Protection Class I

Wear safety glasses and hearing protection for protection of your eyes and ears.

Wear protective gloves for protection of your hands.

Do not use the appliance in wet or humid conditions for protection of electric shock.

Don't climb on the device.

Take care that no metal parts, stones, bottles, cans or other debris are included when introducing material into the appliance.

Danger! Rotating blades. Keep hands and feet out of openings while machine is running. Do not reach into the intake opening or the discharge chute. The blades will continue to rotate for approx. 5 seconds after the appliance has been switched off.

WARNING! When using electric garden tools basic safety precautions, should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury.
GENERAL
a) Become familiar with the instruction manual before attempting to operate this machine.
b) Do not allow children to operate this equipment. Local regulations may restrict the age of the operator. When not in use store the machine out of reach of children.
c) This machine is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the machine by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the machine.
d) Before switching on the appliance, it must be assembled according to the original instructions.
e) It is recommended to use a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30mA . Before use, always check your RCD for function.
f) Only use extension cables that comply with H07VV-F or H07RN-F types and which are intended
for outdoor use and are protected against splashes of water.
g) Do not connect a damaged cord to the supply or touch a damaged cord before it is disconnected from supply. A damaged cord can lead to be contacted with live parts.
h) Do not touch the plug or socket with wet hands.
PREPARATION
a) Do not operate this equipment in the vicinity of bystanders.
b) Other persons and animals should remain at a distance of 3 metres or more when the appliance is being used. The operator is responsible for third persons in the working area.
c) Before starting the machine, check that all screws, nuts, bolts and other fasteners are properly secured and that guards and screens are in place.
d) Replace damaged or unreadable warning and operating labels.
e) Avoid wearing loose-fitting clothing, hanging cords or ties.
f) Only operate the machine in open space (e.g. not close to a wall or other fixed object) and on a firm, level surface.
g) Do not operate the machine on a paved or gravel surface where ejected material could cause injury.
h) Check if guards and protective devices are undamaged and properly mounted. Before using, carry out any necessary maintenance and repairs.
OPERATION
a) Before starting the machine, look into the intake opening to make certain that it is empty.
b) Keep your face and body away from the intake opening.
c) Wear protective gloves, sturdy shoes and long trousers.
d) Do not allow hands or any other part of the body or clothing inside the intake opening, discharge chute, or near any moving part.
e) During operation, do not reach into the intake opening. The machine runs on for a few seconds after being switched off.
f) If the cutting mechanism strikes any foreign objects or if the machine should start making any unusual noise or vibration, immediately switch off and allow the machine to stop. Remove the plug from the mains supply and take the following steps:
- Inspect for damage.
- Check for and tighten any loose parts.
- Replace or repair damaged parts with original components if necessary.
g) Keep proper balance and footing at all times. Do not overreach. Never stand at a higher level than the base of the machine when feeding material.
h) Keep extension cords away from the shredding means. The shredding means can cause damage to the cords and lead to contact with live parts.
i) Always stand clear of the discharge zone when operating the machine.
j) If the machine becomes clogged, switch off and allow the cutter to stop. Remove the plug from the mains supply before clearing debris.
k) When feeding material into the machine be extremely careful that pieces of metal, rocks, bottles, cans or other foreign objects are not included.
I) Do not tilt the machine while it is running.
m) Never transport, pick up or carry the machine while the motor is running.
n) Switch off, allow the cutter to stop and remove the plug from the mains supply whenever you leave the work area.
o) Do not allow processed material to build up in the discharge zone; this may prevent proper discharge and can result in kickback of material through the intake opening.
p) Do not force the appliance. It is working safer and better at the intended workload range.
q) Do not run over, crush or pull the extension cable, otherwise it may be damaged. Protect the cable from heat, oil, heavy load and sharp edges.
r) Do not use the machine in the rain, during danger of lightning or leave it outdoors when it is raining.
s) Empty the collection box frequently. Do not wait until the collection box is completely full as this can cause blockage at the extraction chute.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
a) When the machine is stopped for servicing, inspection, or storage, or to change an accessory, switch off and remove the plug from the mains supply and allow the machine to cool. Make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop before making any inspections, adjustments, etc.
b) If an extension cord is used it shall not be of lighter grade than the supply cord already fitted to the appliance.
c) Check the supply and any extension cord regularly for damage or signs of ageing. Do not use the appliance, if the cords are damaged.
d) When servicing the cutting means be aware that, even though the
motor will not start due to the interlock feature of the guard, the cutting means can still be moved if the motor is turned by hand.
e) Never attempt to override the interlock feature of the guard.
f) Maintain the machine with care and keep it clean.
g) Examine the machine and replace worn or damaged parts with original components if necessary.
h) Always allow the machine to cool before storing.
i) Keep the motor cooling vents clean of debris and other accumulations to prevent damage to the motor or possible fire.
j) Do not expose the machine to rain. Only store the machine in a dry place out of reach of children.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ON RISKS DUE TO VIBRATION
a) The declared vibration data represents the main applications of the tool, but different uses of the tool or poor maintenance can result in different vibration data. This may significantly increase the vibration level over the total working period.
b) Additional safety measure shall be taken to protect the user from effects of vibration. Maintain the tool and its accessories, keep hands warm and organize work patterns and periods.

