2.5 Use according to intended purpose

Chargers are only suitable for charging Metabo and CAS (Cordless Alliance System) battery packs.

Any other use than described above is not permissible. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage arising from such other use.

In order to use the appliance as intended, you must comply with the operating, maintenance and repair instructions specified by MAFELL.

This appliance is also not suitable for use outdoors, in rain and wet conditions or in explosive rooms.

Corrective maintenance work must be carried out by MAFELL authorised dealers or MAFELL customer service stations.

The safety instructions applicable in the respective country of use as well as other generally recognised rules pertaining to safety and occupational health must be observed.

Unauthorized changes to the appliance shall rule out any manufacturer liability for damages resulting thereof.

3 Safety information

Danger

Electrical appliances may be dangerous if used incorrectly. Therefore, always observe the safety instructions summarised in this chapter and the safety regulations applicable in the respective country of use!

• Prior to every use, check the device, the cable and the plug. If you detect any damage, you may not continue to use the device. Have repairs only carried out by a professional. Never open the device yourself.
• The device may not be damp and may not be operated in a damp environment. Store the device in a dry and frost-proof place.

• If any battery liquid is leaking and comes in contact with the skin, immediately rinse with a copious amount of water. If any battery liquid gets into your eyes, rinse with clean water and immediately consult a doctor for medical treatment.

• Do not throw spent rechargeable battery packs into a fire and do not dispose of with normal household waste. MAFELL offers an environmentally sound disposal of spent rechargeable battery packs; please ask your specialist dealer.

• Never store rechargeable battery packs together with metal objects. There is a risk of short-circuits.
• Do not charge any third-party rechargeable batteries. The device is only intended for charging MAFELL lithium-ion rechargeable batteries with voltages of 10,8 - 36 V.
• Do not reach inside the device with conductive objects, as mains voltage is applied to certain areas.
• Do not charge any damaged rechargeable battery pack, but replace it immediately.
• Never carry the device by its cable and do not suspend it from the cable.
• Children and adolescents may not operate this appliance. Exempted from this are adolescents using the appliance under the supervision of an expert for the purpose of their training.
• Only use original MAFELL spare parts, accessories or special accessories. Otherwise, the manufacturer will not accept any warranty claims and cannot be held liable.

5 Initial operation

The APS M+ / APS M rechargeable power station is totally insulated according to class II.

Prior to commissioning make sure that the mains voltage agrees with the operating voltage stated on the machine's rating plate.

Devices generating direct current such as the one on hand could influence simple earth leakage circuit breakers. Therefore, use one of type F or better with a tripping current of max. 30 mA.

Before starting up the charger, make sure that the ventilation slots are unobstructed. The minimum distance to other objects is min. 5 cm.

5.1 Self-test

• Plug in the mains plug.
• The warning display (4) and the operating mode display (3) will light up in succession for approx. 1 second; the built-in fan will run for approx. 5 seconds.

6 Operation

6.1 Charging the rechargeable battery

Push the rechargeable battery pack completely onto the sliding seat up to the limit stop (2).

The operating mode display (3) is blinking.

6.2 Trickle charge

Once charging is complete, the charger switches automatically to trickle charge. The rechargeable battery pack can remain inside the charger and is thus always ready for operation. The operating mode display (3) lights up constantly.

7 Service and maintenance

Danger

Pull the power plug during all service work.

Always keep the device in a clean condition.

Should the device fail despite thorough manufacturing and testing procedures, the repair must be carried out by an authorised customer service station for MAFELL electrical tools.

If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a MAFELL customer service station because special tools are required to do so.

Danger

Only use MAFELL accessories and spare parts. Have components, the replacement of which has not been described, replaced at a MAFELL customer service station.

8 Troubleshooting

Danger

Determining the causes for existing defects and eliminating these always requires increased attention and caution. Pull the mains plug beforehand!

Some of the most frequent defects and their causes are listed in the following chart. In case of other defects, contact your dealer or the MAFELL customer service.

WARRANTYUpon presentation of the warranty document (original invoice), we will carry out all repairs free of charge in accordance with the applicable warranty provisions, processing and mounting faults free of charge on presentation of this properly filled-in Guarantee Certificate and your original receipt. This is not valid for consumables and wearing parts. For this purpose, the machine or the appliance is to be forwarded freight paid to our plant or to an authorized MAFELL repair service. Refrain from trying to carry out the repairs yourself as otherwise your warranty claim will become extinct. We do not accept any liability for any damage resulting from improper handling or normal wear.

GWARANCJAPo przedstawieniu gwarancji (oryginału dowodu zakupu) wykonane zostaną w ramach terminu gwarancji wszelkiego rodzaju naprawy, które według naszej oceny są konieczne z powodu błędów materiałowych oraz błędów przy obróbce i montażu.Nie dotyczy to części zamienne i zużywalne. Prosimy o przesłanie maszyny wzgl. urządzenia na nasz koszt do zakładu lub serwisu MAFELL. Unikać dokonywania samodzielnych napraw, gdyż powoduje to utratę roszczeń gwarancyjnych. Nie przejmujemy odpowiedzialności za szkody powstałe w wyniku niefachowej obsługi lub normalnego zużycia.

ZÁRUKAPo předložení záručních podkladů (originální doklad o koupi) budou provedeny v rámci aktuálně płatných pravidel pro poskytování záruky provedeny všechny opravy, které jsou podle našich zjištění požadovány z hlediska vad materiálu, zpracování a montáže. Díly podléhající používání a opotrebení jsou z tohoto vyjmuty. Navíc k tomu musí být stroj, případně přístroj zaslán vyplaceně do závodu nebo zákaznického servisu MAFELL. Nezkoušejte stroj opravovat sami, protože tím zaniká nárok na záruku. Záruky se nevztahují na škody vzniklé neodbornou manipulací nebo na ty, které vznikly v důsledku normálního opotřebování.

Porabni in obrabni deli so izvzeti iz tega določila. V ta namen morate stroj oz. napravo prosto voznine poslati v tovarno ali v pooblaščeno MAFELL servisno delavnico. Popravil ne skušajte opravljati samostojno, saj s tem ugasne pravica do garancije. Za škodo, ki nastane zaradi nestrokovnega ravnanja ali zaradi normalne obrabe, ne prevzemamo odgovornosti.
