2. Intended purpose

The milk frother is intended exclusively for frothing (warm or cold) or heating milk. The device is designed for private, domestic use. The device must only be used indoors. This device must not be used for commercial purposes.

- Protect the device from moisture, water drops and water splashes: failure to observe this instruction may result in an electric shock hazard. - If liquid gets into the device base, immediately pull out the mains plug. Have the device checked before reusing.

  • Do not use the device if the device or the power cable has any visible damage, or if the device base has previously been dropped.
  • Only connect the mains plug to a properly installed and easily accessible wall socket with earthing contact whose voltage corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after the device is plugged in.
  • Ensure that the power cable cannot be damaged by sharp edges or hot spots. Do not wrap the power cable around the device.

  • Even after it has been switched off, the device is not completely disconnected from the power supply. In order to fully disconnect it, pull out the mains plug.

  • When using the device, ensure that the power cable cannot be trapped or crushed.
  • When removing the mains plug from the wall socket, always pull on the plug and never the cable.
  • Pull the mains plug out of the wall socket:
  • when a malfunction occurs
  • when you are not using the milk frother
  • before cleaning the milk frother
  • during thunderstorms
  • In order to avoid any hazards, do not make modifications to the device.

  • Operate the milk frother only with the lid on, as otherwise hot milk froth may spray out.
  • The milk frother becomes hot during operation. Touch it only using the handle.

WARNING! Risk of material damage!

- The device is fitted with non-slip silicon feet. Because furniture can be coated with a wide variety of varnishes and plastics, and treated with various care products, the possibility cannot be excluded that some of these substances have components that may attack and soften the silicon feet. If necessary, place a non-slip mat under the device.

- Fill the device at least up to above the marker line MIN 10 with 75 ml of milk, as the milk may otherwise burn and the device may overheat.

  • Never fill the milk frother with liquids other than cool fresh milk!
  • Allow the device to cool down for approx. 3 minutes before using it again.
    To prevent the milk from burning and overheating, never use the device without the whisk in place.
  • Place the device on a stable, level surface.
  • Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.

5. How to use

DANGER! Risk of electric shock!

  • Only connect the mains plug 8 to a properly installed and easily accessible wall socket with earthing contact whose voltage corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after the device is plugged in.
  • Pull the mains plug 8 out from the wall socket after every use.

  • Remove all packing material.

  • Check to ensure that all parts are present and undamaged.
  • Clean the device prior to its first use! (see "Cleaning" on page 24)
  • Place the whisk 3 on the drive axle 6.
  • If necessary, unwind the power cable 8 completely and feed it through the recess in the base 9.
  • Place the device on a dry, level, non-slip surface.

6. Operation

6.1 Preparation tips

The quality of the milk froth depends heavily on the milk used and can vary.

  • Only use cow's milk. Other types of milk are difficult to froth or cause the pot 5 to overflow.
  • Cool milk with a fat content of 3.5% or 1.5% is particularly suitable for frothing. Warm milk and skimmed milk do not froth so well.
  • Do not try to froth the same milk a second time, as it will no longer froth and may burn.
  • Leave the milk froth to stand for a while after preparation. This can improve the consistency and milk that is still liquid can collect at the bottom of the pot 5.

6.2 The programs

  • Fill the device with at least 75 ml of milk above the marker line MNO, as the milk may otherwise burn and the device may overheat.
  • Make sure you use the whisk 3 also for program 3 to prevent the milk from burning and overheating!

6.3 Starting the preparation

- Always operate the milk frother with the lid 1 on, otherwise hot milk froth may spray out!

WARNING! Risk of material damage!

  • Fill the device with at least 75 ml of milk above the marker line MIN 10, as the milk may otherwise burn and the device may overheat.
  • Allow the device to cool down for approx. 3 minutes before using it again.
  • If you remove the milk froth other than by pouring it out, take care not to scratch the non-stick coating on the inside of the pot 5.
  • Never fill the pot 5 with liquids other than fresh, cool milk!

  • Remove the pot 5 from the base 9.

