This appliance is solely intended for making warm or cold milk froth, warming milk and making milk-based beverages. This appliance is designed for use in private households and similar household applications, such as − in kitchens for staff in retail outlets, offices and other commer- cial areas − on agricultural estates − by customers in hotels, motels and other accommodation facil- ities − in bed-and-breakfast establishments. Please note that we shall not be liable in cases of improper use: Do not modify the appliance without our consent and do not use any auxiliary equipment that we have not approved or supplied. Only use replacement parts or accessories that we have supplied or approved. Comply with all the information in this user manual, especially the safety instructions. Any other use is considered improper and can cause personal injury or property damage.10 - English

ENCE! WARNING! Risk of injury! Risk of injury due to improper use. Keep the appliance and its accessories out of the reach of children. This appliance can be used by children aged 8years and above, by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or people who lack experience and/or knowl- edge if proper supervision is provided or if these people have been instructed in how to use the appliance safely and have fully under- stood the possible dangers. Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are aged 8 or over and are supervised.English - 11 Do not allow children younger than 8 years old near the appliance and its power cable. Do not expose the appliance to extreme con- ditions. Avoid: − high humidity or wet conditions − extremely high or low temperatures − direct sunlight − naked flames.English - 13 WARNING! Risk of electric shock! There is a risk of electric shock due to live parts. Only connect the appliance to a properly in- stalled power socket. The mains voltage must match the technical specifications for the appli- ance. The power socket must be easily accessible so that you can unplug the appliance from the mains quickly if necessary. Check the appliance and the mains cable for damage before using the appliance for the first time and after each use. Do not use the appliance if you notice that it, or its mains cable, is damaged. Contact our Service Centre without delay if the appliance has been damaged during trans- port. Do not, under any circumstances, make any unauthorised modifications to the appliance or try to open a component and/or repair it yourself.14 - English If there is damage to the mains connection ca- ble on this appliance, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service depart- ment or another suitably qualified person. This is necessary to avoid hazards. Ensure that the mains cable does not come into contact with hot appliance parts or other heat sources. Never open the housing. To completely disconnect the appliance from the power supply, the mains plug must be re- moved from the earthed mains socket. Only operate this appliance with the base plate supplied. CAUTION! Risk of injury! The touchable surfaces on the appliance and the container become extremely hot when the appliance is in use. There is a risk of burns. Do not touch the housing. Do not move the appliance when it is in use. Never reach inside the appliance when it is in use. The heating element remains hot for some time after the appliance is switched off. Ensure that the inside of the appliance is not touched. CAUTION! Risk of injury! Injuries may result from using the appli- ance carelessly. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is in use. Ensure the mains cable does not become a tripping hazard – do not use an extension ca- ble. Place the appliance on a stable, level surface. Never place the appliance on the edge of a table – it could tip over and fall. Never use the appliance without milk. Never use the appliance if the lid is not put on properly.16 - English Do not exceed the MAX fill level. Boiling liquid could spurt out. Do not open the lid when the appliance is in use. WARNING! Risk of fire! There is a risk of fire because the appliance surfaces become extremely hot when it is in use. Ensure that the appliance does not come into contact with any other objects during use. Al- low sufficient clearance in all directions and above. Above all, do not set up the appliance near easily flammable materials (curtains, drapes, paper etc.). Do not cover the appliance. Do not place any objects on the appliance. Do not place the appliance on surfaces that can become hot (e.g. on hotplates). Do not operate the appliance with an external timer or a separate remote control system. 7. Using the milk frother
The detailed user manual contains in-depth information on how to use the appliance. Use the whisk (5) for all applications to prevent the milk from burning. Place the whisk (5) onto the pin in the milk container (11). Fill the milk container (11) as specified in the following table. Place the lid (1) onto the milk container (11). Press the mode selection button (8) once or several times until the operating light (3, 4, 9 or 10) for the respective function lights up. The selected programme starts after 2 seconds. At the end of the pro- gramme, the indicator flashes and turns off when the appliance switch- es off automatically. Remove the lid (1) and pour the milk froth/drink into a suitable con- tainer once the programme is complete. 7.1. Interrupting operation To interrupt operation, remove the milk container (11) from the base plate (7) or press and hold the mode selection button (8) until the appli- ance switches off. 7.2. Ending operation Unplug the mains plug on the base plate (7) and clean the appli- ance as described in section “Cleaning the appliance” in the full user manual.22 - English
