What are the recommended uses for the POWXG9513 pump?

This submersible pump is designed for pumping clear or dirty water, particularly for draining flooded basements, drainage, garden watering, and domestic water supply. It is not suitable for professional use.

What is the maximum immersion depth?

The maximum immersion depth is 7 meters. Make sure not to immerse the pump beyond this limit.

How to install the pump correctly?

Install the pump in a pit of at least 40×40×50 cm to allow free movement of the float. Hang it by its handle or place it on the bottom. Never suspend it by the cable or discharge hose. Ensure the bottom of the pit is free of mud.

What to do if the pump does not start?

First check the mains voltage. Make sure the float switch is in the high position (it must be raised to activate the pump). If the problem persists, consult the troubleshooting table in the manual.

How to bleed the pump before use?

Tilt the pump forward and backward several times to expel air, then wait at least 15 seconds before starting it. This prevents dry running.

What type of water can be pumped?

The pump can discharge clear or dirty water (dirty water) with a maximum temperature of 35°C. Do not use for aggressive liquids, fuels, or chemicals.

How to maintain the pump?

After each use, clean the pump with clear water. Every three months, check the proper operation of the float switch, clean the inlet filter, and remove mud from the bottom of the pit. To clean the impeller, disassemble the suction basket and rinse with clear water.

What are the important safety precautions?

Read the manual before use. Use a residual current device ≤30 mA if the pump is used near a swimming pool. Do not let children play with the appliance. Do not run the pump dry and protect it from frost.

What to do if the pump stops after a few minutes of operation?

This may be due to water that is too dirty or a temperature that is too high. Disconnect the pump, clean it and the pit. Check that the water temperature does not exceed 35°C.

How to store the pump when not in use?

Clean the pump and its accessories thoroughly. Store it in a dry, temperate place away from direct light. Avoid extreme temperatures. Do not put it in a nylon bag to prevent moisture.

1 APPLICATION

This pump is used primarily as cellar pump. When installed in a shaft, the pump provides protection from flooding. It is also used wherever water has to be moved from one place to another, e.g. in the home, agriculture, horticulture, plumbing and many other applications. Not suitable for professional use.

WARNING! Read this manual and general safety instructions carefully before using the appliance, for your own safety. Your power tool should only be passed on together with these instructions.

3 PACKAGE CONTENT LIST

5 GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow all warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless) power tool.

6 BEFORE START-UP, NOTE THE FOLLOWING!

• The pump can be connected to any shock-proof plug which has been installed according to regulations. The plug must have a supply voltage of 230V 50Hz . Fuse min. 6 Amp.

Caution!

When the pump is to be used near swimming pools or garden ponds and in their area of protection, it must be equipped with a PRCD (residual current circuit breaker) with a nominal trip current of max. 30mA (according to VDE 0100, part 702 and 738). The pump must not be operated while people are in the swimming pool or in the garden pond! Please contact your electrician!

Attention!

(Important for your own security) Before starting to run your new submersible pump, please have the following items checked by an expert:

Ground connection
Zero conductor
- Fault current breaker switch must correspond the safety regulations of the power plants and they must work faultlessly.
- The electrical connections must be protected from moisture.
- If there is danger of flooding, the electrical connections must be taken to higher ground.
- Circulation of aggressive fluids, as well as the circulation of abrasive materials must be avoided at all costs.
- The submersible motor-driven pump must be protected from frost.
The pump must be protected from running dry.
- Access on the part of children should also be prevented with appropriate measures.

Consistency

Your submersible pump is designed for the circulation of water with a maximum temperature of 35^ C. This pump may not be used for other fluids, especially motor fuels, cleaning fluids, and other chemical products!

7 INSTALLATION

The submersible pump is installed as follows:

In a stationary position with fixed pipeline

or

• in a stationary position with a flexible hose pipe.

Please note!

You should never install the pump by suspending it unsupported from its delivery pipe or power cable. The submersible pump must be suspended from the specially provided handle or be placed on the bottom of the shaft. To guarantee that the pump works properly, the bottom of the shaft must be kept free of sludge and dirt of all kinds.

If the level of water sinks too far, any sludge in the shaft will dry out quickly and stop the pump from starting up. Therefore it is necessary to check the submersible motor pump regularly (by carrying out start-up tests). The floater is adjusted in a way that the pump can immediately be started

Note!

The pump shaft should have minimum dimensions of 40 × 40 × 50cm , so that the floating switch can move freely.