  • Add the maximum amount of milk according to the program selected.
  • Close the pot 5 with the lid 1.
  • Place the pot 5 on the base 9.
  • Press the button ⏻ 16 once or repeatedly to select the desired program.
  • A control light on the ring 17 flashes at the corresponding symbol.
  • After a short time, the program starts and the control light is lit continuously.
  • The program stops automatically after preparation and the control light flashes. Wait until the control light switches off before removing the lid.

NOTES:

  • To interrupt a program, press the button ⏻ 16 or lift the pot 5 from the base 9.
  • Put the milk froth on the coffee using a silicone spatula, for example. This leaves the rest of the milk that has not been frothed in the pot 5.

6.4 Boil-dry protection / overheating protection

Boil-dry protection

If the device is switched on without milk or with too little milk, it will switch off automatically after a certain time. The 3 red control lights are lit continuously and the device does not start.

- Allow the device to cool down. If necessary, pour out the hot milk and pour in at least 75 ml of cold milk above the marker line MIN 10.

Overheating protection

If the device is operated several times in succession without allowing it to cool down in between, it will switch off automatically after some time. The 3 red control lights are lit continuously and the device does not start.

- Allow the device to cool down for at least 5 minutes.

7. Cleaning

  • Pull the mains plug 8 out of the wall socket before you clean the milk frother.
  • The pot 5, the base 9, the power cable and the mains plug 8 must not be immersed in water or other liquids.

- The inside of the pot 5 becomes hot during operation. Allow the pot 5 to cool down before cleaning.

WARNING! Risk of material damage!

- Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.

First cleaning / Thorough cleaning

NOTE: if, for example, the spiral becomes detached from the plastic connector when removing the whisk 3, simply press it back together (plug-in connection).

  1. Remove the whisk 3 from the pot 5. Clean the lid 1, the whisk 3 and the inside of the pot 5 by hand with warm water and detergent. Wipe the inside of the pot with a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry the parts.
  2. Only wipe the base 9 with a slightly damp cloth.
  3. Clean the outside of the pot 5 with a damp cloth. You can also use a little detergent. Wipe with a clean cloth with clear water.
  4. Allow all parts to dry thoroughly before assembling them.

Cleaning after each use

Clean the inside of the pot 5 after each use when it has cooled down.

  1. Leave the whisk 3 assembled in the pot 5. Fill with water and a little detergent up to the marker line MAXI (150 ml).
  2. Start program 1 and let it run for approx. 10 seconds.
  3. Remove the pot 5 from the base 9 and pour out the water.
  4. Rinse with clear water.

8. Storage

DANGER for children!

- Keep the device out of the reach of children.

  • Allow the device to cool down and clean it before putting it away.
    • Figure B: wind the power cable 8 in the bottom of the base 9 in the direction of the arrow in the cable spool 20.

9. Disposal

This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EC. The symbol showing a wheelie bin crossed through indicates that the product requires separate refuse collection in the European Union. This applies to the product and all accessories marked with this symbol. Products identified with this symbol may not be discarded with normal household waste, but must be taken to a collection point for recycling electric and electronic appliances.

12. Warranty of the HOYER Handel GmbH

Dear Customer,

your device is provided with a 3 year warranty starting with the purchase date. In the event of product defects, you are entitled to statutory rights against the vendor. These statutory rights are not restricted by our warranty presented in the following.

Warranty conditions

The warranty period starts with the purchase date. Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. This document is required to verify the purchase.

If within three years from the purchase date of this product a material or factory defect occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced by us – at our discretion – free of charge to you, or the purchase price will be refunded. This warranty implies that within the period of three years the defective device and the purchase receipt are presented, including a brief written description of the defect and the time it occurred.

If the defect is covered by our warranty, the repaired or a new product will be returned to you. No new warranty period starts with a repair or replacement of the product.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects

The warranty period is not extended when the warranty has been claimed. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damages and defects already existing at the time of purchase must be reported immediately upon unpacking. Repairs arising after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to a charge.

Warranty coverage
