The stated vibration emission value may also be used for a preliminary exposure assessment.
Warning: The vibration emission
value may differ during actual use of the power tool from the stated value depending on the manner in which the power tool is used. Try to keep the exposure to vibra- tions as low as possible. Examples of measures to reduce vibration exposure are the wearing of gloves when using the tool and limiting the working hours. For this purpose all parts of the operating cycle have to be considered (for example, times when the electric tool is switched off and times when it is switched on but running without any load). Noise and vibration values were deter- mined according to the standards and stipulations mentioned in the declaration of conformity. - Wear suitable work clothing such as stable shoes with non- slip soles and robust, long trou- sers. Do not use the equipment when barefoot or when wearing open sandals. Avoid wearing loose clothing or clothing with hanging cords or belts.
- Before each use, carry out a visual inspection of the equip- ment. Do not use the equipment if protective devices (e.g. colli-loading-circle-127 MTGB transit, when crossing surfaces other than grass, and when the equipment is being transported to and from the surfaces to be mowed.
- Always keep the grass ejection hole clean and clear. Remove cut material only when the equipment is stopped.
- Do not leave the equipment un- attended in the workplace.
- Do not work with equipment that is damaged, incomplete, or has been modi ed without the authorisation of the manufac- turer. Do not use the equipment with damaged safety devices or screens or with missing safety equipment such as defl ection and/or grass collection devices.

- Keep the equipment in a dry location and out of reach of children.
- Handle the equipment with care. Keep tools sharp and clean, in order to facilitate bet- ter and safer work. Follow the maintenance instructions.
- Wear protective gloves when changing the cutting device.
- Regularly check the grass collec- tion device for wear and strains. For safety reasons, replace worn or damaged parts. When adjusting the blades, take par- ticular care to avoid ngers being trapped between the ro- tating blades and xed parts of the machine.
- Check that only replacement tools authorised by the manufac- turer are used. Electrical Safety:
- The plug of the charger must t into the socket. The plug must not be modi ed in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs together with electric tools that have a protective earth. Un- modi ed plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of elec- tric shock.
- Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigera- tors. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
- Do not expose electric tools to rain or wet conditions. The pen- etration of water into an electric tool increases the risk of electric shock.
- Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by PARKSIDE. This can result in electric shock or re Observe the safety informa- tion and notes on charging and proper use as shown in the instruction manual for your battery and charger from the Parkside X20 V Team series. two star grip nuts (10) on the left and right of the device. The correct cutting height is between 25 and 30mm for an ornamental lawn and about 30 to 65mm for a utility lawn. A high cutting height should be selected for the rst mowing of the season. Observe noise protection rules and other local regulations. 3. To remove the grass collection box
(12), unhook the grass collection box (12) and unfasten the clip fastener (26). Fold back the impact protection (11) on the housing (9).31 MTGB Working with the Lawnmower Regular mowing encourages increased foli- ation of the grass and kills off weeds at the same time. Therefore, not only does each mowing increase the density of the lawn, it also produces an evenly resilient lawn. The rst cut is to be made in around April, at a growth height of 70 – 80 mm. In the main vegetation period, the lawn is to be mowed at least once a week.
- Run the equipment at a walking pace, in tracks that are as even as possible. For gap-free mowing, the tracks should always overlap by a few centimetres.
- Adjust the cut height so the equipment is not overloaded. Otherwise, the mo- tor may be damaged.
- On slopes, always work across the slope. Take particular care when going backwards and pulling the equipment.
- Clean the equipment after each use, as described in the chapter on “Cleaning, Maintenance and Storage”. Switch off the equipment after work and in order to transport it, disconnect the plug and wait until the blade stops. There is a risk of in- jury. Mowing without the grass collection box Fold the impact protection down when mowing with- out the grass collection box. There is a risk of injury. When mowing without the grass collec- tion box, the very ne grass cuttings are not collected in a collection box, but are shredded and remain on the lawn. The nutrients contained in the clippings are thus left to be broken down by soil organisms and form a nutrient cycle. Mulched lawns therefore need to be fertilised much less frequently. As a basic rule, the lawn has to be mowed relatively often so that only small amounts of grass cuttings remain on the lawn. It is therefore best to mow the lawn at least once a week without the grass collection box and to adjust the mower so that only about 40% of the total height of the lawn becomes cutting grass. If the grass cuttings remain visible on the lawn (for example when cutting the lawn for the rst time of the year or during strong growth), the grass collection box (12) should be used. Cleaning, Maintenance and Storage Have work that is not de- scribed in these instructions carried out by a customer service centre that we have authorised. Use only original parts. Wear gloves when handling theblade Switch off the device, pull the ignition key (17) and wait for the blades to come to a stop. There is a risk of personal injury. General Cleaning and Maintenance Work Do not hose down the lawn- mower with water. Electric shock hazard32 GB MT
- Always keep the equipment clean. To clean, use a brush or cloth but no de- tergent or solvent.
- After mowing, use a piece of wood or plastic to remove adherent plant remains from the wheels, ventilation holes, ejection hole and blade area. Do not use hard or pointed objects, as these may damage the blade.
- Before each use, check the lawnmower for obvious defects such as loose, worn or damaged parts. Check that all nuts, bolts and screws are sitting rmly.
- Check the covers and protective de- vices for damage and check that they are sitting correctly. Replace them if necessary Replacing blades If the blade is blunt, it can be re-sharpened or replaced. Contact a specialist workshop or the service centre. Maintaining/adjusting the blade Your lawnmower’s blade is adjusted to the optimal settings at the factory. If the grass isn’t cut as clean after a longer period of use, please correct the position of the lower blade.
1. Check the cutting roll (28) and the
lower blade (27) for nicks and remove them with a grindstone if necessary.
2. Loosen the two hexagon screws (29)
on the left and right of the lower blade (27) using the hexagon socket screw- driver (15).
3. Slide the supplied metal plate (16)
(feeler gauge) on the one side between a blade of the cutting roll (28) and the lower blade (27).
4. Tighten the two hexagon screws (29)
on the same side using the hexagon socket screwdriver (15) until the metal plate (16) (feeler gauge) clamps lightly between the cutting roll (28) and the lower blade (27).
5. Continue turning the cutting roll (28)
until the adjusted blade is directly be- low the lower blade (27) on the other side.
6. Now, tighten the two hexagon screws
(29) on the same side using the hexa- gon socket screwdriver (15) until the metal plate (16) (feeler gauge) clamps lightly between the cutting roll (28) and the lower blade (27).
Check: Spin the cutting roll (28). If the cutting roll (28) and the lower blade (27) touch and the contact can barely be heard, the blade is ad- justed correctly. Storage Loosen the four wing nuts (3) and fold the bow-type handle (1) and the centre bars (5) up to store the device. Ensure that the device’s cable (13) is not trapped.
- Keep the equipment dry and out of reach of children.
- Allow the motor to cool before storing the equipment in a con ned space.
- Before a longer period of storage (e.g. over winter), remove the battery from the equipment. We will not be liable for damages caused by our equipment where these are caused by improper repair or the use of non- original parts or by use other than for the intended purpose.33 MTGB Waste disposal and environmental protection Remove the battery from the device and recycle the device, accessories and pack- aging in an environmentally-friendly man- ner.
