Frequently Asked Questions - Picasso Prixton

How to turn the Prixton Picasso projector on and off?

Press the On/Off button on the remote control or the POWER button on the projector. Hold to turn off.

How to connect a smartphone to the projector?

For a wireless connection, press SOURCE, select Screen Mirroring, then enable screen sharing on your phone. For iOS, use AirPlay; for Android, use Miracast or Smart View. A USB cable connection is also possible.

How to adjust focus and keystone distortion?

Turn the focus wheel (FOCUS ADJ.) to get a sharp image. Use the keystone correction wheel (TRAPEZOIDAL ADJ.) to straighten the image if it is distorted.

The projector does not turn on, what to do?

Check that the AC adapter is properly plugged in and the outlet works. Make sure the lens cap is removed. If the problem persists, contact Prixton customer service.

How to use the Bluetooth function?

Activate Bluetooth in the projector settings (menu). The projector will search for nearby audio devices. Select your Bluetooth speaker or headset. Note: this function is only for audio output, not for mirroring.

What image adjustments are available?

In the menu, you can adjust Picture Mode (Standard, etc.), Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness, Tint, Temperature, and Aspect Ratio.

How to clean the projector lens?

Use a soft, dry cloth specifically designed for optics. Never use chemicals or liquids. Avoid touching the lens with your fingers.

Can I use a USB drive or SD card?

Yes, insert a USB drive into the USB port or a Micro SD card into the designated slot. Then, select Media Player as the source to play photos, music, or videos.

How to install the projector on the ceiling?

You need to purchase a compatible projector mount (not included). Attach the mount to the ceiling, then screw the projector onto the mounting holes (screws not included). Follow the mount's instructions.

What is the recommended projection distance?

The optimal distance is about 3.5 meters to get a 106-inch diagonal image. You can adjust according to the desired screen size.

Precautions before use:

KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN MIND:

1. Do not use this device near water.

2.Clean only with a slightly damp cloth.

3.Do not cover or block any ventilation openings. When placing the device on a shelf, leave 5 cm (2") free space around the whole device.

1. Keep the device away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves, candles and other heat-generating products or naked flame.

2. Avoid using the device near strong magnetic fields.

3. Electrostatic discharge can disturb normal usage of this device. If so, simply reset and restart the device following the instruction manual. During file transmission, please handle with care and operate in a static-free environment.

4. Warning! Never insert an object into the product through the vents or openings. High voltage flows through the product and inserting an object can cause electric shock and/or short circuit internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.

5. If the unit has USB playback function, the usb memory stick should be plugged into the unit directly. Don't use an usb extension cable because it can cause interference resulting in failing of data.

6. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and make sure that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, are placed on or near the apparatus.

Placing your projector:

Your projector can be installed in four different configurations:

Front Table:

Select this location with the projector placed near the floor in front of the screen. This is the most common way to position the projector for quick setup and portability.

Front Ceiling:

Select this location with the projector suspended upside-down from the ceiling in front of the screen.

NOTE: A projector mount is required to install the projector in a ceiling.

Rear Table:

Select this location with the projector placed near the floor behind the screen.

NOTE: That a special rear projection screen is required.

Rear Ceiling:

NOTE:

To reduce image distortion:

It is recommended to move the projector as close to center of screen.

Distance between the projector and screen:

Measure the distance between the projector and where you want to position the screen. This is the projection distance.

Optimal distance: 3,5 m 106"

Placing your projector on ceiling:

When installing the projector in the ceiling, please purchase a projector mount recommended by an installation professional and follow the instructions that come with the mount.

Before installing the projector in the ceiling, please check to make sure the ceiling structure can support the weight of the projector and the mount. If in doubt, please ask the advice from an installation professorial.

Adjust the focus and keystone

Follow below picture to adjust the focus and trapezoidal screen.

Adjust the focus by turning the knob while observing the image pixels near the center of the screen. Optimal focus is obtained when the pixels are clearly visible. Depending on the projected screen size, the focus near the screen edges may be less sharp than the screen center.

Keystone image is created when the projector beam is projected to the screen in an angle.

Keystone correction will restore the distorted image to a rectangular or square shape.

Install / Remove battery of remote

Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of your remote by carefully sliding to open.

The battery cover can then be lifted away. Fit the correct batteries (2 X AAA batteries not included), referring to the polarity markings. Finally, replace the cover.

NOTES:

Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire

Be sure that the batteries are installed polarity correctly.

Only same or equivalent type batteries as recommend are to be used.

Do not dispose of batteries in fire, battery may explode or leak. Do not try to recharge a battery

Do not mix old and new batteries.

Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc) batteries

Connection Instructions

Select an input source

You will see the picture below when the projector is turned on.

You can choose between the different input sources (AV / HDMI1 / HDMI2 / Screen Mirroring/ Media Player) by pressing the

" Source " button at the projector touch panel, or remote controller.

You can connect different devices with the projector, according to the following connection instructions.

HIMI device connection

The projector can connect to devices with HDMI input function. It is compatible with laptops, DVD players, Blu-ray players, Chromecast, TV Stick, etc. An HDMI cable not is included. The F-405 projector is equipped with 2 HDMI input ports,

①If you connect your devices to the projector via "HDM 1" port, please choose "HDMI 1" input source.
②If you connect via the "HDMI 2" port, please choose the "HDMI 2" input source.

