Warning

  • Risk group 2 according to EN 62471 WARNING! This product may emit dangerous optical radiation. Never look into the lamp when it is switched on. The light is very bright and can damage the retina of your eyes when looking directly into it (Risk of blindness!)

  • Hold the torch in such a manner that it does not dazzle you and those around you!

  • Never intentionally dazzle another person or shine in the direction of moving vehicles, planes or flying objects. There is a high risk of an accident if drivers are distracted!
  • Warning of the stroboscope light: Flash light (stroboscope effect) can trigger epileptic seizures or fainting. This can also occur in people who have never had epileptic seizures. Never point the stroboscopic light effect of the torch at such persons, there is danger to life! Never point the stroboscope effect at moving vehicles, aeroplanes or flying objects. If you or any other person shows symptoms of epilepsy, contact a doctor immediately.
  • This torch has a high own weight. Do not throw or hit this torch on people or animals or drop it on animals or people. Hold the torch by the loop and only place the torch on straight surfaces to prevent it from falling down accidentally.
  • The reflector of the torch gets very warm. Therefore, do not place the torch on inflammable objects (e.g. paper) and do not touch the reflector. Never cover the lamp! danger of heat accumulation.
  • Do not open the reflector (danger of burning and risk of fire!)
  • This torch must not be used underwater.
  • Keep packaging away from children. There is a risk of suffocation!

  • Contact with expired or damaged batteries may cause chemical burns to the skin and damage the eyes! In these cases, use suitable

  • Batteries must not be dismantled, pierced, damaged, short-circuited, heated or thrown into an open fire (risk of explosion!).
  • Do not use the torch if it is visibly damaged or is malfunctioning.
  • Make sure the torch is kept out of reach of children and people who are not able to use it correctly.
  • This torch is not a toy.
  • This torch is not suitable for household room illumination.
  • Repair of this torch is only permitted by the manufacturer (ABUS).

Attention

  • Keep the torch away from salt water. Salt water can damage the lamp and batteries and cause the product to malfunction.
  • Since this is an electronic product, please consider the wanted environment of use similar to the one of your smartphone.
  • Store the torch in an area that is dry, protected against direct sunlight and excessive heat, and inaccessible to children.
  • Do not use any harsh cleaning agents!
  • Never submerge the torch in water, cleaning fluid or other liquids. Never clean the torch under running water.
    Brushes with nylon bristles, metallic brushes or other hard surfaces and tools, such as coarse cleaning sponges, blades, scrapers and other similar items may damage the surface of the torch and cause it to malfunction or stop working.
  • We recommend using a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth to remove dust and dirt from the torch.
  • Remove the batteries if the torch is not used for an extended period of time.

First commissioning

  1. Unscrew the cover (E) of the battery compartment (C) and remove it.
  2. Insert 4 C type batteries (D) into the battery compartment. Make sure the polarity is correct when inserting them (see figure and note in the battery compartment)!
  3. Screw the cover back onto the battery compartment.

Operation

  1. Press the ON / OFF button (A). The lamp shines with full luminous intensity.
  2. By pressing the on/off button again each time you switch to > medium brightness > lower brightness > off.
  3. Press and hold (approx. 2 seconds) the button to switch on the flash light function (stroboscope effect). Press the on / off button to switch the flash light off again.
  4. By moving the lamp head (B), you can enlarge or reduce the light cone (zoom). With a large light cone you illuminate the close-up range, with a small light cone you illuminate the distance.

When the battery power runs low, the light starts to flicker and becomes weaker. Replace the batteries immediately with four new 1,5 V Alkaline C batteries. Only use high-quality brand-name batteries, for example Panasonic, Varta or Duracell.
