Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner. Intended use This appliance is intended exclusively for weighing small quantities. This appliance is intended solely for use in private households. It is not suitable for commercial use! Safety instructions for handling batteries Mishandling batteries can cause fires, explosions, leakages of dangerous chemicals or other hazards! WARNING!  7 ■ Operation ♦ Clean all parts as described in the section “Cleaning and care”. ♦ Open the lid of the battery compartment 5 and insert two 1.5 V AAA/LR03 batteries. Ensure that the battery has the correct polarity. ♦ Close the battery compartment 5. "0.0 g" appears on the display 2. The appliance is now ready for use. ♦ To change the units, press the

/UNIT 3 button until "0.000 oz" appears on the display 2. Using the appliance Simple measurement ♦ Switch the appliance on using the ON/TARE button4. ♦ Place the spoon 1 with the contents to be weighed on a level surface and hold the rear end firmly to prevent the appliance from tipping.

♦ Hold the appliance horizontally in your hand and keep it as still as possible. ♦ To turn the appliance off, press and hold the ON/TARE 4 button until the display 2 goes out.

♦ Wait for approx. 60 seconds. The appliance switches itself off automatically. Totalising function You can add individual measurements (max. 300 g per measurement) together. ♦ Press the ON/TARE 4 button and carry out the first measurement. ♦ Press the

NOTE ► You cannot use the TARE function while you are adding weights! TARE function/measuring in a container ♦ If you want to weigh food in another container, place the container in the spoon 1 first. ♦ Then press the ON/TARE button 4 to reset the display to zero. ♦ When you add the food to the container, only the weight of the food itself will be displayed. If you take the container with the food off the spoon 1, a negative value will be displayed. ♦ Now press the ON/TARE button 4 again to return to the normal weighing mode. Measuring liquids The scale in the spoon 1 can be used for measuring liquids (15–45 ml or 1–3 tablespoons). However, due to optical displacement, differences of up to 15% can occur. Hold function (HOLD) If you press the HOLD button 6 while a weight is being displayed, the weight display will be retained even if you remove the contents from the spoon 1. If you then press the HOLD button 6 again, you will deactivate the hold function and the current weight will be displayed again. Changing the batteries As soon as the battery becomes low, the " " symbol will be shown on the display 2 to remind you to replace the battery soon. When " " appears on the display 2, the battery is empty. You should then replace the battery: ♦ Remove the cover of the battery compartment 5. ♦ Take out the empty battery, and replace it with a new 1.5 V AAA/LR03 battery.  9 ■ Error messages - "OUTZero": There is already more than 30 g weight in the spoon 1 when the scale is switched on. Remove the weight from the spoon 1 and then switch the appliance back on again. - „UNSTable“: The appliance is not being held stably/level while being switched on. Place the appliance on a stable support/hold the appliance level and still in your hand. – The batteries are low. The batteries will need to be replaced soon! – The batteries are dead. Replace the batteries! - Overload! The material in the spoon 1 is heavier than the maximum allowed weight! Remove some material from the spoon 1! Cleaning and care ATTENTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE! Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaning materials. These will damage the surface of the appliance! ♦ Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth. NOTE You can remove the spoon 1 from the spoon handle and clean it separately in the dishwasher. ♦ Ensure that the appliance is properly dry before re-using it.SDL 300 C2 ■ 10 

Disposal The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out dustbin means that this appliance is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this appliance may not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must be taken to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies. The disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this appliance properly. If it is possible to do so without destroying the old appliance, remove the old batteries or rechargeable batteries before returning the appliance for disposal and take them to a separate collection point. For this reason, do not dispose of batteries/ rechargeable batteries in domestic waste. Take them to a specialist collection point. Only return batteries that are fully discharged.  11 ■ Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings: 1–7: plastics, 20–22: paper and cardboard, 80–98: composites.
