Frequently Asked Questions - biOrb TUBE 15 OASE

How do I install the biOrb MCR LED lighting on a biOrb TUBE aquarium?

Insert the lighting unit into the aquarium lid, plug it into the separate socket of the mains adapter, then plug the adapter into the power socket. Use the on/off switch to turn it on. See figures B and C in the manual.

How do I use the lighting remote control?

Before first use, remove the plastic battery protector. Point the remote at the sensor on the lighting unit. Use the buttons to turn on/off, change color (R, G, B or one of 15 preset colors), adjust brightness (4 levels) or activate day/night cycle mode.

How do I clean the aquarium lighting?

Use a special OASE cleaning cloth (ref. 46027) for the lower part with the lighting unit to avoid scratches. Wipe the upper part with a damp cloth. Never immerse the device in water.

How do I change the remote control battery?

Turn the remote over so you can see the back. Open the battery compartment, fully remove the holder, replace the battery with a CR 2025, observing polarity, then reinsert the holder. Close the compartment.

What should I do if the lighting does not turn on?

Check that the mains adapter is plugged in and the on/off switch is set to 'on'. If the light was turned off via the remote, turn it back on with the remote. If the problem persists, check the connections.

The remote control is not working, what should I do?

Make sure the remote is pointed at the sensor on the lighting unit. Reduce the distance if it is too far. If the battery is dead, replace it with a new CR 2025.

What safety instructions must be observed?

Never immerse the device in water. Always disconnect the power before carrying out any work. Do not use if the cables or housing are damaged. Children under 8 years must be supervised. Do not look directly at the light source.

How do I set the day/night cycle mode?

Press one of the cycle buttons (8, 10, 12 or 14 HR) to activate the cycle function. The sunrise and sunset duration is 15 minutes. Daylight lasts between 7.5 and 13.5 hours depending on the selected duration, and blue night light (20%) completes the 24-hour cycle.

What is the warranty for the biOrb MCR LED lighting?

OASE offers a 24-month manufacturer's warranty from the date of first purchase from an authorized dealer. It covers manufacturing defects but not damage due to incorrect use, wear (bulbs, batteries) or unauthorized repairs. Consumable parts such as batteries are excluded.

How do I dispose of the device or batteries?

Do not dispose of the device with household waste. Cut the cable to make it unusable. Remove the batteries and take them to a designated collection point. The device must be recycled via a take-back system. Batteries containing harmful substances are marked Pb, Cd, Hg or Li.

biOrb MCR LED, referred to in the following as "unit", may only be used as specified in the following:

For lighting a biOrb CLASSIC, biOrb LIFE, biOrb FLOW, biOrb TUBE aquarium.

- Operation under observance of the technical data.

The following restrictions apply to the unit:

• Only intended for connection to a biOrb transformer.
• Only use indoors and for aquaristic purposes in the home (not for commercial use).

Function description

Individually adjustable lighting for the aquarium biOrb; can be set by remote control (included in the delivery scope).

Possibility for cyclical lighting:

A gradually changing light in colour and brightness during a 24 hour day, simulating daylight and night light. Blue night light (dimmed to 20%), white daylight (100%).

INSTALLATION, CONNECTION, START-UP

CAUTION

Strong LED radiation!

Possible consequences: Eye injury due to light flash.

- Never look into the light source.

Prerequisite:

- The plug-in transformer of the aquarium has been disconnected from the power supply.

2. Insert the plug-in transformer into the socket. — Ensure that all connection cables form a drip loop.

3. Actuate the switch of the lighting unit for switching on/off.

4. Carry out further settings with the aid of the remote control.

- When the lighting unit is switched on and off with the ON/OFF switch, the current settings for the mode and "Automatic" are retained.

CLEANING

Cleaning cloths are available as OASE biOrb Reinigungstücher Set (46027).

How to proceed:

- Bottom surface of the lighting unit: Wipe with a special cleaning cloth to avoid scratches.

- Wipe the top with a damp cloth.

If services are provided under the terms of this guarantee, this does not lead to extension or renewal of the guarantee period. Your legal rights as a purchaser, especially those ensuing from the warranty, persist. They are not restricted by this guarantee.

Guarantee conditions

OASE GmbH guarantees impeccable, purpose-related properties and workmanship, expert assembly and proper functionality. Subject to our discretion, the guarantee refers to free-of-charge repair or free-of-charge supply of spare parts or of a replacement unit respectively. Should the unit type concerned no longer be manufactured, we reserve the right, at our discretion, to supply a replacement unit from our range that is closest to the type subject to complaint. Claims, the origin of which can be traced back to installation and operating faults as well as lack of care, e.g. the use of unsuitable cleaning materials or negligent maintenance, use other than that intended, damage due to accidents, falls, impact, effect of frost, cutting plugs, shortening cables, calcium deposits or improper attempts to repair the unit, are not covered by our guarantee. We hereby refer to the proper use as specified in the instructions of use that form an integral part of the guarantee. Wear parts such as bulbs etc. are exempted from the guarantee.

The refund of costs for removal and installation, checks, claims for lost profit and damages are exempted from the guarantee together with further reaching claims for damages and loss of whatever nature caused by the unit or its use.
