We would like to thank you for purchasing
the GENIAL LIGHT from LANAFORM®. GENIAL LIGHT is an apparatus for dispensing light
exposure. It is an ecient and practical
means of allowing you to compensate for
the lack of natural light. The GENIAL LIGHT
provides a very bright light (approximately
10,000 lux) that simulates natural sunshine.
You may use the GENIAL LIGHT while con-
tinuing other activities such as reading,
writing, using the telephone, or even your
professional activities.
The additional light provided by the GENIAL LIGHT during the duller seasons increases
your exposure to light. It can have a positive
inuence on your general mood. Having a
GENIAL LIGHT means that you can appre-
ciate the benets of sunlight even on the
dullest of winter days.
ABOUT LIGHT EXPOSURE Light and its intensity have a major inu-
ence on our vital processes. During the
seasons of autumn and winter, solar radia-
tion decreases. Moreover symptoms result-
ing from a lack of light may appear. Further-
more classic articial lighting in buildings
is not sucient to compensate for this lack
of natural light. The consequences of this
situation can lead to seasonal depression, a
lack of energy, insomnia or melancholy, as
well as the wide range of symptoms covered
by the general expression “autumn or winter
depression”. Light exposure consists of
using a light source of high lux value to
simulate the natural light of the sun. By un-
dergoing regular exposure to a light source
of high lux value over a certain period, the
SAD (Seasonal Aective Disorder) symptoms
can diminish or even disappear.
* A lux is a unit of measurement of light. For
example, a sunny summer’s day corresponds
to approximately 50,000 lux, whereas the
typical light intensity within a building is