Intended Use
The machine is intended for shredding of wooden and fibrous garden waste for compost purposes, like:
- Twigs and Branches up to a of 40mm
- Waste from trimming and pruning bushes and hedges.
Plant materials like leaves, roots and other garden waste.
Any other use or modification to the machine is considered as improper use and could cause considerable dangers.
The machine is not intended for commercial use.
Using the machine
Caution! Before start using the machine, check the protective devices and fastening elements for damage.
Do not use the machine if it is damaged.
- Inspect the material to be shredded before starting. Remove any objects that are not suitable for shredding or could entangle the blades [metal parts, stones, bottles, cans, etc].
- Place the machine on a firm level ground and do not move it during operation.
- Use the ON switch 13 to switch the machine on and wait until the motor has reached full speed.
- Insert the shredding material into the intake opening 7, but do not overload the machine.
- Make sure the shredded material can fall freely into the collection box 9.
- Use the plunger 1 to push smaller material down to the blades.
- Regularly clean the collection box from shredded material.
Warning! Only use the plunger in order to push material down to the blades.
Preparing the shredder
1 Install the wheels 6 and feet 11 to the rack 10 as shown. Install the wheel covers 12 to the wheels 6.
2 Install the machine to the rack 10 as shown, by use of 4 screws and washers.
Caution! Make sure the appliance is switched off and unplugged.
Collection box
1 Slide the empty collection box 9 into the rack 10, so that the lock lever 5 is facing towards the wheels 6.
2 Pull the lock lever 5 upwards to lock the collection box 9 in place.
Extension cord
1 Open the lid of the power connector 4.
2 Plug the extension cord to the power connector 4.

Caution! Only use extension cables intended for outdoor and not lighter than 1,5mm^2

Use a wall socket with a Residual Current Device (RCD) a tripping current of not more 30mA .
Blade adjustment
1 Turn the blade adjustment knob 8 into (+) direction until the blade touches metal. Turn the knob back 1/4 turn.
Plunger
2 Only use the plunger 1 to push smaller material down to the blades.

Caution! Only adjust the blade while the machine is ing.
Rotation direction
1 Press the upper part of the direction switch 15 to set the motor to reverse operation.
2 Press the lower part of the direction switch 15 to set the motor to forward operation.

The motor is locked, if the direction switch is in center position.
Circuit breaker
1 In case of overload, the circuit breaker 14 trips to prevent the machine from damage. See section Circuit breaker for further information.
Circuit breaker
The machine features a circuit breaker that is activated under the following circumstances:
- Too much shredding material around the blades.
- Too much shredding material for the motor capacity.
- Too much resistance against the blades.
If the circuit breaker has activated, take the following steps:
- Press the OFF button 16 and pull the plug.
- Let the motor cool down for a view minutes.
- Set the direction switch 15 to reverse operation.
- Reconnect the machine to the power supply, press the circuit breaker 14 button and press the ON switch 13.
- Press the OFF button 16 and pull the plug.
- Carefully remove the blockage from the intake opening 7.
- Reconnect the machine to the power supply and set the direction switch 15 to forward operation.
- To continue shredding, press the ON switch 13.
Care & Maintenance
Warning! Make sure the machine is switched off and unplugged.
- Always keep the machine clean, dry and free of oil or grease.
- Wear safety glasses and gloves to protect your eyes and hands whilst cleaning.
- For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean.
- Regularly check for obvious defects and/or damaged components.
- Periodically check all fixings. These could become loose with time due to vibration.
- The most used part is the blade. Inspect the blades regularly:
- If the blade is worn or blunt, it must be replaced immediately.
- If the machine starts to vibrate excessively, the blades seem to be unbalanced and must be replaced.
- Replace any worn or damaged parts.
- If the body of the machine needs cleaning, wipe it with a brush or a soft damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used but nothing like alcohol, petrol or other cleaning agent.
- Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
- Lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
- Store the machine in a dry place and out of the reach of children.
Danger! If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard.
