Recommendations for the appliance use

WARNING! The surface of the grate may be hot after use. Do not touch it, as it may cause severe burns. Allow the grate, heating element and drip tray to cool. When preparing dishes that may spread hot food fragments, personal protective equipment should be worn to protect from burns. Make sure that the floor near the appliance is not slippery. This will prevent slipping, which can cause serious injuries. Observe the food at all times and prevent it from burning during its preparation. Food left unattended can burn, which can cause fire and serious burns. Food should be placed directly on the grate. Do not place plates, trays or aluminium foil under the food. The grilling time depends on the thickness of the food. Turn the food occasionally to avoid burning. When preparing food, the surface of the grate should only be touched with suitable tools that can withstand the temperature of the heated grate. The tools should be able to withstand the temperature generated by the grate. It is forbidden to remove and distribute food using hands. If any food is left on the grate during or after preparation, remove the food remains before preparing another dish. Food leftovers can be burned, causing smoke, unpleasant smell, and affect the taste of the prepared food. They may also be

EN

the cause of fire. Use tools that can withstand the temperature of the hot grate for removal.

OPERATING THE APPLIANCE

Installation, start-up and operation of the appliance

The appliance must be unpacked, and all parts of the packaging completely removed. It is recommended to keep the packaging, as it can be helpful for further transport and storage of the appliance.

Assemble the appliance according to all assembly steps. Start assembling the unit by fitting the legs to the bottom shelf. To do this, insert the leg attachments into the holes located on the underside of the bottom shelf and then fix them using the fixing screws provided (II). Place the legs of the grill in the attachments and then place the caps (III) on the ends of the legs. Place the mounted legs on a flat, hard and even surface and check that all legs are in contact with the surface (IV). Otherwise repeat the mounting procedure. Insert the column extension pieces into the holes located in the top of the lower shelf, and then place the grill housing (IV) over their ends. Place the drip tray and then the heating element in the grill housing (V). Place the grate in the holes provided in the grill housing attachments (VI). You can choose between two mounting heights for the grate by placing the grate in the holes located on the right or left side of the attachments (VI). Attach the cover to the grill housing and then the preheating grill (VII). In the next step, insert the side shelves into the hooks located on the right and left side of the grill housing (VIII).

Once assembly is complete, place it on a level and hard surface and check that it stands stable and does not tilt. Ensure that the heating element is correctly positioned in the appliance housing. Before use, prepare the appliance according to the instructions under “Maintenance of the appliance”.

Ensure that the unit is completely cooled down. Ensure that the appliance's power plug is disconnected from the mains socket. It is recommended to pour cold water into the drip tray in order to prevent the formation of a fire as a result of fat melting during food preparation. The water level marked on the drip tray "MIN" indicates the minimum water level, while that marked "MAX" indicates the maximum water level. It is forbidden to pour water above the maximum level marked on the grill tray and other liquids such as cold, clean water. The appliance can also be used without water.

Ensure that the temperature control is set to the off position, marked "MIN", before plugging in the power cord. Connect the appliance to the power source.

The temperature of the heating element can be set using the thermostat knob. By turning the knob in the direction of the maximum temperature marked "MAX", the heater will begin to heat up, which will be indicated by the light next to the thermostat knob lighting up. When the heater is heated to the set temperature, the indicator light will go out. The appliance has a system that automatically controls the temperature of the heater, turning it on and off. The frequency at which the heater switches on is determined by the set temperature and the ambient temperature. The higher the set temperature and the lower the ambient temperature, the more often the heater will be switched on.

If a lower temperature is set after a higher setting, the heater will need time to cool down on its own. The heater is not equipped with any forced cooling system. The cooling of the heater should also not be accelerated, e.g. by forced ventilation.

The heating element and the grate heat up to a high temperature, contact of these elements with the unprotected body can lead to serious burns. When preparing food, care should be taken not to touch the grate, and the food should be checked using appropriate utensils, e.g. tongs or paddles made of plastic or wood. When selecting tools, it is important to take into account that they can withstand the temperature of the heated grate.

There is a drip tray underneath the grate and heating element, it collects fat and other liquids that drip off the grate during food preparation. The drip tray should be emptied after each use of the appliance, and the level of filling should be checked during operation. Warning! The contents of the tray, the tray and the bowl can be very hot during and immediately after use. Allow all items to cool completely before emptying the tray. If the tray needs to be emptied during operation, take extra care and use heat protective clothing and gloves.

When finished, turn the thermostat knob to the "MIN" position, then unplug the power cord from the socket, wait for all the appliance components to cool down automatically, and then proceed with maintenance.

Appliance maintenance

ATTENTION! All maintenance activities must be performed with the appliance disconnected from the mains. To do this, unplug the power cord plug from the socket. The appliance must also be completely cooled down.

The appliance is used to prepare food placed directly on the grate, therefore care must be taken to maintain proper hygiene so that the preparation of food is safe. Remove the grate and warming shelf from the grill. The parts can be washed under a stream of warm running water with dishwashing liquid.

The heater can be protected with a preservative agent for transport and storage. Before first use, heat the unit to maximum temperature and allow all preservative residues to evaporate. The evaporating preservative agent can cause smoke, which is a normal phenomenon. Therefore, evaporation should be carried out in a place with efficient ventilation. Do not inhale the vapours

EN

of the preservative agent. When this is finished, smoke stops flowing, unplug the unit from the power supply, wait until the unit has cooled down completely. Only then can the appliance be used for food preparation.

CAUTION! Never immerse the heater in water or any other liquid. Remove any contamination of the heater caused by food preparation with a soft cloth soaked in water. Do not use sharp tools to clean the heater, such as a scraper or brush with metal bristles.

Clean the remaining parts of the appliance with a cloth soaked in a water solution of a mild dishwashing liquid. Remove any residues of the solution with a cloth soaked in water. After cleaning, wipe the appliance dry.

The heater and the grate and drip tray should be cleaned after each use, having first allowed the elements to cool completely. Remove any food residue remaining on the heater, grate and drip tray to prevent it from burning when the appliance is used again, and to prevent its performance from being impaired. Do not use solvents, caustics, petrol alcohol, abrasives or sharp tools for cleaning.

The drip trays should be removed from the appliance and cleaned with dishwashing liquid under running water.

Troubleshooting

The heating element is equipped with a safety switch. This prevents the heating element from starting up outside the appliance. If the heating does not switch on, check the connection to ensure that the heating element is correctly seated in the grill housing.

Storage

Keep the unit unplugged from the power supply.

During storage, keep the appliance indoors, and make sure it is not exposed to dust, dirt, or moisture. Store the appliance in its working position. Do not stack products in layers. Do not place other items on the product during storage.
