliance off, press and hold the ON/TARE 4 button until the display 2 goes out.

or

Wait for approx. 60 seconds. The appliance switches itself off automatically.

Totalising function

You can add individual measurements (max. 300 g per measurement) together.

Press the ON/TARE 4 button and carry out the first measurement.
Press the /UNIT button 3 button. " " and the weight of the material on the scale appear on the display 2.
Remove the material from the spoon 1 and add the next portion of material to be weighed. The weight of the new material is now added to the previous weight on the display 2 and the total weight is shown.

You can repeat this procedure until you have reached 3000g in total weight. If 3000g is exceeded, the display 2 shows "Dld".

NOTE

• You cannot use the TARE function while you are adding weights!

TARE function/measuring in a container

If you want to weigh food in another container, place the container in the spoon ① first.
Then press the ON/TARE button 4 to reset the display to zero.
When you add the food to the container, only the weight of the food itself will be displayed. If you take the container with the food off the spoon 1, a negative value will be displayed.
Now press the ON/TARE button again to return to the normal weighing mode.

Measuring liquids

The scale in the spoon can be used for measuring liquids (15-45 ml or 1-3 tablespoons).

However, due to optical displacement, differences of up to 15% can occur.

Hold function (HOLD)

If you press the HOLD button while a weight is being displayed, the weight display will be retained even if you remove the contents from the spoon 1.

If you then press the HOLD button again, you will deactivate the hold function and the current weight will be displayed again.

Changing the batteries

As soon as the battery becomes low, the "symbol will be shown on the display 2 to remind you to replace the battery soon. When "lo appears on the display 2, the battery is empty. You should then replace the battery:

Take out the empty battery, and replace it with a new 1.5 V AAA/LR03 battery. Ensure that the battery has the correct polarity.
Close the battery compartment 5.

Error messages

out? - "OUTZero": There is already more than 30 g weight in the spoon ① when the scale is switched on. Remove the weight from the spoon ① and then switch the appliance back on again.

UNST - "UNSTable": The appliance is not being held stably/level while being switched on. Place the appliance on a stable support/hold the appliance level and still in your hand.

• The batteries are low. The batteries will need to be replaced soon!

• The batteries are dead. Replace the batteries!

• Overload! The material in the spoon ① is heavier than the maximum allowed weight! Remove some material from the spoon ①!

Cleaning and care

ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!

Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning materials. These will damage the surface of the appliance!

Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth.

NOTE

You can remove the spoon 1 from the spoon handle and clean it separately in the dishwasher.

Ensure that the appliance is properly dry before re-using it.

Disposal

The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out dustbin means that this appliance is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this appliance may not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must be taken to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies.

The disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this appliance properly.

If it is possible to do so without destroying the old appliance, remove the old batteries or rechargeable batteries before returning the appliance for disposal and take them to a separate collection point. In the case of permanently installed rechargeable batteries, you must indicate during disposal that the appliance contains a battery.

Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product.

The product is recyclable, subject to extended producer responsibility and is collected separately.

Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be treated as hazardous waste and must therefore be disposed of in an environmentally sound manner by appropriate bodies (dealers, specialist dealers, public municipal bodies, commercial disposal companies). Batteries/rechargeable batteries may contain toxic heavy metals.

The heavy metals contained are identified by letters below the symbol: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.

For this reason, do not dispose of batteries/ rechargeable batteries in domestic waste. Take them to a specialist collection point.

Only return batteries that are fully discharged.

Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally responsible manner.

Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings: 1-7: plastics, 20-22: paper and cardboard, 80-98: composites.

Dear Customer,

This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.

Warranty conditions

The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase.

If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred.

If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects

The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.

Scope of the warranty

This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.

The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of glass.

The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.

This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.

Warranty claim procedure

To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:

Please have the till receipt and the item number (IAN) 377134_2110 available as proof of purchase.
- You will find the item number on the type plate on the product, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the operating instructions (below left) or on the sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail.
You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
