Frequently Asked Questions - BXAF3500E BLACK & DECKER

How to use the fryer for the first time?
Before first use, clean the parts in contact with food (basket and container) with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Plug the appliance into a grounded outlet. Select a program or manually adjust the temperature and time.
How much oil should I put in the fryer?
This is an oil-free fryer. No oil is needed for cooking. You can add a tablespoon of oil to enhance crispiness of certain foods like homemade fries.
How to adjust the temperature and cooking time?
Use the +/- buttons on the control panel to change the temperature (default 180 °C) and time (default 15 minutes). You can also choose from the 9 preset programs by pressing the Menu button.
What to do if the fryer does not turn on?
Check that the plug is properly inserted and the power outlet works. Make sure the cable is not damaged. If the appliance still does not turn on, unplug it, wait 15 minutes, and plug it back in. If the problem persists, contact authorized after-sales service.
How to clean the fryer after use?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent. The basket and container can be washed by hand, but do not put them in the dishwasher. Never immerse the appliance in water.
Are the foods cooked evenly?
For even cooking, it is recommended to shake the basket halfway through cooking (according to the cooking chart). The fryer uses hot air circulation, so shaking helps distribute the heat.

Yes, the fryer is suitable for frozen foods. Refer to the cooking chart in the manual for recommended times and temperatures (e.g., thin frozen fries: 20 min at 200 °C).
How to stop cooking in progress?
Press the pause/start button to pause cooking. The timer stops and displays the remaining time. To resume, press again. You can also remove the container to automatically stop the appliance.
The light is blinking, what does it mean?
The operation lights blink when the appliance is heating or cooking. If a light stays solid or blinks abnormally, consult the manual or contact after-sales service.
Where to find spare parts or get the appliance repaired?
For any repair, contact an authorized technical assistance service. You can find the nearest one at http://www.2helpu.com/. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
