Frequently Asked Questions - ORION OS1700 Eldom

How do I replace the dust bag?
First, switch off and unplug the vacuum. Remove the hose from the inlet seat. Press the lid lock, open the lid, and tilt the appliance vertically. Pull out the frame with the bag. For the canvas bag, slide the plastic strip off, empty it, and slide back. For a paper bag, remove the old bag and insert a new Eldom OSW1700 bag into the frame guides. Reinstall the frame and close the lid.
How do I clean the filters?
The vacuum has two filters: an internal inlet filter (protects the motor) and an external exhaust filter. Access the internal filter by opening the lid and removing the bag. The external filter is accessed by opening its lid. The frames of both filters can be washed with water. The cartridges themselves should not be washed; replace them periodically.
What type of paper bag can I use?
Only use disposable paper bags model Eldom OSW1700. Do not use other brands or types, as they may not fit properly and could damage the appliance.
How do I rewind the power cord?
After use, unplug from the mains. Press and hold the cord rewind switch (located on the appliance). Hold the plug firmly to guide the cord and prevent uncontrolled movement. The cord will automatically rewind.
What does the bag-full indicator mean?
The bag-full indicator is a window that changes colour from white to red when the dust bag is full. If it turns red, you must empty or replace the bag immediately. Never continue vacuuming with the indicator red, as it may reduce suction and strain the motor.
Can I vacuum liquids with this vacuum?
No, this vacuum cleaner is designed for dry use only. Do not vacuum water, wet carpets, or any liquids. Doing so can cause electric shock and damage the appliance.
How do I adjust the suction power?
Suction power can be adjusted in two ways: using the electronic regulator on the handle, or the airflow adjustment slider on the hose. Reduce suction for delicate fabrics like curtains or upholstery.
How should I store the vacuum cleaner?
The vacuum can be stored either vertically or horizontally. It has a handle on the back for parking the suction tube, and a catch on the brush for secure storage.
Why is the suction weak?
Weak suction can be caused by a full dust bag, clogged filters, or a blocked hose/nozzle. Check the bag-full indicator; if red, empty/replace bag. Clean or replace the filters. Inspect the hose and tubes for obstructions.
How do I clean the exterior of the vacuum?
Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild dishwashing detergent to wipe the housing, accessories, and power cord. Do not immerse the appliance in water or use aggressive chemicals, as they may damage the plastic surface.
