How to fill the water tank?

Open the filling spout cap, pour cold water up to the MAX level, then close the cap. Always unplug the appliance before filling the tank.

Which temperature to choose for ironing cotton?

Set the temperature selector to the cotton position. This temperature is also the minimum temperature for steam ironing.

How to use the steam function?

Make sure the tank is full and the selected temperature is adequate. Press the steam button (1) to get steam. You can lock the button for continuous steam.

How to use vertical ironing?

Select the maximum temperature, then move the iron up and down while pressing the steam button. For delicate fabrics, keep the iron a few centimeters away.

How to clean the iron?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Clean the soleplate and housing with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents, abrasive or acidic products. Do not immerse the iron.

How to descale?

Use the Taurus Decal product following the instructions. Fill the water tank, set the maximum temperature, then trigger the self-cleaning function. Perform this operation every 6 to 12 weeks depending on water hardness.

What to do if the iron does not heat up?

Check that the appliance is plugged in and the outlet works. Make sure the temperature selector is not on the MIN position. If the problem persists, contact an authorized technical service.

Can I use tap water?

Yes, but if the water is hard (limescale), it is recommended to use distilled water or to descale regularly to avoid buildup.

How to store the iron after use?

Set the selector to MIN, unplug the appliance, empty the water tank, and let it cool in an upright position before storing.

The iron smokes on first use, is that normal?

Yes, it is normal. Some parts are slightly greased for protection. The smoke will disappear after a few minutes of use.

• Read these instructions carefully before switching on the appliance and keep them for future reference. Failure to follow and observe these instructions may result in an accident.

Use or working environment:

• The appliance should be used and kept over a flat and stable surface.
• CAUTION: In order to prevent overheating, do not cover the appliance.

Electric safety:

• Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug is damaged.
• Ensure that the voltage indicated on the nameplate matches the mains voltage

Instructions for use

Before use:

• Remove the appliance's protective film.
• Some parts of the appliance have been lightly greased. Consequently, the first time the appliance is used a light smoke may be detected. After a short time, this smoke will disappear.

Filling with water:

• It is essential to have filled the deposit with water to be able to work with steam.
• Open the lid of the filling mouth.
• Fill the compartment with cold water.
• Fill the deposit taking care to observe the MAX level (Fig. 1).
• Close the lid of the filling mouth.

Use:

• Unroll the cable completely before plugging it in.
• Connect the appliance to the mains.
• The pilot light (5) comes on.
• Turn the thermostat control to the desired temperature position.
• Do not use temperatures higher than those indicated on the garments to be treated.
• Temperature for synthetic fibres (Polyester, Nylon...).
• Temperature for silk, wool.
• Temperature for cotton. (Minimum temperature for ironing with steam) Max Temperature for linen.
• If garment has various kinds of fibres, select the temperature for the fibre that requires the lowest temperature. (For example, select the temperature for polyester for an article made out of 60% polyester and 40% cotton).
• Wait until the pilot light (5) has gone out which will indicate that the appliance has reached an adequate temperature.

Steam Ironing:

• It is possible to iron with steam whenever the deposit is filled with water and the adequate temperature is selected.
• The appliance has a (1) control that permits lo lock the steam knob and get continuous steam flow.

Vertical steaming

It is possible to iron hanging curtains, items of clothing on his hanger, etc. To do so,

follow the instructions:

• Select the maximum temperature of the iron, while turning the temperature regulator of the iron in a clockwise direction.
• Move the iron in a top to bottom direction while pressing the steam control (1). Important: for cotton and linen, its recommended to put the iron base in contact with the material. For other more delicate fibres, it's recommended to keep the iron base at some centimetres of distance.

Once you have finished using the appliance:

• Select the minimum position (MIN) using the thermostat control.
• Unplug the appliance from the mains.
• Remove the water from the water tank.

Safety thermal protector:

• The appliance has a safety device that protects it from overheating.

Cleaning

• Disconnect the appliance from the mains and let it cool before undertaking any cleaning task.
• Clean the equipment with a damp cloth with a few drops of washing-up liquid and then dry.
• Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH such as bleach, or abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.
• Do not submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid, or place it under a running tap.

