2. Proper use
This appliance is solely intended for making warm or cold milk froth, warming milk and making milk-based beverages.
This appliance is designed for use in private households and similar household applications, such as
-in kitchens for staff in retail outlets, offices and other commercial areas
-on agricultural estates
-by customers in hotels, motels and other accommodation facilities
-in bed-and-breakfast establishments.
Please note that we shall not be liable in cases of improper use:
Do not modify the appliance without our consent and do not use any auxiliary equipment that we have not approved or supplied.

WARNING!

Risk of injury due to improper use.
- Keep the appliance and its accessories out of the reach of children.
This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or people who lack experience and/or knowledge if proper supervision is provided or if these people have been instructed in how to use the appliance safely and have fully understood the possible dangers.
■ Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance.
■ Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are aged 8 or over and are supervised.

DANGER!
Risk of choking and suffocation!
There is a risk of choking and suffocation due to swallowing or inhaling small parts or plastic wrap.
- Keep all packaging materials used (bag, pieces of polystyrene etc.) out of the reach of children.

WARNING!
Risk of electric shock caused by moisture!
The base plate must not be immersed in water or other liquids, or held under running water, because this could cause an electric shock.
■ Always unplug the appliance plug from the mains power socket:
-when you are cleaning the appliance
- when the appliance/base plate is damp or wet

—during thunderstorms
- if you are no longer using the appliance.
■ Always hold the plug to pull it out and never pull the cable.
■ Never expose the base plate to water drops or water spray. Never immerse the appliance/base plate in water or other liquids!

■ Do not use the appliance outdoors.
■ Before cleaning the milk container, always remove the container from the base plate.
■ Do not expose the appliance to extreme conditions. Avoid:
-high humidity or wet conditions
—extremely high or low temperatures
-direct sunlight
-naked flames.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock!
There is a risk of electric shock due to live parts.
■ Only connect the appliance to a properly installed power socket. The mains voltage must match the technical specifications for the appliance.
■ The power socket must be easily accessible so that you can unplug the appliance from the mains quickly if necessary.
■ Check the appliance and the mains cable for damage before using the appliance for the first time and after each use.
■ Do not use the appliance if you notice that it, or its mains cable, is damaged.
■ Contact our Service Centre without delay if the appliance has been damaged during transport.
■ Do not, under any circumstances, make any unauthorised modifications to the appliance or try to open a component and/or repair it yourself.

If there is damage to the mains connection cable on this appliance, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service department or another suitably qualified person. This is necessary to avoid hazards.
■ Ensure that the mains cable does not come into contact with hot appliance parts or other heat sources.
■ Never open the housing.
■ To completely disconnect the appliance from the power supply, the mains plug must be removed from the earthed mains socket.
■ Only operate this appliance with the base plate supplied.

CAUTION!

The touchable surfaces on the appliance and the container become extremely hot when the appliance is in use. There is a risk of burns.
■ Do not touch the housing.
■ During operation, touch the appliance only by the milk container handle and the mode

■ Steam escapes during use. Do not reach into this steam.
■ Do not move the appliance when it is in use.
■ Never reach inside the appliance when it is in use.
■ The heating element remains hot for some time after the appliance is switched off. Ensure that the inside of the appliance is not touched.

CAUTION!

Injuries may result from using the appliance carelessly.
■ Never leave the appliance unattended when it is in use.
■ Ensure the mains cable does not become a tripping hazard – do not use an extension cable.
■ Place the appliance on a stable, level surface.
- Never place the appliance on the edge of a table – it could tip over and fall.
■ Never use the appliance without milk. Never use the appliance if the lid is not put on properly.

■ Do not exceed the MAX fill level. Boiling liquid could spurt out. Do not open the lid when the appliance is in use.

There is a risk of fire because the appliance surfaces become extremely hot when it is in use.
■ Ensure that the appliance does not come into contact with any other objects during use. Allow sufficient clearance in all directions and above. Above all, do not set up the appliance near easily flammable materials (curtains, drapes, paper etc.).
■ Do not cover the appliance.
■ Do not place any objects on the appliance.
■ Do not place the appliance on surfaces that can become hot (e.g. on hotplates).
■ Do not operate the appliance with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
■ Leave a little space between this appliance and other appliances or the wall to allow air

to circulate freely. Do not cover the appliance when it is in use.

NOTICE!

Using the appliance in a way that was not intended may damage it.
■ Do not kink the mains cable or wrap it around the appliance. Unwind the cable fully when using the appliance. Do not kink or crush the mains cable.
■ Do not use the milk container in the microwave.
■ Only use the supplied milk container for operation.

Use the whisk (5) for all applications to prevent the milk from burning.
Place the whisk (5) onto the pin in the milk container (11).
▶ Fill the milk container (11) as specified in the following table.

▶ Press the mode selection button ⏻ (8) once or several times until the operating light (3, 4, 9 or 10) for the respective function lights up.
The selected programme starts after 2 seconds. At the end of the programme, the indicator flashes and turns off when the appliance switches off automatically.
Remove the lid (1) and pour the milk froth/drink into a suitable container once the programme is complete.
7.1. Interrupting operation
To interrupt operation, remove the milk container (11) from the base plate (7) or press and hold the mode selection button (8) until the appliance switches off.
7.2. Ending operation
▶ Unplug the mains plug on the base plate (7) and clean the appliance as described in section "Cleaning the appliance" in the full user manual.

9. Disposal
PACKAGING
Your appliance has been packaged to protect it from damage in transit. The packaging is made of materials that can be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.

Do not dispose of old appliances in normal household waste. In accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU, the appliance must be properly disposed of at the end of its service life.
This involves separating the materials in the appliance for the purpose of recycling and minimising the environmental impact.
Take old appliances to an electrical scrap collection point or a recycling centre.
Contact your local waste disposal company or your local authority for more information on this subject.
