Frequently Asked Questions - SF2800 ALPINA

How to use the Alpina SF2800 coffee machine for the first time?
Before first use, run 2-3 cycles with water only (no coffee) to rinse the system. Fill the water tank, place the carafe, and turn on the appliance. Let it cool between cycles.
What type of filter to use with the SF2800?
Use size 1x4 paper filters. Open the filter, place the paper, add coffee grounds, then close.
How to adjust the coffee strength?
Use the strength selector on the appliance. Turn it to choose between mild (less coffee) or strong (more coffee). Adjust according to your preference.
What to do if the machine drips when removing the carafe?
The machine is equipped with an anti-drip system: it stops the flow as soon as you remove the carafe. Make sure the carafe is properly placed on the hot plate for the system to work.
How to clean the Alpina SF2800 coffee machine?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Rinse the carafe and filter holder with clean water.
How to descale the coffee maker?
Use a commercial descaling product. Fill the tank with the diluted solution according to instructions, run the machine, then rinse with 2-3 cycles of clear water. Descale regularly to prevent limescale buildup.
Does the hot plate keep the coffee warm?
Yes, the hot plate keeps the coffee at an ideal temperature. Be careful not to leave the carafe empty on the plate to avoid damaging the glass.
What is the power supply voltage of the SF2800?
The appliance operates on 230 V ~ 50 Hz mains. Check that your outlet matches. The power is 850 W.
Does the warranty cover breakdowns?
The 2-year warranty covers manufacturing and material defects. It does not cover normal wear, damage due to misuse, or fragile parts such as glass or bulbs. Keep the proof of purchase.
Can I use the coffee maker without the carafe?
No, you must always place the carafe under the filter for the anti-drip system to work. Without the carafe, coffee would flow onto the hot plate and could cause burns or damage the appliance.
