Frequently Asked Questions - X5C EZVIZ

How to install a hard drive in the X5C?

Remove the cover by unscrewing the six screws (No. 1 to 6). Connect the data cable and power cord to the hard drive, then screw it in with screws No. 7 to 10. Close the cover.

How to connect wireless cameras to the X5C?

Go to Menu > Camera > Search. When the camera is ready to connect to Wi-Fi, click Search then + to add it.

How to reset the X5C?

Insert a pin into the reset hole (RESET) and hold it for 8 seconds until the indicator blinks red.

Can I use the EZVIZ app to control the X5C?

Yes, download the EZVIZ app on iOS or Android, create an account, then add the X5C by scanning the QR code on the device.

What should I do if the LED is solid red?

A solid red light indicates an error or alarm. Check connections and refer to the manual for details.

What is the maximum distance between the camera and the X5C?

The camera must be within 10 meters (32.8 feet) of the X5C for optimal wireless connection.

Can the X5C operate without a hard drive?

The X5C can be used without a hard drive for live viewing, but recording requires an installed SATA hard drive.

How to properly shut down the X5C?

On the monitor interface, go to Menu > Shutdown then click Yes. Do not unplug the device while it is running.

What types of cameras are compatible with the X5C?

The X5C is compatible with EZVIZ wireless and wired (Ethernet) cameras. Cameras must be within 10 m for wireless.

What should I do if the screen shows no image?

Check that the VGA or HDMI cable is properly connected and that the monitor is set to the correct input source. Also ensure the X5C is powered on.

Wiring

If you want to install HDD by yourself, refer to Appendix.

Cable Connection

1. Connect the LAN interface of Vault Live to that of router using network cable.
2. Connect the mouse to the USB interface of Vault Live.

1. Connect Vault Live to the Monitor using VGA or HDMI cable.

i Choose the corresponding signal source of the Monitor according to different connections.

Setup

Powering on

The camera should be within 10m (32.8ft) from the Vault Live.

1. Power on the Vault Live using power adaptor and power socket.

i Use stable power supply to avoid device exception or even damage.

1. Wait until the Wizard interface appears on the Monitor and set the password (For First Time Access).
2. Log in the Vault Live.

(Optional) Shutdown

1. In the operation interface of Vault Live (Monitor), go to Shutdown by Menu → Shutdown and click it.

For device protection, do not power off it when it is still working.

1. Go to Camera Management by Menu → Camera.

The camera will automatically connect to the Vault Live.

A. Connect camera to Vault Live's uplink router or switch with network cable.

1. Download the App in your Phone (Optional).

2. Search for "EZVIZ" in the App Store/Google Play™ to download and install the App.

3. Launch the App.

4. Register an EZVIZ user account.

5. Add the Vault Live.

6. Log into the EZVIZ App.

7. Click “+” on the upper-right corner to go to QR code scanning interface.

Appendix

HDD Installation

1. Loosen six screws No.1 to 6 on the back and both sides of the device to take apart the cover.

Thank you for purchasing EZVIZ products. This limited warranty gives you, the original purchaser of the EZVIZ product, specific legal rights. You may also have other legal rights that vary by state, province or jurisdiction. The disclaimers, exclusions, and limitations of liability under this limited warranty will not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable law. No distributor, reseller, agent, or employee is authorized to make any medication, extension, or addition to this limited warranty.

Your EZVIZ product is warranted for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, or such longer period as may be required by law in the country or state where this product is sold, when used normally in accordance with user manual.

You can request warranty service by emailing us at [e-mail].

For any defective EZVIZ products under warranty, HANGZHOU HIKVISION DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. ("the Company") will, at its option, (i) repair or replace your product free of charge; (ii) exchange your product with a functional equivalent product; (iii) or refund the original purchase price, provided you provide the original purchase receipt or copy, brief explanation of the defect, and return the product in its original packaging. At the sole discretion of the Company, repair or replacement may be made with a new or refurbished product or components. This warranty does not cover the postal cost, insurance and any other incidental charges incurred by you in returning the product.

Except where prohibited by applicable law, this is your sole and exclusive remedy for breach of this limited warranty. Any product that has either been repaired or replaced under this limited warranty will be covered by the terms of this limited warranty for the longer of ninety (90) days from the date of delivery or the remaining original warranty period.