Mains supply

Your new submersible pump is equipped with a shock-proof plug according to regulations. The pump is designed to be connected to a 230V - 50 Hz earthed socket. Make sure that the socket is sufficiently secured (min. 6 Amp.) and is in excellent condition. Introduce the plug into the socket and the pump is ready to go.

Important Note!

If the mains cable or plug suffers any damage from external action, repairs to the cable should be serviced by a qualified specialist using only standard spare parts. This will ensure that it meets the required safety standards.

8 SETTING TO WORK

After having read these instructions carefully, you can set your pump to work, reconsidering the following:

• Check if the pump rests on the ground of the shaft.
• Check of pressure cord has been attached properly.
  Check if electrical connection is 230V - 50Hz
• Check if socket is in good condition.
• Make sure that water and humidity can never come to the mains supply.
• Avoid pump running dry.

8.1 Venting the pump before use

• Always ensure that the pump is vented properly before commissioning the pump. Possibly tilting back and forth several times until no more air bubbles appear, wait at least 15 seconds before the pump to start.

8.2 Setting the ON/OFF operating point

The ON and OFF operating point of the float switch can be set by adjusting the float switch in its latching holder.

Before you put the pump into operation, please check the following:

• The float switch must be installed so that the level of the ON operating point and the level of the OFF operating point can be reached easily and with little force. To check this, place the pump in a vessel filled with water, raise the float switch carefully by hand and then lower it again. As you do so, note whether the pump switches on and off.
• Make sure that the distance between the float switch head and the latching holder is not too small. Proper operation is not guaranteed if the gap is too small.
• When you set the float switch, make sure that it does not touch the base before the pump switches off. Caution! Risk of dry-running.

This appliance cannot be used by children or people who are physically, mentally or developmentally impaired, or people who lack experience or knowledge, except in case these people receive instruction from a person responsible for their safety, a supervisor, or by studying the preceding instructions concerning use of this appliance.

9 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Attention! Before performing any work on the equipment, pull the power plug.

Never use solvents such as petrol, alcohol, ammonia water, etc. These solvents may damage the plastic parts.

9.1 Maintenance guidelines

This submersible pump is an approved, maintenance-free high quality product, which is subject to severe final controls. We recommend regular inspection and maintenance to ensure long equipment life and uninterrupted operation.

Important! Note!

Remove the mains plug before all maintenance work.

• When the pump is often transported in the course of operation, it should be cleaned out with clear water after every use.
  In case of stationary installation, the function of the bating switch should be checked every 3 months.
• All fibrous particles which may have built-up inside the pump housing should be removed with a water jet.
• Every 3 months the shaft ground and as should be cleaned from mud.
• Remove deposits on the floater with clear water.

9.2 Cleaning the impeller

If excessive deposits collect in the pump case you must dismantle the bottom part of the pump as follows:

1. Remove the intake cage from the pump case.
2. Clean the impeller with clear water.

Important! Do not put down or rest the pump on the impeller!

• Damaged switches must be replaced by our after-sales service department.
• If the connecting cable (or mains plug) is damaged, it must be replaced by a particular connecting cable which is available from our service department. Replacement of the connecting cable must only be carried out by our service department (see last page) or by a qualified person (qualified electrician).

13 STORAGE

• Thoroughly clean the whole machine and its accessories.
• Store it out of the reach of children, in a stable and secure position, in a cool and dry place, avoid too high and too low temperatures.
• Protect it from exposure to direct sunlight. Keep it in the dark, if possible.
• Don't keep it in plastic bags to avoid humidity build-up.

14 WARRANTY

This product is warranted as provided by law for a 36-month period effective from the date of purchase by the first user.
- This warranty covers all material or production flaws. It does not include defective parts subject to normal wear & tear such as bearings, brushes, cables, and plugs, or accessories such as drills, drill bits, saw blades, etc.; damage or defects resulting from maltreatment, accidents or alterations; nor the cost of transportation.
- This warranty covers all material or production flaws excluding: batteries, chargers, defective parts subject to normal wear & tear such as bearings, brushes, cables, and plugs, or accessories such as drills, drill bits, saw blades, etc.; damage or defects resulting from maltreatment, accidents or alterations; nor the cost of transportation.

15 ENVIRONMENT

Should your appliance need replacement after extended use, do not discard it with the household rubbish but dispose of it in an environmentally safe way. Waste produced by electrical machine items should not be handled like normal household rubbish. Please recycle where recycle facilities exist.
