Warning: The vibration emission
value may dier during actual use of the power tool from the stated value depending on the manner in which the power tool is used, in particular which kind of work piece is processed.GB
Safety precautions aimed at pro- tecting the user should be based on estimated exposure under actual usage conditions (all parts of the op- erating cycle are to be considered, including, for example, times during which the power tool is turned o and times when the tool is turned on but is running idle). Safety instructions Ensure that the safety instructions are ob- served when operating the appliance. Symbols and icons Symbols in the manual: Warning symbols with informa- tion on damage and injury pre- vention. Instruction symbols (the instruc- tion is explained at the place of the exclamation mark) with information on preventing damage. Help symbols with information on improving tool handling. Connect the machine to the power supply. Pull out the mains plug. Symbols on the appliance: WARNING – To reduce the risk of injury, read the operating instruc- tions. Carefully read these Operating In- structions. Do not expose to rain or moisture. Caution! Hot surface. Risk of burns. Safety class II Electrical appliances must not be disposed of with the domestic waste. General safety instructions for power tools WARNING! Read all safety direc- tions and instructions. Omis- sions in the compliance with safety directions and instructions can cause electrical shock, re and/or severe injuries. Retain all safety directions and instruc- tions for future use. The term “Power Tools” used in the safety instructions refers to mains-operated pow- er tools (with power cord) and to battery- operated power tools (without power cord).
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in ex- plosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of ammable Iiquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Dis- tractions can cause you to lose control.GB
tention white operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protec- tive equipment such as dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the o-po- sition before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your nger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left at- tached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts. g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards. h) Do not give in to a false feeling of safety and do not disregard the safety rules for power tools, even if you are familiar with the power tool after many times of use. Acting carelessly can lead to serious injuries within fractions of seconds.
2) ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of elec- tric shock if your body is earthed or grounded. c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplug- ging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or mov- ing parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. e) When operating a power tool out- doors, use an extension cord suit- able for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
a) Stay alert, watch what you are do- ing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the inuence of drugs, alco- hol or medication. A moment of inat-GB
POWER TOOLS a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your ap- plication. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and o. Any power tool that cannot be con- trolled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any ad- just -ments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preven- tive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentaIly. d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dan- gerous in the hands of untrained users. e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may aect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less Iikely to bind and are easier to control. g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations dier- ent from those intended could result in a hazardous situation. h) Hold the device by the insulated grip- ping surfaces when performing work in which the cutting tool may come into contact with hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a live wire can also cause a charge in metal parts of the device and result in an electric shock. h) Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and handle surfaces do not permit safe operation and control over the power tool in unexpected situations.
Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained. Further safety directions a) Hold the power tool by the insu- lated handle grips when performing work in which the screw may come into contact with hidden wiring or its own power cord. If the screw were to come into contact with a live electrical cable, metal parts of the ap- pliance could also become live and cause an electric shock. b) Keep hands away from rotating parts. Wait until the power tool has stopped before placing it down. Risk of injury! c) Avoid contact with the tool insert or the component part immediately after processing. The parts may be hot and cause burn injuries.GB
d) Immediately switch o the power tool if the tool insert is blocked due to overloading or tilting of the com- ponent part. The loss of control can result in injuries. e) The device must only be connected to a mains socket via a residual-current circuit breaker (RCD) with a rated leak- age current of not more than 30 mA. f) If replacement of the connecting cab- le becomes necessary, this is to be carried out by the manufacturer or his agent in order to avoid safety risks. Residual risks Even if properly operating and handling this electric tool, some residual risks will remain. Due to its construction and build, this electric tool may present the following hazards: a) Injuries caused by moving parts or hot surfaces. b) Ear damage if working without ear protection. c) Damage to your health caused by swinging your hands and arms when operating the appliance for longer pe- riods of time or if the unit is not held or maintained properly. Warning! During operation, this electric tool generates an electro- magnetic eld which, under certain circumstances, may impair the functionality of active or passive medical implants. To reduce the risk of serious or lethal injuries, we recommend that persons with medical implants consult their doc- tor and the manufacturer of their medical implant before operating the machine.
