Follow the instructions in the manual: first determine the door hand, then choose the installation method (standard, push, or parallel). Mark the positions, fix the door closer body, assemble the main arm, adjust the fore arm length, and snap on the cap. Use a Phillips screwdriver.

What is the maximum door weight supported?

The D404 door closer supports a maximum door weight of 85 kg (187 lb). Do not exceed this limit to ensure safe operation.

How to adjust the closing speed and latching speed?

Turn the speed adjustment valves on the door closer body: turn clockwise to slow down, counterclockwise to speed up. Do not unscrew the valves completely to avoid leaks.

Can I install this door closer on a wooden door?

Yes, the D404 is compatible with wooden and metal doors. Use the provided screws for wooden doors (ST6.3×30 and ST5.5×20) and follow the drilling instructions.

What tools are needed for installation?

A Phillips screwdriver is required. If using a power tool, reduce speed and be careful. It is recommended to have two people for assembly.

How to determine the door opening direction?

Stand on the push side of the door. If the hinges are on the left, it is a left-handed door; if on the right, it is a right-handed door. The diagram in the manual helps you identify.

Installation Instructions

1. Select degree of door .Use dimensions shown in chart and ill above to mark location of attaching screws on door and frame holes.
2. Assemble main arm to closer.
3. Attach closer to door with speed regulating valves toward hing
4. Attach the foot of the forearm to frame.
5. Adjust length of forearm to position forearm at right angle to when connected to main arm at elbow use washer and screw secure pivot connection. Tighten lock nut on forearm.

6. Snap pinion cap over spindle at bottom of closer.

7. Standard installation position of arms and index setting
   

CLOSING SPEED CONTROL

Attention:

Adjust closing speed time to between 46 seconds from 90^ use of the door handicapped.Elderly or small children must require longer closing time.

Installation Instructions

Select degree of door. Use dimensions shown in chart and illustrate above to mark location of attaching screws on door and frame holes.

Attach closer to door with speed regulating valves back to hinge Attach main arm as follow:

(a) Place open end wrench on bottom shaft & turn toward hing 30^ .

(b) Place main arm on top shaft, Insert arm screw into top of s tighten.

Attach pa plate to top frame as shown.

Remove foot from forearm and discard.

Fasten forearm to pa plate.

Adjust length of forearm to position main arm at parallel to fran connected to main arm at elbow use washer and screw provide secure pivot connection. Tighten lock nut.

Snap pinion cap over spindle at bottom.
