How should I proceed for first use?

Remove all stickers and protective films. Fill the water tank (do not exceed MAX). Plug in the appliance, press the power button, select the maximum temperature, and iron a damp cloth for a few minutes to remove any residues.

What do the indicator lights on the control panel mean?

The temperature indicator flashes while heating and stays on when the iron is ready. The steam output indicators 1, 2, 3 show the selected level; if they flash, steam is being prepared. The fill indicator lights up if the water level is too low. The descaling indicator alerts you to the need for descaling.

How do I activate the steam jet function?

Press the steam trigger twice quickly within one second. You can then use the steam jet for stubborn wrinkles.

What should I do if the fill indicator lights up?

The appliance emits two beeps and stops working. Remove the water tank, fill it through the fill opening without exceeding the MAX mark, then put it back. The generator will resume operation.

How do I clean the iron's soleplate?

After cooling, use a damp cloth or a non-abrasive cleaning product (liquid). Never use chemicals, steel objects, wood, or abrasive cleaners to scrape the soleplate.

How do I descale my Gorenje SGD3000BKV steam generator?

Make sure the appliance is completely cooled. Turn the base upside down on a stable surface, place a towel over the cap and unscrew it. Drain the water, then fill with clean water to rinse. Screw the cap back on and put the base back in place.

These instructions are intended for the user.

They describe the iron and how to use it. They also apply to different types of appliances, therefore you may find some descriptions of functions that may not apply to your appliance.

Never touch the surfaces of heating or ironing sole plate. They will become hot during operation. Keep children at a safe distance. There is a risk of burning!

• Read all instructions.
• Before using, check and make sure that the voltage of wall outlet corresponds to the one shown on the rating plate.
• Do not use the appliance if the main cord, plug, light or the appliance itself shows visible damage, or the appliance has been dropped or is leaking. Take it to the nearest authorized service facility or a qualified serviceman for examination and repair in order to avoid a hazard.

BEFORE USE

Each steam rate is provided with its corresponding temperature setting. When ironing, select the proper temperature setting according to the type of clothes.

BEFORE USE

BEFORE FIRST USE

• Remove any sticker or protective foil from the sole plate.
• Iron a piece of damp cloth under the maximum temperature for several minutes for the purpose of removing any residue on the sole plate according to the section of “Steam ironing”.

NOTES:

It is normal that strange odor comes out from the unit for the first use. This will cease after a short while.

Some particles may come out of the soleplate when you use the iron for the first time. This is normal; the particles are harmless and stop coming out of the iron after a short while.

After you switch on the appliance, the water pump in the unit base may produce a sound when spraying steam.

During the heating process of the soleplate, there will be little water coming out from the soleplate automatically and this phenomenon will continue for about 3 seconds. This is normal.

Water tank release button

Press the Water tank release button and carefully grasp the water tank handle to remove the water tank from the unit base.

Filling aperture

Fill the water tank with water through the filling aperture. Make sure that the water shall not exceed the MAX mark on water tank.

Temperature indicator

When the iron is heating up, the Temperature indicator will flash. Once the iron has reached the selected temperature, it will illuminate solidly. And the Temperature indicator will illuminate solidly during ironing.

Steam trigger

When the steam is ready, press and hold the Steam trigger with a little force, the steam will be sprayed from the sole plate continuously.

NOTE

When loosen the steam trigger, the appliance can only be used for dry ironing without steam.

BEFORE USE

Shot of steam

Press the steam trigger twice within 1 second to activate the shot of steam function and then you can use the shot of steam to remove the tough wrinkle.

Iron lock and Iron lock release button

When the iron is locked on the thermal insulation stand, press the Iron lock release button to unlock the iron lock, then the iron can be removed from the thermal insulation stand for ironing. When the iron lock is unlocked, the iron can be placed on the thermal insulation stand. When the iron is placed on the thermal insulation stand, press down the iron lock and then the iron is locked on the thermal insulation stand, at that time, the whole appliance can be lifted up for carrying conveniently.

Power button

Plug in the appliance and press down the Power button, the Power indicator will illuminate, the Steam rate 1 is regarded as defaulted one and its indicator will flash. Hold and press the Power button for about 2 seconds, and the appliance will be disconnected from the power supply.

Cord winding groove

When not in use, the steam supply hose can be wound along the Cord winding groove for storage.

USING YOUR STEAM GENERATOR

Steam rate control button "UP ARROW" & "DOWN ARROW"

Press the Steam rate control button “UP” & “DOWN” to make switch among the Steam rate 1, Steam rate 2 and Steam rate 3, and one beep can be heard when making switch. And the corresponding indicator of selected steam rate will light solidly.

NOTE: If Steam rate indicator is blinking, base is preparing steam. Once Steam rate indicator is solid, station is ready for ironing.

Refill indicator

The refill indicator will illuminate and two beeps can be heard as well as the steam generator will stop working if the water tank is lack of water. At that time, you should remove the water tank and refill it with water through the filling aperture, then replace the water tank well in position.

Calc/clean indicator

If the descaling indicator illuminates, it indicates that the steam generator should be cleaned because mineral deposits have accumulated to a certain degree. When the system ensures that the mineral deposits have been removed, the indicator will turn off.

Automatic power off

The appliance will turn off automatically if there is no operation within 10 minutes under normal standby mode. To restart the appliance, just press the Power button again. The appliance will enter energy-saving mode when it does not release steam for a long time at first use. To exit energy-saving mode, press and hold the steam trigger for more than 2 seconds; at that time, the indicator of the selected steam rate will blink, and the appliance will release steam after the indicator blinks for 30 seconds.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, first disconnect the power outlet and let the appliance cool down.

1. Wipe the flakes and any other deposits on the soleplate with a damp cloth or a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner.

NOTE: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners to scrape the soleplate.

1. Clean the upper part of the iron with a soft damp cloth. Wipe the water drops on the unit base and the thermal insulation stand with a dry cloth.
2. To remove the mineral deposits that collect in the inner steam generator, follow the operation below:
3. First, turn the unit base upside down and place it on a level surface horizontally, making sure that the unit base is placed stably.
4. Then, cover a towel on the knob and rotate the knob with the towel to detach it.
5. After that, drain the steam generator, then refill it with clean water to clean it well.

WARNING: To avoid a risk of injury, make sure the steam generator has been cooled down completely before removing the knob.

• After drainage, tighten the knob and make the unit base stand again.
• When not using the appliance for a long time, empty the water in the tank, and put the iron on the thermal insulation stand and then press the iron lock to lock the iron well.
