Which batteries can be charged with this Parkside HG08982 charger?

This charger is compatible with Parkside X20 V-Team batteries: PAP 20 A1 (2 Ah, 5 cells), PAP 20 A2 (3 Ah, 10 cells), PAP 20 A3 (4 Ah, 10 cells), PAP 20 B1 (2 Ah, 5 cells), PAP 20 B3 (4 Ah, 10 cells), PAPS 204 A1 (4 Ah, 5 cells) and PAPS 208 A1 (8 Ah, 10 cells).

How long does it take to charge a battery?

The charging time depends on the type and condition of the battery. For a PAP 20 A1 battery, the charging time is not specified in the manual. Generally, expect about 1 to 2 hours for a 2 Ah battery and up to 4 hours for an 8 Ah battery.

Can I use this charger outdoors?

No, the charger is designed for indoor use in dry rooms only. It must not be exposed to moisture or rain.

What do the LED indicators on the charger mean?

Solid red LED: charging in progress. Solid green LED: battery fully charged. Flashing red LED: battery too cold or too hot. Flashing green and red LEDs: battery defective. Solid green LED without battery: charger ready.

Can I mount the charger on the wall?

Yes, the charger can be wall-mounted. Drill two holes 76.2 mm apart, insert wall plugs and screw in round head screws (head diameter 7-8 mm) leaving the head protruding about 8 mm. Hang the charger by the holes on the back.

How do I clean the charger?

Clean the charger with a dry cloth. For hard-to-reach places, use a soft brush. Make sure no liquid enters the interior. Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning products.

What should I do if the red and green LEDs flash simultaneously?

This indicates a defective battery. Replace the battery with a compatible model and do not attempt to charge a damaged battery.

What is the warranty period for this charger?

The charger has a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. Keep the receipt as proof of purchase.

Can I charge non-rechargeable batteries with this charger?

No, this charger is designed only for Parkside rechargeable batteries. Never charge conventional or non-rechargeable batteries, as this is dangerous.

How do I dispose of the charger at the end of its life?

Do not dispose of the charger with household waste. Take it to an appropriate collection point or recycling center. Recyclable packaging must be sorted according to local regulations.

Operation

• Charging the battery pack (Fig. A)

NOTE

The battery pack 1 may be charged at any time without reducing the life.

Interrupting the charging process does not damage the battery pack 1.

• Charge the battery pack 1 before use when it is at medium or low charging level.
  The charging control LEDs (green 5 and red 4) indicate the status of the charger 3 and the battery pack 1:

Insert the battery pack 1 into the charger 3.
- Connect the power plug 2 to a socket-outlet.
- When the battery pack 1 is fully charged: Remove the battery pack from the charger 3. Disconnect the power plug 2 from the socket-outlet.

Positioning the product

The charger 3 can be used either free-standing or mounted on the wall.

Wall mounting

• Drill 2 holes in the wall with a spacing of 76.2 ~mm .
  Place 2 dowels into the holes.
  Place 2 round-head screws with screw head diameter of 7 to 8mm into the dowels (Fig. B). Leave the screw head protruding at a distance of approx. 8mm from the wall.

• Place the charger 3 onto the screws using the openings at the back of the charger 3. The charging control LEDs (green 5 and red 4) have to be located on the lower end of the charger 3.

When drilling, be careful not to damage any supply lines. Use suitable search devices to find the supply lines or consult the installation plan for guidance.
- Contact with electrical cables can lead to electric shock and fire.
- Contact with a gas pipe can result in an explosion.
- Damage to a water pipe can lead to property damage and electric shock.

Cleaning and care

Cleaning

Never allow fluids to get into the product.
The product must always be kept clean, dry and free from oil or grease. Remove debris from it after each use and before storage.
Regular and proper cleaning will help ensure safe use and prolong the life of the product.
Clean the product with a dry cloth. Use a soft brush for areas that are hard to reach.
In particular clean the air vents after every use with a cloth and soft brush.
The vents must always be clear.

NOTE

Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive or other aggressive detergents or disinfectants to clean this product as they might be harmful to its surfaces.

Maintenance

The product is maintenance-free.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1-7: plastics / 20-22: paper and fibreboard / 80-98: composite materials.

The product and packaging materials are recyclable, dispose of it separately for better waste treatment.

The Triman logo is valid in France only.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

Warranty

The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of product defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase.

Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it - at our choice - free of charge to you. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.

The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or glass parts.
