About these instructions GENERAL Declaration of conformity The CE marking says that this product meets the requirements of all EU Direcves applicable for this product. Delivery scope OVERVIEW The primary purpose of this external hard drive is the storage of data from PCs, Notebooks, Ultra- books or MAC computers. This product is not intended for commercial use or for medical and spe- cial applicaons, where the failure of the product can cause injuries, mortalies or considerable material damages. In the case of use which does not correspond to the intended use, the liability expires. TThe opening, as well as conversion of the device and the use of addional devices and accessories, which are not approved by us, must be refrained from. Do not use the device under extreme ambient condions and observe the safety instrucons. Non-observance of the informa- on and safety instrucons in these Instrucons is deemed as non-observance of the intended use and leads to expiry of the liability and can lead to personal or material damage. 4EN - Page 3 of 7 This hard drive is compable with the operang systems MS Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 and Mac OS 10.x*. A free USB interface is required to operate it. *Trademarks: Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 are registered trademarks of the Microso Corporaon. Macintosh and MAC are registered trademarks of Apple Computer. All brands and third party names are the property of the respecve user. System requirements Notes: A USB 3.0 interface card is necessary for the USB 3.0 operaon The hard drive is downward com- pable to previous USB standards. The hardware conguraon of your PC and the used operang system can inuence the compability of the hard drive. USE Connecting the hard drive Connect the supplied power supply with the external hard drive. Plug the other end of the power supply into the socket. To switch on, press the On/O switch on the front side of the housing. To connect the external hard drive to your computer, please use only the supplied USB cable. Connect the USB 3.0 plug with the Intenso hard drive and the plug of the USB cable end with your computer. The computer recognizes the “new hardware” and installs the driver automacally. Wait unl the driver installaon is completed. In the “workplace” there is now another drive with the designaon “Intenso” available. As soon as the external drive is connected with the computer, the LED lights up The LED ashes when a write or read operaon is carried out. Depending on the used operang system, the hard drive must be logged o before the connec- on to the computer is interrupted. For further details please refer to the Help Secon of your operang system provider. The device may not be removed when it is sll being accessed (ashing LED). This can lead to damages and/or data loss. Please close all the les located on the hard drive (photos, documents, etc.) before removing the hard drive. Removing the hard drive DC IN 12V - 2A USB 3.0 USB 3.0 Micro B ON / OFF LEDThe device may not be exposed to spray or dripping water. Vessels lled with liquid (vases, glasses or similar) may not be placed on the device. There is dan- ger that the vessel ps over and the liquid impairs the electrical safety. Do not operate this device with wet hands. Do not insert any items, which are not intended for its use, into the openings of the device. This could lead to an electrical short-circuit and a resultant re. Do not block or cover the openings of the product. Under no circumstances use the device in the case of visible damages on it or the USB cable. When posioning the device, pay aenon that no one can tread on the cable or trip over it. Do not place any objects onto the cable. Do not drop the device or subject it to vibraons or impacts, this applies in parcular to the trans- port. Do not move the device when it is in operaon. Hard drives are extremely vulnerable and the data located on them can be destroyed irretrievably through this. Such damages are not contained in the guarantees. Carry out data backups frequently to avoid a possible data loss. Data recovery is not part of the guarantees and cannot be conducted by our Service Centre! Keep the device away from any type of moisture and avoid dust, heat and direct sunlight. Do not open the housing of the device and do not disassemble it into its component parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. The guarantee expires in this case. Avoid using the device in strongly magnezed areas such as, for example, in the direct proximity of TV sets, loudspeakers, etc. to avoid data loss or other malfuncons. During operaon pay aenon to a vibraon-free base to avoid damages. The socket must be close to the device and easily accessible. Do not open the housing of the mains adapter. When the housing is open there is mortal danger through electric shock. It does not contain any parts requiring maintenance. Operate the mains adapter only on sockets with AC 100-240V~, 50/60 Hz If you are not sure about the power supply at the installaon site, enquire with the energy provider concerned. Only use the enclosed mains adapter and power supply cable (GangQi GQ24-120200-AG). To interrupt the power supply to your device, pull the power supply out of the socket. Always hold on to the power pack when removing it. Never pull on the cable. General EN - Page 4 of 7 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Children oen underesmate dangers or do not recognise them at all. This device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with restricted sensory, physical or mental abilies or lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or received instrucons from the person on how to use the device and they have unders- tood the resultant dangers. Unsupervised children should not have access to the device. Make sure that children do not play with the device. ASSISTANCE WITH PROBLEMS

Check the hard drive, the power supply and the USB cable for visible damages. If there is such a da- mage, please turn to our Support to exchange it. Under no circumstances should you use the de- fecve device, power supply or cable. Check whether the cable connecon is correctly plugged in. Status LED is not illuminated Check the points under “Status LED is not lit” rst. Please check all other exisng USB ports of your device. Please use only the supplied cable and in parcular no extension. If the hard drive is not recognized at any USB port of your device, please try whether it works on another device to exclude a possible defect. Check the Disk Management, it may be possible that only a drive leer has to be assigned (for more details please see the Help le of your Windows version). If you used the hard drive before, for example, on a TV set, it may be that you need to format the hard drive rst to be able to use it on a computer again (for details please see the operang instrucons of the previously used device and/or the Help le of your operang system provider). All points described in these instrucons only serve the purpose of claricaon and must not inevitably correspond to a certain situaon. Legal claims cannot be made on the basis of these instrucons. If, despite our strict IHQ quality guidelines, you discover any deciencies in your Intenso product, then in addion to your legal guarantee rights, Intenso Internaonal GmbH (guarantor) grants you a voluntarily, two-year guarantee for this product in accordance with the following condions: Intenso Internaonal GmbH guarantees that the product is free of material and manufacturing defects if the product is used in accordance with the operang manual. In a guarantee claim, Intenso Internaonal GmbH shall replace the product. Intenso Internaonal GmbH does not commit to any services that go above and beyond this, for example compensaon for damages or expenses. The guarantee does not constute liability on the part of Intenso Internaonal GmbH for the loss of data. The guarantee applies for two years aer purchase by the end consumer and buyer (guarantee period). The sales receipt must be kept and a copy submied to determine the guarantee period. The guarantee services are available to you in the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA) as well as in Switzerland (territorial scope). Guarantee claims are excluded in the following cases: failure to observe the operang manual wear of parts that wear out over the course of me, such as baeries for example misuse or improper handling, installaon or use vibraons or electrostac discharge of the product, the eects of heat or moisture on the product that are outside the product specicaons damage, scratches or wear unauthorised changes, opening the housing, intervenons or repairs damage from other devices, force majeure or transport For smooth processing in a guarantee claim (complaint), we ask you to observe the following points:

1. Request an RMA number for the return shipment (Intenso return document). It can be obtained

2. Aer a review and release, you will receive the corresponding Intenso return document within

three workdays (by e-mail or fax). This document is valid for 14 days and authorises you to send the product back. We do not grant any entlements by accepng the product. They only come about aer compleon of a nal assessment of the complaint.

3. If the product subject to complaint is no longer in our product range, we will oer you a comparable

arcle as a replacement product. If you are not in agreement with the replacement product, then we ask you to process the complaint via the sales outlet from where you originally purchased the product.

4. Important: Pack the product including the copy of the sales receipt and all the accessories in a

way that is safe to transport. The RMA number must be clearly visible on the package. The package must have sucient postage. Intenso Internaonal GmbH only accepts return shipments that comply with all these condions.

5. A return shipment of foreign arcles that were sent in by mistake is not possible.

6. The processing me for complaints can be up to four weeks.
