USER MANUAL KMG 4151 Koenic

  • This product shall not be used by children. Keep the product and its cord out of reach of children.
  • This product can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are under supervision or have been given instruction concerning the use of the product in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
    Children shall not play with the product.
  • Regularly check the power plug and power cord for damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a danger or injury.
  • Danger of injury! Care shall be taken when handling the sharp cutting blades, emptying the bowl and during cleaning.
    Always disconnect the product from the mains if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
  • Switch off the product and disconnect it from the mains before changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.
  • Never use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They could pose a safety risk to the user and might damage the product. Only use original parts and accessories.
  • Do not continuously operate the product for too long to avoid overheating the motor. The continuous operation time must not exceed 10 minutes. Let the product cool down for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  • Do not touch the blade, blade guard and moving parts. Keep fingers, hair, clothing and utensils away from all moving parts.
  • Use the product only for its intended purpose and with recommended accessories and components. Improper use or wrong operation may lead to hazards and cause injuries.

Observe all safety instructions to avoid damage through improper use!

  1. Keep this instruction manual for future use. Should this product be passed on to a third party, then this instruction manual must be included.
  2. Before connecting the product to the power supply, make sure that the power supply voltage and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown on the product rating label.
  3. Never use a damaged product! Disconnect the product from the electrical outlet and contact your retailer if it is damaged.
  4. To avoid damaging the cord, do not squeeze, bend or chafe it on sharp edges. Keep it away from hot surfaces and open flames as well. Do not let rotating blades touch the power cord.
  5. Lay out the cord in such a way that no unintentional pulling or tripping over it is possible.
  6. If an extension cord is used, its capacity needs to be suitable for the power consumed by the product.
  7. Do not operate the product with wet hands or while standing on a wet floor. Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
  8. Do not open the product casing under any circumstances. Do not insert any foreign objects into the inside of the casing.
  9. Do not place any objects on top of the product. Do not place objects with open flames, e.g. candles, on top of or beside the product. Do not place objects filled with water, e.g. cooking pots, on or near the product.
  10. Do not pull the power plug out of the electrical outlet by the power cord and do not wrap the power cord around the product.

  11. Connect the power plug to an easily reachable electrical outlet so that in case of an emergency the product can be unplugged immediately. Pull the power plug out of the electrical outlet to completely switch off the product. Use the power plug as the disconnection device.

  12. Disconnect the power plug from the electrical outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
  13. If the power cord should overheat, stop using the product and disconnect the product from the electrical outlet.
  14. Do not place the product on hot plates (gas, electric, coal cooking range, etc.). Keep the product away from hot surfaces and open flames. Always operate the product on a level, stable, clean, heat-resistant and dry surface.
  15. Never leave the product unattended during use.
  16. Dry the product and all accessories before connecting it to the power supply and prior to attaching the accessories.
  17. Danger of electric shock! Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.

The product is exclusively intended for processing foodstuffs, for minced meat, sausage, kibbeh and biscuit production. This product is only suitable for private household use and it is not designed for commercial purpose. Every other type of use can lead to damage to the product or injury. Before first use

  • Remove the product and accessories carefully from the original packaging. It is recommended to keep the original packaging for storage. If you wish to dispose of the original packaging, please observe applicable legal provisions. Should you have any questions regarding proper disposal, contact your local waste management center.
  • Check for completeness and transport damage. In case of damages or incompleteness please contact your dealer.
    Clean the product after unpacking; see section Cleaning and care.

Assembling and use

For all applications:

Fig.1 Insert the meat grinder attachment into the connection on the motor housing by about 30^ . Turn the meat mincer attachment to the left as far as it will go until the release button clicks into place and the filling opening of the meat grinder attachment is approximately vertical. Put the bowl on the meat grinder attachment.

Meat grinder (0 + A / B / N)

The mid size grinding disc (5 mm) is already preassembled in the meat grinder attachment. To use other grinding discs, remove them from the magazine on the back of the motor housing.

Fig.3 Ensure the correct sequence and position of all parts and place the desired grinding disc on the screw end. Make sure the nose on the meat grinder attachment is in the groove of the grinding disc. Screw the union nut back onto the mincer attachment.

Fig.5 Place a suitable container in front of the meat grinder attachment. Switch on the device with the ON/OFF switch. Feed meat, vegetables or other suitable foods that are sufficiently small into the feeding chute of the mincer. Use the pusher as intended. If all food has been ejected from the grinding disc, switch off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch again. If the device locks up or runs hard, switch it off, let it come to a standstill and then press the reverse button REV. If the conveyor screw is free again, continue with your work.

