IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

This appliance is for household use and may be plugged into any AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.

SAFETYWARNINGS

1. This machine has been manufactured to "make coffee". Never use other extracts, cocoa powder, camomile, other infusions or soluble substances: these may block the holes in the filter.
2. During cleaning, never immerse the base and the boiler in water: this is an electrical appliance.
3. Be careful to avoid being scalded by spraying water or steam or due to the improper use of the appliance.
4. When using the appliance do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the buttons or handles.
5. After having removed the packaging, check that the appliance is in tact. If in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact a professionally qualified person.
6. The parts of the packaging (plastic bags, etc.) must not be left within the reach of children, as they are potential sources of danger.
7. The manufacturer declines all liability for any damage deriving from improper, erroneous and unreasonable sellers use of the appliance.
8. The appliance must work only connected to a power outlet; never use it directly on flames.
9. Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or feet.
10. Any other power supply parts are forbidden to apply to this coffee maker except the original power base from its manufacturer.

11. When the pitcher is screwed, the black dot--"●" of the pitcher must come to the lock mark--"●"of the boiler.

12. Never artificially build up safety valve, funnel filter, disk filter, pipe, valve-spout.

13. Never artificially press the button continuously during cooking or when the operation is off automatically.

INSTALLATION

1. Place the appliance on a counter/flat stable surface away from water taps and sinks.
2. Check that the voltage of the mains power supply corresponds to the value indicated on the appliance's rating plate. Only connect the appliance to a power outlet with a minimum rating of 6A that is properly earthed. The manufacturer declines all liability for any accidents caused if the system is not correctly earthed.
3. If the power outlet does not match the plug on the appliance, have the outlet replaced with a suitable type by qualified personnel.

INSTRUCTION

Preparing CAPPUCCINO

CAPPUCCINO VALVE-SPOUT

ESPRESSO VALVE-SPOUT

Please fix the CAPPUCCINO VALVE-SPOUT onto the pipe of the pitcher before making cappuccino coffee.

1. Check that the coffee maker is at room temperature, and then unscrew it by holding the boiler with one hand and turning the pitcher anticlockwise with the other (Fig.1).
2. Open the lid, then screw the CAPPUCCINO VALVE-SPOUT clockwise till tight. And press the

reset rod pin down. (Fig.2)

1. Remove the funnel filter (Fig.3).
2. Fill the boiler with water. The ideal level is marked as "3", which stands for 150 ml in volume. Never fill water over the circular mark "MAX" (Fig.4).
   TIP: use fresh and soft water. Salty or hard water will weaken the flavour.
   IMPORTANT: do not use the coffee maker without water in the boiler or alternatively using hot water for faster operation.
3. Insert the funnel filter in the boiler (Fig. 5).
4. Fill the funnel filter with ground coffee, without pressing it (Fig.6). Fill it a little at a time to prevent spilling the ground coffee.
5. Distribute the ground coffee uniformly and remove any excess coffee from the edge of the filter.
   IMPORTANT: Use good quality, medium-ground coffee, for Moka coffee makers.
6. Tighten the coffee maker securely, without pressure/exerting excessive pressure, holding the boiler with one hand and turning the pitcher clockwise with the other, without pushing on the handle (Fig.7).
   IMPORTANT: The black dot--"●" of the pitcher must come to the lock mark--"■" of the boiler.
7. Fill in the fresh milk. The ideal volume of the milk is 190 ml (Fig.8).
8. Rest the coffee maker on the base and close the lid (Fig.9).
9. Press the on/off switch. The pilot light indicates that the coffee maker is on (Fig.10).
10. The coffee will start to be released after a few minutes.
11. When the coffee has brewed, the indicator will go out automatically. Take the pitcher out of the power base. Then the wonderful cappuccino coffee is ready.

IMPORTANT: the first time that the coffee maker is used, all the accessories and the internal circuits should be washed with water. Then make a few batches of coffee to wash away any dirt particles or oils/impurities.

1. When you need to take the pitcher off the boiler, it must be done after the boiler has cooled to room temperature: unscrew with one hand holding the handle and the other hand pressing the bottom on a stable table and so on.

Preparing ESPRESSO

Please fix the ESPRESSO VALVE-SPOUT onto the pipe of the pitcher before making espresso coffee.

1. Check that the coffee maker is at room temperature, and then unscrew it by holding the boiler with one hand and turning the pitcher anticlockwise with the other (Fig.11).

2. Open the lid, screw the ESPRESSO VALVE-SPOUT clockwise till tight. (Fig.12)

3. Remove the funnel filter (Fig.13).
4. Fill the boiler with water under the circular mark "MAX", which stands for

300ml (Fig.14).

TIP: use fresh and soft water. Salty or hard water will weaken the flavour.

IMPORTANT: do not use the coffee maker without water in the boiler or alternatively using hot water for faster operation.

1. Insert the funnel filter in the boiler (Fig. 15).

2. Fill the funnel filter with ground coffee, without pressing it (Fig.16). Fill it a little at a time to prevent spilling the ground coffee.

3. Distribute the ground coffee uniformly and remove any excess coffee from the edge of the filter.

IMPORTANT: Use good quality, medium-ground coffee, for Moka coffee makers.

2. Press the on/off switch. The pilot light indicates that the coffee maker is on (Fig.19).

3. The coffee will start to be released after a few minutes.

4. When the coffee has brewed, the indicator will go out automatically. Take the pitcher out of the power base. Stir the coffee for uniformity before serving it. Then the wonderful espresso coffee is ready.

When preparing just half a pot, the coffee maker should be left on the base for around 5 minutes after brewing, to allow it to reach the ideal temperature.

IMPORTANT: the first time that the coffee maker is used, all the accessories and the internal circuits should be washed with hot water. Then make a few batches of coffee and throw them away.

1. When you need to take the pitcher off the boiler, it must be done after the boiler is cool enough as follow: unscrew with one hand holding the handle and the other hand pressing the bottom on a stable table and so on.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Before performing the cleaning operations, wait for the coffee maker to have cooled down after use.
2. Clean the inside of the tube periodically.
3. Unscrew the valve-spout(Fig.20), and flush and clean the main body and the spout(Fig.21).
4. Regularly check the funnel and the gasket: replace if there are signs of wear or deterioration. Use original spare parts only.
5. Every so often check that the holes in the disk filter are not blocked; if necessary, clean using a pin (Fig.22).
6. Do not wash the coffee maker in the dishwasher.
7. When cleaning do not use solvents or abrasive detergents. Simply clean it with a sponge, keeping attention not to wet the electrical parts.

IMPORTANT: never rinse the boiler and the base under the tap water and never immerse them in water (Fig.23 & 24).

PROBLEM SOLVING AND MAINTENANCE

This product is guaranteed for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is brought back to the purchase address. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.

This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as ceramic items, bulbs etc. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return and bring it to the address of purchase. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