Self-cleaning function:

• It is important to self-clean the appliance at least once a month to remove calcium and any other built-up minerals inside the iron.
• Fill the depository to its maximum level, as indicated in the "water fill" section.
• Place the iron in a vertical position, plug it into the mains and select the maximum temperature.
• Leave the appliance to heat up until the pilot light indicates that it has reached its set temperature.
• Unplug the appliance and place it in the sink.
• Press the self-clean button and keep it pressed down.
• Let the water flow out through the steam vents in the base, while lightly shaking the appliance.
• Release the button after a minute or when the tank becomes empty.
• Leave the iron in the vertical position until it has cooled.

How to deal with lime scale incrustations:

• For the appliance to work correctly, it should be kept free of lime scale or magnesium incrustations caused by the use of hard water.
• To prevent this kind of problem, we recommend the use of water with low lime or magnesium mineralization.
• However, if it is not possible to use the kind of water recommended above, you should periodically remove the lime scale from the appliance:
• Every 6 weeks if the water is "very hard".
• Every 12 weeks if the water is "hard".
• To do so, we recommend the use of the specific product Taurus Decal, which can be found in specialised shops and authorised technical services.
• A specific anti-lime scale product should be used on this kind of product.
• Homemade solutions are not recommended in the de-scaling of this

appliance, such as the use of vinegar.

Anomalies and repair

• Take the appliance to an authorised technical support service if problems arise. Do not try to dismantle or repair without assistance, as this may be dangerous.
• If the connection to the mains has been damaged, it must be replaced and you should proceed as you would in the case of damage.

Installation recommendations:

• Place the device on a flat and stable surface.
• IMPORTANT: To avoid overheating, do not cover the device.

Operating instructions

Before first

use:

• Remove the protective packaging of the appliance.
• Some parts of the appliance may contain residues of insulating material, so after the first switching on, the appliance may smoke. After some time, the smoke will disappear.

Filling with water:

• Before using the steam function, empty the water reservoir. -Open the water filler cap. -Fill the reservoir with cold water.
• Fill the reservoir up to the MAX level (Fig. 1). -Close the cap.

Operation:

-Fully unwind the power cord. -Before switching on the appliance, fully straighten the power cord. -The indicator light (5) will come on.

-Turn the thermostat knob to the required temperature. -For different types of fabric, use only the temperatures indicated on the appliance. Synthetic materials (polyester, nylon...). Silk, wool. Cotton (minimum temperature for ironing).

Max.

• If the garment is made of several types of fabric, select the lowest temperature of these components. (For example, if the garment is made of 60% synthetic and 40% cotton, the setting for synthetic fabrics should be chosen). -Wait until the indicator light (5) goes out. This means that the optimal temperature has been reached.

Steam ironing:

• You can iron with steam if the reservoir is filled and the required temperature is selected. -The appliance is equipped with a handle (1) that allows you to lock the steam button. Thanks to this, continuous steam is provided, and you do not need to press the button all the time.

Vertical ironing

You can iron hanging curtains, clothes directly on the hanger, etc. To do this, follow these steps:

• Select the maximum temperature by turning the thermostat knob clockwise (Fig. x).
• Move the iron from top to bottom with the steam function activated (1).

IMPORTANT: if the iron is used on cotton or linen, it is recommended that the soleplate be in contact with the fabric. For more delicate fabrics, keep the soleplate at a distance of a few centimeters.

After each use:

• Set the minimum temperature (MIN) using the adjustment knob. Disconnect the device from the power supply.
• Drain the water from the reservoir.

Malfunctions and how to fix them

• If you notice a malfunction in the device, contact an authorized service center. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself, as this may be dangerous. - In case of damage to the power cord, do not attempt to replace it yourself; contact an authorized service center.

Maximum temperature for ironing. - Since the soleplate is made of different fabrics, the temperature corresponding to the fabric must be selected. (For example, for a fabric that is 60% polyester and 40% cotton, the temperature corresponding to polyester must be selected). - Wait until the indicator light (5) turns off, which indicates that the soleplate has reached the appropriate temperature.

Steam ironing:

• Steam ironing is possible when the water tank has water and the selected temperature is adequate.