When you have finished your work, switch off the device and disconnect the power plug. Clean the device immediately as given in chapter Cleaning and care

Sausage production (I + K)

Fig.7 Remove the lid from the pusher and take out the adapter ring and sausage muzzle. Insert the adapter ring into the grinder attachment on the conveyor screw so that the nose on the meat grinder attachment sits in the groove on the adapter ring and so that the rounded side faces the sausage muzzle. Now insert the sausage muzzle into the union nut and screw the union nut onto the meat grinder attachment.

Fig.8 Connect the power plug to the mains. Slide the desired length of synthetic or intestine sausage casing over the sausage muzzle. Make a knot at the beginning of the sausage cover. Switch on the device with the ON/OFF switch. Put the sausage meat in the filling opening and bowl. Use the pusher to slowly and steadily push down the meat and make the sausages as desired. When you have finished your work, switch off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch again and unplug the appliance. Clean the device immediately as given in chapter Cleaning and care.

Kibbeh production (G + H)

Insert the kibbeh cone into the meat mincer attachment on the auger so that the nose on the meat grinder attachment sits in the groove on the kibbeh cone and so that the rounded side faces the union nut. Now insert the kibbeh nozzle into the union nut and screw the union nut onto the meat grinder attachment.

Use the pusher to slowly and steadily push down the dough and make your kibbeh as desired. When you have finished your work, switch off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch again and unplug the appliance. Clean the device immediately as given in chapter Cleaning and care.

Now insert the disc of the biscuit attachment without the pattern plate into the union nut and screw the union nut onto the meat grinder attachment. Now insert the pattern plate back in the disc and set the desired biscuit shape.

Use the pusher to slowly and steadily push down the dough and make your biscuits as desired. When you have finished your work, switch off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch again and unplug the appliance. Clean the device immediately as given in chapter Cleaning and care.

Cleaning and care

Warning

  • Before cleaning, always switch off the product and disconnect the plug from the power supply.
    Make sure that no moisture is entering the product during cleaning.
  • Never immerse the motor enclosure in water or other liquids.

Clean all removable parts and the mincer attachment in warm, soapy water. Rinse the parts with clean water and let them dry completely.
Clean the motor housing with a slightly damp cloth.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp implements to clean your product.
- Dry the product thoroughly after cleaning.
- Store the product in a cool, dry location, away from children and pets.
- Store the corresponding parts in the correct order and position in the pusher. Store two of the grinding discs in the grinding disc magazine and the biscuit attachment separately. Install the remaining parts, conveyor screw, blade, one grinding disc and the union nut back to the mincer attachment. Store the assembled meat grinder attachment installed to the device or separately. Observe the chapter Assembling and use for assembling.

The components P, Q and D may not be cleaned in a dishwasher. Only clean them by hand, as they will tarnish when cleaned in a dishwasher.

Tips for processing foodstuffs

Meat grinder

  • Remove tendons, gristles, bones etc. before processing, in order to prevents blockage of the meat grinder.
    Cut the meat into smaller cubs (approx. 2.5 × 2.5 × 2.5 cm) or oblong pieces.
  • Push the meat down slowly and steadily. Do not fill in too much meat at once.
    Use the grinding discs in the order from coarse to fine.

Kibbeh production

  • Push the Kibbeh dough down slowly and steadily. Do not fill in too much at once.
    It is helpful to pre-form smaller rolls or balls before processing, in order to simplify the actual processing.
    Make sure that the consistency of the Kibbeh dough is suitable for processing and that it's not too firm.

Spritz Biscuits

  • Push the cookie dough down slowly and steadily. Do not fill in too much at once.
    It is helpful to pre-form smaller rolls or balls before processing, in order to simplify the actual processing.
    Make sure that the consistency of the cookie dough is suitable for processing and that it's not too firm.

Note:

It is normal, that some meat, dough etc. remains in the auger after processing.

Sausage production

  • Push the sausage meat down slowly and steadily. Do not fill in too much at once.
  • Adjust the speed of pushing down the sausage meat to the desired length and width of the sausages.

If there are any problems during operation, please refer to the following table. If problems cannot be solved as indicated under Solution, please contact your manufacturer.
