Your cake/snack maker may smoke a little the first time you use it. This is normal and will soon disappear. Before first use, condition the plates by brushing or wiping a light coating of cooking oil onto the entire cooking surface. Wipe off excess oil with paper towel.

FITTING/REMOVING PLATES Only fit or remove plates when the appliance has completely cooled.

• Fit or remove one plate at a time. • Do not mix plate types. • The donut and waffle plates can be used in any position (upper or lower). The cake plates are marked “Brownie Upper” and “Brownie Lower” and should only be fitted accordingly. To remove a plate, press the upper or lower plate release button then lift the plate out. To fit a plate, align the tabs on the plate with the holes near the hinges in the body of the appliance. Press down on the plate until it clicks and is locked and held in place.

Read the instructions, keep them safe, pass them on if you pass the grill on.

Remove all packaging before use.

Fit both waffle plates.

With the lid closed, plug in your cake/snack maker. The red power light will come on. When the green ready light comes on, lift the latch and open the lid using the lid handle. Pour approximately 130 g of the mixture onto the centre of the lower plate. Don’t use too much or it will seep out during cooking. Close and latch the lid. The green “ready” light will cycle on and off during use. Cook the waffle for approx. 5-6 minutes. For a crispier waffle cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Open the lid using the lid handle and carefully remove the waffle using a non-metallic utensil.

Fit both donut plates.

Follow steps 2 and 3 under Making Waffles. Add enough mixture to just fill the recess in the lower donut plate. Close and latch the lid. The green “ready” light will cycle on and off during use. Allow to cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Open the lid using the lid handle and carefully remove the donuts using a non-metallic utensil.

Fit both cake plates making sure the plate marked “Brownie Upper” goes in the upper (lid) position.

Follow steps 2 and 3 under Making Waffles. Fill each recess in the lower plate approximately two-thirds full with cake mixture. If preferred, you can put a suitably sized cake case in ech recess and fill that with the cake mixture. Close and latch the lid. The green “ready” light will cycle on and off during use. Allow to cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Open the lid using the lid handle and carefully remove the cakes using a non-metallic utensil. Allow the cakes to cool on a wire rack.
