Frequently Asked Questions - biOrb TUBE 30 OASE

How to install the biOrb MCR LED lighting?

Insert the lighting unit into the biOrb aquarium lid. Plug it into the separate socket of the power adapter, then plug the adapter into the mains. Ensure that the cables form swan necks.

What safety precautions should be observed?

Never immerse the device in water. Do not look directly at the LED source. Disconnect the plug before any work. Use only with a biOrb transformer. Damaged cables require disposal.

How to use the remote control?

Before first use, remove the plastic protection from the battery. Turn on the unit with the on/off switch. Use the buttons to turn on/off, change color (R, G, B or 15 colors), adjust brightness (4 levels) or start the day/night cycle.

How to clean the lighting?

Use a special OASE cleaning cloth (ref. 46027). Wipe the lower part with the special cloth to avoid scratches. The upper part can be wiped with a damp cloth.

What to do if the remote control does not work?

Check that the sensor detects the remote control by pointing it at the device. Reduce the distance if necessary. If the problem persists, replace the battery with a CR 2025 respecting polarity.

How to replace the remote control battery?

Turn the remote control with the back face up, open the battery compartment. Remove the holder, change the battery (type CR 2025) checking polarity, then put the holder back in place.

What lighting modes are available?

You can choose from 15 preset colors (red, green, blue, white, and combinations), adjust brightness on 4 levels (20-80%), or activate the day/night cycle with dawn and dusk simulation.

How to program the day/night cycle?

Press the cycle function button (8, 10, 12 or 14 HR). The daylight duration will be adjusted. Example for 8 HR: sunrise 15 min, day 7.5 h, sunset 15 min, night 16 h. The complete cycle lasts 24 h.

What to do if the lighting does not turn on?

Check the connection to the power adapter and that the on/off switch is set to ON. Make sure the light has not been turned off via the remote control. If the problem persists, consult the manual.

What is the warranty of the biOrb MCR LED lighting?

The OASE manufacturer's warranty is 24 months from the first purchase from an authorized dealer. It covers manufacturing defects but not wear and tear, accidental damage, or improper use.

Intended use

biOrb MCR LED, referred to in the following as "unit", may only be used as specified in the following:

For lighting a biOrb CLASSIC, biOrb LIFE, biOrb FLOW, biOrb TUBE aquarium.

- Operation under observance of the technical data.

The following restrictions apply to the unit:

• Only intended for connection to a biOrb transformer.
• Only use indoors and for aquaristic purposes in the home (not for commercial use).

Function description

Individually adjustable lighting for the aquarium biOrb; can be set by remote control (included in the delivery scope).

Possibility for cyclical lighting:

A gradually changing light in colour and brightness during a 24 hour day, simulating daylight and night light. Blue night light (dimmed to 20%), white daylight (100%).

INSTALLATION, CONNECTION, START-UP

CAUTION

Strong LED radiation!

Possible consequences: Eye injury due to light flash.

- Never look into the light source.

Prerequisite:

- The plug-in transformer of the aquarium has been disconnected from the power supply.

- Insert the lighting unit into the cover of the biOrb aquarium.

1. Insert the plug of the lighting unit into the separate socket of the plug-in transformer.

2. Insert the plug-in transformer into the socket. — Ensure that all connection cables form a drip loop.

3. Actuate the switch of the lighting unit for switching on/off.

4. Carry out further settings with the aid of the remote control.

- When the lighting unit is switched on and off with the ON/OFF switch, the current settings for the mode and "Automatic" are retained.

CLEANING

Cleaning cloths are available as OASE biOrb Reinigungstücher Set (46027).

How to proceed:

- Bottom surface of the lighting unit: Wipe with a special cleaning cloth to avoid scratches.

- Wipe the top with a damp cloth.

1. Turn the remote control over and open the battery compartment.

2. Pull the battery holder completely out and change the batteries.

• Switch on the lighting unit with the ON/OFF switch.

Example for the 8 HR cycle. When the 10, 12 or 14 HR button is selected, the time for "Daylight" and "Night light" changes accordingly. "Day light" is always reduced by 30 minutes for "Sunrise" and "Sunset". Total duration of a cycle: 24 h.

For this OASE unit purchased by you, OASE GmbH assumes a 24 month manufacturer's guarantee in accordance with the guarantee conditions laid down in the following. The guarantee period starts with the first purchase from an OASE specialist dealer. In other words, in the event of a resale, the guarantee period will not start again. If services are provided under the terms of this guarantee, this does not lead to extension or renewal of the guarantee period. Your legal rights as a purchaser, especially those ensuing from the warranty, persist. They are not restricted by this guarantee.

Guarantee conditions

OASE GmbH guarantees impeccable, purpose-related properties and workmanship, expert assembly and proper functionality. Subject to our discretion, the guarantee refers to free-of-charge repair or free-of-charge supply of spare parts or of a replacement unit respectively. Should the unit type concerned no longer be manufactured, we reserve the right, at our discretion, to supply a replacement unit from our range that is closest to the type subject to complaint. Claims, the origin of which can be traced back to installation and operating faults as well as lack of care, e.g. the use of unsuitable cleaning materials or negligent maintenance, use other than that intended, damage due to accidents, falls, impact, effect of frost, cutting plugs, shortening cables, calcium deposits or improper attempts to repair the unit, are not covered by our guarantee. We hereby refer to the proper use as specified in the instructions of use that form an integral part of the guarantee. Wear parts such as bulbs etc. are exempted from the guarantee.

The refund of costs for removal and installation, checks, claims for lost profit and damages are exempted from the guarantee together with further reaching claims for damages and loss of whatever nature caused by the unit or its use.

The guarantee is only valid in the country in which the unit was purchased from an OASE dealer. This guarantee is governed by German law under the exclusion of the agreement of the United Nations covering contracts governing the international sale of goods (CISG) regulations.
