GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS

Warning! Please read all safety warnings, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow them may result in electric shock, fire or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term "power tool" used in the warnings refers to all corded and cordless electric power tools.

Workplace safety

Keep your work area clean and well lit. Clutter and poor lighting can cause accidents.

Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or fumes.

Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

EN

Do not allow children or bystanders into the work area. Loss of concentration can cause loss of control.

Electrical safety

The plug on the electric cord must match the outlet. Do not modify the plug in any way. Do not use any plug adapters with grounded power tools. An unmodified plug that matches the outlet reduces the risk of electric shock.

Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, and refrigerators. Grounding your body increases the risk of electric shock.

Do not expose power tools to precipitation or moisture. Water or moisture entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

Do not overload the power cord. Do not use the power cord to carry, pull, or disconnect the plug from the wall outlet. Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts. A damaged or entangled power cord increases the risk of electric shock.

When working outdoors, use extension cords designed for outdoor use. Using an extension cord designed for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

If using a power tool in a damp environment is unavoidable, a residual current device (RCD) should be used as protection against supply voltage. The use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Even a moment of inattention while operating a power tool can result in serious personal injury.

Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. The use of personal protective equipment such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, and hearing protection reduces the risk of serious personal injury.

Prevent accidental starting. Ensure that the power switch is in the "off" position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the power tool. Carrying a power tool with your finger on the switch or energizing a power tool that has the switch in the "on" position can result in serious injury.

Remove any wrench or key that is used to adjust the power tool before turning it on. A wrench or key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in serious injury.

Do not overreach or overextend. Maintain proper posture and balance at all times. This will make it easier to control the power tool in the event of unexpected situations while working.

Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair and clothing away from moving parts of the power tool. Loose clothing, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction or dust collection facilities, ensure that these are connected and used correctly. The use of dust extraction reduces the risk of dust-related hazards.

Don't let the experience gained from frequent use of the tool cause you to become careless and ignore safety rules.

Careless action can cause serious injuries in a split second.

Use and care of power tools

Do not overload the power tool. Use the correct power tool for the selected application. The correct power tool will provide better and safer work when used for the designed load.

Do not use a power tool if the power switch does not turn it on and off. A tool that cannot be controlled with the power switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

Disconnect the plug from the power outlet and/or remove the battery pack if detachable from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool. Such precautions will prevent the power tool from being switched on accidentally.

Store the tool out of the reach of children, do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to use the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

Maintain power tools and accessories. Check the tool for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. Any damage should be repaired before using the power tool. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained tools.

Cutting tools should be kept clean and sharp. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control during operation.

Use power tools, accessories and attachments etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the type and conditions of work. Use of tools for work other than those designed may result in a hazardous situation.

Keep handles and gripping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do not allow safe operation and control of the tool in hazardous situations.

Repairs

Have your power tool repaired only by authorized service centers, using only original spare parts. This will ensure proper safety of your power tool.

SAFETY WARNINGS FOR RECIPIROCATING SAWS

Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own wire. The cutting tool contacting a live wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool live and could give the operator an electric shock.

Use clamps or other practical methods to securely secure and support the workpiece on a stable platform. Holding the workpiece by hand or pressing it against your body makes it unstable and may lead to loss of control.

INSTALLATION OF EQUIPMENT ELEMENTS

NOTE! The equipment may only be assembled when the power supply is disconnected. Pull the plug out of the power socket. The jigsaw is delivered complete. After opening the factory packaging, check whether all the equipment elements have been packed. Then check the condition of the connections and tighten them with an Allen key if necessary.

PREPARING FOR WORK

Attention! All activities related to the assembly and replacement of saw blades, adjustment and maintenance of the power tool must be carried out with the power supply voltage of the tool switched off, therefore before starting these activities: Remove the plug from the power socket!

Installing and replacing the saw blade (II)

Check whether the installed saw blade is not damaged, cracked, whether the cutting teeth are not broken, etc. If damage is found, replace the saw blade with a new one.

The blade included with the jigsaw is used for cutting wooden surfaces and wood-based materials (MDF boards, chipboards, etc.).

Allen key to loosen the saw blade mounting screws and, if necessary, remove the saw blade from the holder.

Insert the new saw blade into the saw blade holder.

Tighten the mounting screws so that the saw blade is held firmly and securely.

Setting the cutting angle

The tool allows you to adjust the cutting angle. To set the desired angle, you must:

Allen key to loosen the tool foot screws (III).

Set the desired cutting angle according to the scale (from -45 to +45 degrees).

Tighten the tool foot screws firmly and securely.

Blade speed setting (IV)

The jigsaw is equipped with a knob that allows you to set the speed of the blade movement. Turning the knob towards the "+" symbol increases the speed of the blade movement, while turning it towards the - symbol decreases it.