Multimedia connection

Insert USB / Micro SD card ( TF card ) into the corresponding slots (as shown in the picture). Choose Media source, Select " Video ", " Music ", " Picture " to enter the content you want to play.

AV video device connection

Connect the projector AV interface with the AV cable, as is shown in the pictures.

Using Bluetooth playback

Audio devices connection

The projector can connect to a headphone and to a wired audio system using a 3.5mm jack (not include)

Bluetooth On/Off	Bluetooth is OFF by default when the projector first powers ON
Pairing to Bluetooth Wireless Speaker	Turn on Bluetooth. The projector will begin searching for a nearby Bluetooth device, choose one and connect successfully.
	When successfully connected, the projector will display the Bluetooth name on the top right portion of the Main Menu screen, and ou will be heard through the Bluetooth receiver
Attention
The Bluetooth function only supports audio devices. Smart phone, tablet, or computers can not connect to the projector ! ! !
About automatically connect. After the initial pairing, The device will keep the pairing status all the time when Bluetooth functions for both devices are opened. To ensure that you can hear from the projector next time, we suggest that turn off the Bluetooth function before the turn off the projector.
When you try to connect a new blue tooth speaker please turn off the previous speaker /headphone and re-search your new Bluetooth device for connecting.

NOTE: Depend of WLAN environment, it is normal that the process to loading the IP address or Scan QR code may take some seconds, please be patient!

There are three types of connection for IOS system. You can choose one of these connections.

Dear user,

In order to establish the Wireless or USB connection, press the button Source in the remote and select the option "Screen Mirroring". Throughout the manual this option is referred to as "Miracast".

Wired Screen Mirroring Connection

1 Press the signal source key "S" of the projector or the remote control and select "Miracast" to enter the interface.

② Plug an original USB charging cable into the USB port of this projector.
3 Please select "Trust this device" when the iPhone asks "Trust" or "Don't trust", and enter the Your iPhone password to connect.

Wireless Screen Mirroring Connection --Requires Cellular Data Traffic Transfer

1 Press the signal source key of the projector or the remote control and select "Miracast". (Picture Guidelines Refer to the first step of ios system wired connection)
2 Open the wifi in the Phone settings, search and select projector hotspot NETLINK -***, enter password to connect (Note: The hotspot name is on the screen "SSID: NETLINK -**, the password is "*******". If the phone is disconnected from the projector wifi at this point, reconnect the phone to the projector hotspot)
3 Slide the phone interface from the bottom up to enter the control central (Full-screen phones slide down from above, those with home button slide up from below), then open "Screen Mirroring". Then Search and select the projector device (Note: The name of the projector device is NETLINK -***, click to connect.

Wireless WIFI Connection — Wifi Transfer

1 Press the signal source key of the projector or the remote control and select "Miracast".
2 Long press the "Menu" button on the projector or remote control, click wifi setting, select your home wireless network in the projector display interface, enter the password.

Wired Screen Mirroring Connection

1 Press the signal source key of the projector or the remote control and select "Miracast".
2 Find the developer option, turn on USB debugging function. Keeo the mobile phone awake and connect the USB charging cable.

3 After plugging in the data cable, the phone will pop up an interface, select "transfer files", then click "ok" to achieve the screen mirroring.

4 At this time, the voice is still played via the mobile phone. If you need the sound to play on the projector, you can turn on the Blue-tooth of your mobile phone and choose to connect the projector Bluetooth "PJ_BT" device.

(Note: When connecting to Bluetooth for the first time, if the projector still has no sound, please unplug the data cable and connect again)

Since different brands of Android phones have different settings, find the screen share and connect the projector. Samsung phones find "Smart View", Huawei phones find "Multi-screen". Troubleshooting

Before resorting the maintenance service, please kindly check by yourself with the following chart.

No Image is Projected or a "No Signal" message is displayed

1.Power light is on. If it is not on, check the projector is plugged into the mains, that the socket is switched on, and then press the power button on the projector.2.Check the lens cover has been removed.3.Check the cables are securely attached and installed as per the User Manual.4.The image source may not be set correctly. Press the Source button on the Control Panel or the Remote, to select the correct setting.5.Check in the Menu section under Video input signal to make sure that has been set correctly.

The Lamp (Bulb) switches off after a period of time	Is the warning light indicator red? If so, the projector is overheating which turns the light off automatically.1.Leave the projector to cool for a few moments.2.Once cooled, check nothing is blocking the ventilation vents.3.Check the air filter is clean and clean if necessary.4.Turn on the projector.If the issue persists please contact your support provider for further assistance.
The Image is wider at the top/bottom of the screen	This is called keystone and is due to the projection angle not being perpendicular to the screen. To correct use the projectors inbuilt keystone function to adjust the image.
Spots on the screen	Using a vacuum cleaner to clean the lens. If cleaning doesn't resolve things, please contact your support provider for further assistance.
The image brightness has faded	This could possible be caused by the ambient light in the room. If not ,the chances are that you need to replace the lamp (bulb).
