Frequently Asked Questions - Cleo 3400 X-Slide TAURUS

How to fill the water tank?
Open the water inlet cover, pour water using the filling cup respecting the MAX level, then close the cover. Preferably use distilled water.
How to use the vertical steam function?
Select maximum temperature, then move the iron up and down while pressing the steam control. For cotton and linen, place the soleplate in contact; for delicate fibers, keep it a few centimeters away.
How to perform self-cleaning?
Fill the water tank to maximum, plug in the iron and set to maximum temperature. Wait for the indicator to turn off, unplug, place the iron over the sink, then press and hold the self-cleaning button until the tank is empty.
What type of water to use?
It is recommended to use distilled water, especially if your local water is hard (calcium or magnesium). Mix half distilled water, half tap water if necessary.
How to remove lime scale?
Use a specific anti-scale product for steam irons. Avoid homemade solutions like vinegar. Perform this operation every 6 to 12 weeks depending on water hardness.
What to do if the iron does not heat?
Check that the iron is properly plugged in and the temperature control is not set to MIN. If the indicator does not light up, let it cool and check the socket. If the problem persists, contact technical support.
How to adjust the temperature?
Turn the temperature control to the position corresponding to the fabric: one dot for synthetics, two for silk/wool, three for cotton, MAX for linen. Wait for the indicator light to turn off before ironing.
Can I use the iron without water?
Yes, in dry ironing mode. Set the steam control to minimum. Never fill the water tank while the iron is hot and empty.
How to clean the soleplate?
Unplug the iron and let it cool. Clean the soleplate with a damp cloth with a few drops of dish soap, then wipe dry. Do not use abrasive products or solvents.
What to do if the iron drips?
Make sure the selected temperature is high enough for steam (at least two dots). If the problem persists, activate the anti-drip function by waiting for the temperature to rise, or check that the tank is not overfilled.