The speed should be selected experimentally, for example by cutting scrap material. A lower speed should be used when cutting plastics or aluminum. The speed should also be reduced if the blade jams during cutting.

Guide assembly (V)

When cutting in a straight line, use a guide that allows you to guide the jigsaw along the edge of the material being cut. When cutting in a straight line, avoid guiding the jigsaw only with your hands and wherever possible use a guide or other devices that allow you to guide the tool.

The guide should be inserted into the slots of the base and its position should be locked using the fastening screws. Always insert the guide into both slots of the base, this is the only way to ensure that the guide foot is parallel to the jigsaw base.

Other activities

After checking the saw blade and securing it securely, setting the cutting angle and the blade angle, you should also:

Make sure that movable guards are operating properly.

Make sure that all cover system rotation mechanisms are operating properly.

Wear eye protection, hearing protection, and work gloves.

Secure the workpiece to the workstation (e.g. using clamps, a vice, etc.).

When cutting surfaces made of hardwood (oak, beech, hornbeam), it is recommended to connect a device to the external nozzle to extract the dust generated during processing.

USING THE TOOL

Before starting work, make sure that the blade guard is correctly fitted. Wear eye protection, ear protection and work gloves. Secure the workpiece to the work station, e.g. with clamps, a vice etc. Never hold the material being cut using only your hands or other parts of your body. When cutting, support the material at its edges and near the cutting line. Supports should be placed on both sides of the cutting line so that the blade does not jam in the kerf during cutting. The base must rest on the material being cut

EN

with its entire surface during cutting. Connect the dust extraction system to the dust extraction outlet.

Turning the jigsaw on and off

At the work site, make sure that the surface is even, stable and free of contamination.

Adopt a confi dent and stable stance.

Hold the tool by the handle. Do not rest the working parts of the tool against any object or item.

Press the switch with your finger and hold it. Check that the blade moves freely and that the tool does not vibrate suspiciously or excessively. There is no smoke or suspicious smell coming from it. If you notice any deviations from correct operation, turn off the jigsaw, disconnect the plug from the mains and take it to an authorised repair centre.

The switch is equipped with a lock that can be used during long-term cutting. If necessary, press the switch lock button to set continuous operation. The lock is released by pressing the switch.

The tool is switched off after unlocking and releasing the pressure on the switch. After switching off, the blade continues to move for some time.

Cutting in a straight line

Before starting to cut, it is recommended to mark the cutting line on the material, for example with a pencil. You should also make sure that the material being cut does not contain elements of a different hardness. For example, the wood being cut cannot contain nails, staples or other metal elements. You should also avoid electrical wires that may be hidden in the material being cut.

Rest the front of the tool base against the material being cut so that the blade does not touch it.

Turn the tool on and allow the blade to reach full set speed.

Start cutting by guiding the jigsaw with both hands. While cutting, press the jigsaw against the ground and at the same time guide it smoothly along the cutting line. Use the minimum pressure that allows for correct operation. Avoid tilting the jigsaw, hitting the material being cut with the blade and changing the cutting direction. Failure to follow the above instructions may result in the blade jamming in the material being cut, damage or destruction (crack) of the blade or the material being cut, as well as damage to the jigsaw itself.

When cutting hard metal such as steel, take frequent breaks to cool the blade.

Intersecting in a curved line

Follow all the instructions for straight cutting, but use blades designed for cutting arcs. They have a narrower blade than straight cutting blades and make it easier to cut arcs.

When cutting holes, mark the shape of the hole to be cut, then drill a hole at its edge with a diameter larger than the width of the saw blade. The wall of the drilled hole should touch the line of the marked hole that will be cut. Insert the jigsaw blade into the hole and start cutting.

Additional notes

The tool must not be overloaded, the temperature of the external surfaces must never exceed 60^ .

After finishing work, turn off the jigsaw, remove the plug from the electrical socket and perform maintenance and inspection.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTIONS

NOTE! Before starting any adjustments, maintenance or servicing, unplug the tool from the power outlet. After finishing work, check the technical condition of the power tool by visually inspecting it and assessing: the body and handle, the electric cable with the plug and bending protection, the operation of the electric switch, the patency of the ventilation slots, the sparking of the brushes, the noise level of the bearings and gears, the start-up and the smoothness of the operation. During the warranty period, the user may not add any power tools or replace any components or parts, as this will void the warranty. Any irregularities observed during the inspection or during work are a signal to carry out repairs at a service point. After finishing work, the housing, ventilation slots, switches, additional handle and covers should be cleaned, for example, with an air jet (with a pressure of no more than 0.3 MPa), a brush or a dry cloth without using any chemicals or cleaning fluids. Clean the tools and handles with a dry, clean cloth.
