Operational safety guidelines

DANGER! / WARNING!
Health hazard
- Never use this electrical appliance, if there is any visible damage, the power cable is damaged, the appliance has fallen or has been damaged in any other way. If you suspect the appliance has been damaged, it may only be checked, repaired or adjusted by a qualified technician of an authorized service center.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- The appliance can only be repaired by qualified service personnel. Improper servicing may cause a serious hazard to the user. In case of defects please contact a qualified service center.
- Before cleaning the espresso machine, and in case of any problems during coffee making, always turn off the appliance and pull the plug out of the socket first.

Do not place your hands underneath steam, hot water or poured coffee, as it may lead to scalds and burns.

The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.

CAUTION!
Not observance can result in damage to possessions
The appliance shall be placed on an even, flat surface at all times.
The container should be filled with clean and cold water only. Do not go over the maximum capacity of the container.
Do not let the power cord touch the hot parts of the coffee maker.
Always turn off the appliance (by means of the ON/OFF button) before plugging it in or out. You should not unplug the appliance by pulling the power cable – grab only the plug instead.
If the appliance is not used for a longer time or is going to be cleaned, always remember to turn it off and unplug it.
Do not use an extension cord with the espresso machine, unless it was checked by a qualified technician or service staff member.
The appliance should be plugged into a power socket with alternating current equipped with a safety pin, and voltage compatible with the one given on the rating plate of the appliance.
Do not let the power cable hang over the edge of a table or shelf, nor touch hot surfaces.
Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
The appliance is not designed to work with exterior time switches or separate remote control systems.

GESTION
Information on the product and suggestions for its use
The appliance is intended for domestic use. In case it is used for food business purposes, the warranty conditions shall change.
Make sure that you understand the above information.

The technical data is given on the rating plate of the appliance.
Water container capacity: max 1.25 l
The espresso machine is a 1st class appliance, equipped with a power cable with a protective conduct and a plug with a safety pin.
The espresso machine fulfills all the current standards.
This device complies with Commission Regulation (EC) no. 1275/2008 on eco-design requirements.
The appliance is in conformity with the following directives:
- Electrical equipment designed for use within specific voltage limits (LVD) – 2006/95/EC.
- Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) - 2004/108/EC.
The rating plate of the appliance has the CE mark on it.

Before first use
Before using your coffee maker for the first time, wash all accessories in warm water with a mild detergent.
During first use it is recommended to rinse the coffee maker three times with water with a small amount of vinegar, and then once with clean water.
Preparing the appliance for operation
In order to prepare your appliance for operation, follow the instructions below.
① Lift the hinged lid of the coffee maker.

Make sure that the jug sits correctly under the coffee nozzle to avoid spills.

To brew coffee, follow the instructions below.
① Place a paper fi Iter in the fi Iter holder.

fl avour and aroma of your coffee will depend on the type of coffee you select. For best results, we recommend ground coffee for use with drip coffee makers.
③ Close the hinged lid of your coffee maker.

If you want to turn off the coffee maker press the ON/OFF button. The indicator light will come off, indicating that the appliance is turned off.

If you are not using your coffee maker for a longer period of time, unplug it from the mains.
Auto power off
By default the appliance is set to automatically switch off after 35 minutes since it was last used.
Cleaning and maintenance

ys unplug the appliance and allow to cool before cleaning.
After each brewing, dispose of the paper fi Iter along with the grounds.
For cleaning, only use delicate cloths with a mild detergent or warm water only.

Sharp cloths or sponges may scratch the metal parts of the coffee maker.
Never use harsh, abrasive or alcohol-based cleaners.

① Lift up the hinged lid of the coffee maker.

Mineral deposits naturally build up in all appliances which heat water. Therefore, the coffee maker will need periodic descaling. We recommend that the coffee maker is descaled every 4-6 months, depending on how often you use it.
DESCALLING SOLUTIONS
The following agents are usually used for removing mineral deposits from the coffee maker:
Vinegar solution
Fill the water tank with the following solution: 1/3 of vinegar, 2/3 of water.
Citric acid solution
Dissolve a sachet of citric acid in 0.5 litre of water.
Special liquids or tablets.

Troubleshooting
If the appliance is not operating properly, check if the below recommendations can help. If not, do not attempt to repair the appliance on your own and contact an authorised service centre.

Ecology – environment protection
Each user can protect the natural environment. It is neither difficult nor expensive.
In order to do it: put the cardboard packing into recycling paper container; put the polyethylene (PE) bags into container for plastic.
