How do I access the configuration menu of the SECCAM800 camera?

Press the Menu button located on the rear panel of the camera. Use the W (wide) and T (tele) buttons to navigate through options. Confirm with the N (near) button to enter submenus.

How do I adjust focus in manual mode?

In the menu, select LENS then FOCUS. Press N to switch from AF (auto focus) to MF (manual). Then use the N and F buttons to adjust focus.

What should I do if the image is too dark or overexposed?

Enable backlight compensation (BLC) in the FUNCTION menu by setting AUTO BACK COMP to ON. This will correct exposure of subjects in front of a strong light source.

How do I reset the camera to factory settings?

In the main menu, use the W button to select RESET, then press N. Caution: this action erases all your custom settings.

Can I use the camera without RS485 connection?

Yes, the camera works in standalone mode. The RS485 connection is only needed if you want to control it remotely via a DVR or dedicated keyboard.

What is the range of the optical zoom?

The camera offers an optical zoom from 3.9 mm to 97.2 mm, i.e. x27 factor. You can also limit the zoom to x22 in the menu by setting TELE to OFF.

How do I clean the camera?

Use a soft dry cloth to clean the housing and lens. Never use solvents, abrasive products or liquids. Disconnect the power before cleaning.

Can the camera be used outdoors?

The operating temperature is -20°C to 50°C, but the camera is not waterproof. It must be installed in a weather-protected environment or in a suitable housing.

How do I assign a unique ID to my camera?

In the FUNCTION menu, select ID. Use N to increase the number and F to decrease it. Each camera on the same RS485 network must have a unique ID.

Why does the image remain black and white even during the day?

Check the DAY/NIGHT setting in the menu. Make sure it is set to AUTO (color -> B&W) or COLOR. If set to BLACK AND WHITE, the image will stay B&W permanently.

Professional CCTV colour camera with 27x digital zoom and day and night function. During daytime the camera offers perfect color images and automatic during nighttime B/W images. Digital zoom and auto focus guarantees always a sharp picture. Digital menu for set-up.

Connections:

• Connect a 12V AC/DC adapter to the power connectors (3).
• Connect the video (coax) cable to the BNC video output (4) and a monitor or recorder.
• RS485: connect the RS485 connection with DVR or Keyboard for communication, to control the lens and menu.

Menu control:

1. Push the menu button to enter the menu.
2. Use the W and T button to navigate in the menu.
3. LENS: push the N button to enter the settings.
4. FOCUS: push the N button to select MF (manual focus) or AF (auto focus).
5. Push the W button to select ZOOM IND. Push the N button to select ON (zoom value is displayed in the picture) or OFF (zoom value is not displayed in the picture)
6. Push the W button to select LOCK. Push the N button to select ON. REMARK: using the lock function will lock all buttons for further use. It's not recommended to lock the buttons. Push the N and menu button to unlock.
7. Push the menu button to return to the main menu.
8. Push the W button to select TELE. Push the N button to select On (27x Zoom) or Off (22x Zoom).
9. Push the W button to select FUNCTION. Push the N button to enter the settings.
10. Push the N button to select AUTO (white) BALANCE On or Off. Light has different colour temperatures; the eye tends to compensate for this so we are seeing, natural colours in most lighting conditions. When set the camera to ON, the camera automatically adjusts the white balance to match the true colour of the subject.
11. Push the W button to select AUTO BACK (light) COMP (ensation).
    Push the N button to select AUTO (white) BALANCE On or Off.
    When switched to On, backlight compensation is video gain to correct the exposure of subjects that are in front of a bright light source.
12. Push the W button to select the ID. Push the N button to increase the number. Push the F button to decrease the number. The function of ID is to have a unique number per camera when more as one camera is in use.
13. Push the W button to select RESET. Pushing the N button will reset the camera to factory settings. REMARK: the use of the RESET function will erase all personal settings.
