USING THE DEEP FRYER
Deep Frying
1 Remove the lid. Take out the frying basket and handle. Push and hold the end of the frying basket handle inwards and place it into the receptors of the frying basket. Swivel the handle outwards until it snaps into place. For storage purposes, the frying basket can be taken apart in the same way.
Put the frying pot into the deep fryer. Insert the control unit at the designated place on the housing and let the rails slide into the openings.
3 In order to start frying, fill up the frying pot with oil to at least the MIN mark, but do not exceed the MAX (3.5L) mark. Warning! Never operate the product without oil, with insufficient oil (below MIN) or too much oil (over MAX) in the frying pot. Place the frying basket back in and close the lid.
Pull the power cable out of the cable compartment. Plug it into a wall outlet. The POWER light will automatically turn on.
The oil must be pre-heated. Set the desired temperature via the temperature control dial. The HEATING light will turn on and start the preheat. The HEATING light will turn off once the oil reached the set temperature.
Note:
For the recommended temperatures for different food categories, refer to the section Frying table in chapter Frying Tips.
When the desired temperature has been reached, open the lid.
7 Lift up the frying basket slightly and hang in with the hook onto the edge of the frying pot. Fill the frying basket with the food. If necessary remove the frying basket completely.
Warning:
The fryer and the lid are very hot. Very hot steam may be released and oil/grease my spray out.
Note:
Ensure that the food about to be fried is dry to avoid splashing or foaming of the oil. Dab damp food with a dry paper towel and remove ice from frozen foods. The food should be completely submerged in the oil/grease to achieve an even fry.
8 Check on the frying of the food by slightly opening the lid.
Note:
As soon as the oil drops below the desired temperature, the thermostat will turn on and the HEATING light turns on again. This allows for the temperature to stay constant. During the use of the product, the control light is constantly turning on and off.
If you are satisfied with the frying results, stop the frying. Set the temperature dial to OFF and unplug the power cable from the power supply. Open the lid and lift up the frying basket. Hang it with the hook onto the edge of the frying pot for approx. 1-2 minutes to drain the oil. Take out the frying basket. Place the fried food onto a heat resistant plate.
Note: Place a kitchen paper under the fried food to pick-up any extra oil/grease.
OVERHEATING PROTECTION:
When the product overheats (for examples, if there isn't enough oil in the frying pot), it will automatically turn off. If this happens remove the power cable from the power supply and wait until the product has cooled down sufficiently. After cooling down and before next use push the START button by using a pointed object.
FRYING TIPS
Frying Oil and Grease
- Only use high heat-resistant, frying-neutral frying oil (vegetable oil) or frying grease (vegetable grease), which can be heated to about 220^ . Examples of suitable frying oils include: hardened vegetable oils and fats, refined oils (rapeseed oil, soybean oil or sunflower oil), palm oil. Not suitable for frying are cold-pressed and unrefined oils / fats, such as: virgin olive oil, butter, margarine, etc.
- Careful! Never mix different oils or types of fat and never use old oil/fat with new oil/fat.
- If using solid frying fat, cut it into pieces and melt it in a pan at low heat. Then, carefully fill the melted grease into the frying pot. The frying pot must be dry when filling with oil/grease.
- You store solid frying fat at room temperature in the closed fryer. When you heat up that fat, poke some holes into the fat beforehand with a fork so that it doesn't spray when hot. Be careful not to damage the frying pot when doing so. Close the lid and start to heat up the fat at a low temperature.
Warning - Risk of Fire!
Oil/grease can ignite if there is too high of a temperature. If the oil/grease ignites in the fryer, unplug the main power cable from the wall immediately! Never pour water into hot or burning oil/grease. Close the lid of the fryer if possible, do not put yourself into a position of danger. You may try to deplete the fire with a large blanket or by using a fire extinguisher.

Frying Table
The following table gives you an overview of the recommended temperatures for different food groups. The values in this table are only indicative. Note that the frying time and required temperature depend on the type and nature of the food (for example the size and the weight). Please pay close attention to the information on the packaging of the food.

| Shrimps 130 | |
| Mushrooms 150 | |
| Breaded chicken 170 | |

| Onion rings 170 | |
| French fries 170 | |
| Potato chips 170 |
For nutritious and healthy deep frying, we recommend that foods be fried until they are golden yellow rather than dark or brown and that burnt residues be removed. Fry starchy foods, especially grain and potato products, at a maximum of 170^ .
CLEANING AND CARE
- Careful! Disconnect the power cable and allow the product to properly cool down before cleaning. Do not put electrical parts of the product into water or other liquids during cleaning. Never keep the product under running water.
- Remove the oil/grease from the frying pot as described in the Oil/Grease Filter, Store And Disse
- Careful! Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects for cleaning. Solvents are harmful to health and destroy the plastic parts; Scrubbing cleaners and aids scratch the surface.
10 Remove the control and heating elements from the frying pot. Clean the frying basket, frying pot and lid with hot water and a little dish soap. Dry the parts carefully. Never submerge the control and heating elements into water.
11 Wipe the body of the fryer inside and outside with a damp cloth. After you have cleaned all the parts, reassemble the fryer. Careful! The fryer has to be completely dry before each use.
12 For storage, stow the power cord in the cable compartment.
OIL/GREASE FILTER, STORE AND DISPOSE
Filter
- Allow the product to cool down after use (At least 3 hours)
- It is recommended that you filter the oil/grease after each frying process to remove small parts, (Example to remove food residues completely as it accelerates fat spoilage).
Pour the cooled down oil/grease (should still be a liquid) into a metal pot with handles. - Remove any food residue from the frying pot with a sponge or some kitchen paper.
- Place an oil filter in the frying basket. Pour the oil/fat slowly through the filter into the frying pot. You can also use a paper towel or a piece of cotton as a filter.
If you fry a lot, you can store the oil/fat in the frying pot. Close the lid and keep the product in a cool and dry place. - Regularly renew the oil/fat after approximately 3-5 frying operations. Renew the oil/grease if it foams, smokes, or smells unpleasant when heated, or when it has become dark and heavy.
- Warning - Danger of fire! Old or dirty oil/fat can ignite if overheated. In case of a fire, immediately pull the plug and close the lid. Never pour water into hot or burning oil/grease.
Storage
- If you only occasionally use the product, remove the oil/grease from the frying pot and keep it in a closable container in the refrigerator.
- Oil/fat which was used for frying fish shall be stored separated from oil/fat which was used for frying other foods.
- Do not put seasoning on the food before or during frying. This allows for a longer use of the oil.
Disposal
Pour the oil into a closable container and then dispose of it.
- Pour the still warm fat into a pot lined with newspaper and wait until it has cooled down and become solid. Then wrap the fat completely into the paper and dispose of it.
- Do not dispose of oil/grease into your drain or sink, but always into household waste. Check with your local authority for a collection point.
