This equipment is not suitable for commercial use.
Commercial use will invalidate the guarantee.
Any other use that is not explicitly approved in these instructions may result in damage to the equipment and represent a serious danger to the user.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use or incorrect operation.

Description of functions
The rechargeable automatic hot glue pen has a temperature indicator and a button for dispensing the adhesive. Refer to the following descriptions for the function of control elements.

General safety instructions
This device can be used by children aged 8 years and up as well as individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of ex-
perience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the device and understand the res- ulting hazards. Children must never play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children if they are not supervised.

- Only have repairs performed by customer service centres authorized by us.
- Comply with the device's cleaning and mainten-
ance instructions.
- Store the device in a dry place and out of reach of children.
- Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by PARKSIDE.

Correct handling of the charger device
This device can be used by children aged 8 years and up as well as individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the resulting hazards. Children must never play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children if they are not supervised.
a) The charger must only be connected to a mains socket via a residual-current circuit breaker (RCD) with a rated leakage current of not more than 30 mA.
b) Do not charge any non-rechargeable batteries with the charger.
c) Before each use, check the charger, cable and plug, and have repairs
carried out by qualified personnel using only original spare parts. Do not use the charger if defective and do not open it yourself. This ensures the safety of the device is maintained.
d) Make sure that the mains voltage matches the details on the charger's type plate. Risk of electric shock.
e) Disconnect the charger from the mains supply before closing or opening connections to the electric tool. This ensures the rechargeable battery and charger are not damaged.
f) Keep the charger clean and away from moisture and rain. Never use the charger outdoors. Soiling and penetration of water increase the risk of electric shock.
g) The charger may only be used with the corresponding original rechargeable batteries. Charging other batteries can lead to injuries
and the risk of fire.
h) Avoid mechanical damage to the charger. This can lead to internal short circuits.
i) The charger must not be operated on flammable surfaces (e.g. paper, textiles). Risk of fire due to heating caused by charging.
i) In order to minimise the risk of electric shock, pull the charger plug out of the socket prior to cleaning it.
k) If the connection cable of this device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or their customer service or by a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards.
I) Do not connect a damaged cable to the power supply. Do not touch a damaged cable before it has been disconnected from the power supply, as you could come into contact with active parts.
Charging process

Do not expose the battery to extreme conditions such as heat and shocks. There is a risk of injury caused by leaking electrolyte solution! In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse the affected sites with water or a neutralising agent and seek medical attention.

The battery must only be charged up in dry areas. There is a risk of personal inju- ries from an electric shock.
- The device may only be powered with SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) as indicated by the label on the appliance.
- Charge the battery before using it for the first time.
- To charge the Li-ion battery integrated in the device, use only the WJG-Y130502400WU1 power adapter. The power adapter is available from our online shop.
- For charging use only
protection class II power supply approved for use with household products.
• Always comply with the latest safety instructions, as well as the regulations and information relating to environmental protection.
- Defects resulting from improper handling are not covered by the warranty.

Charging the battery
- Plug a power adapter into a socket.
Insert the USB plug (A 10) of the charging cable into the power adapter. - Connect the charging cable connector (9) to the charging socket (7) on the device.

The battery indicator (A 4) lights up:
Red illuminated - battery < 30%, charging red/orange illuminated - battery > 30%, charging Red/orange/green illuminated - battery fully charged -
Once charging is complete, disconnect the power adap-
ter from the mains supply.
Initial start-up
General working instructions
- Remove the power supply unit before working with the equipment. Do not use extension cables. The power supply unit is to be used only in enclosed spaces.

Wearing hearing protection reduces the risk of hearing damage.

Switching on/off
- Press and hold the On/Off switch (3) for approx. 2 seconds to start the device. The temperature indicator (2) lights up red.
- To switch the device off, press the On/Off switch (3).
Checking the charge status of the battery
The battery charge level indicator (A 4) signalises the state of charge of the battery.

- Press the On/Off switch. The state of charge of the battery is indicated by the 3 coloured LED lights:
Red-amber-green => battery > 60%
Red-amber => battery charged 30% - 60%
Red => battery < 30%. please charge

Gluing

Insert a glue stick (8) the glue stick chamber

Turn the device on (see "Switching on/off").

Allow the device to heat up. Do not press the button (5) while the device is heating up. The temperature indicator (2) switches to green as soon as the device is ready.

As long as the temperature indicator (2) is
red, the device has not rea- ched the operating temperatu- re required for gluing.

Press the button (5) to dispense glue.
-
Press the nozzle (1) onto the materials you want to glue
to apply glue. Please note the tips for gluing below.
- If necessary, press on the glue stick (8) a bit.
- Press the materials you want to glue together for approx. 10 to 30 seconds. During this time, you can still correct the bond.

Working instructions
- The glue and nozzle heat up to 150°C. There is a danger of burns! If hot glue comes into contact with your skin, hold the affected area under cold water straight away for several minutes. Do not attempt to remove the hot glue from the skin. If necessary, seek medical assistance.
Only use any accessories that are recommended by Parkside.
- Only use glue sticks with
a low melting temperature (110-150°C). Do not use glue sticks suitable for higher operating temperatures (170-200°C).
- Bonds can dissolve due to the effects of moisture.
- Keep bonds clean, dry and free of grease.
- Do not use any flammable or combustible materials.

Only work in operating temperatures between 5°C and 50°C.
-
Keep the housing and handles of the device clean. Use a damp cloth or brush to do this.
Do not use cleaning agents or solvents. You may otherwise irreparably damage the appliance. - Clean the nozzle (1) with a blunt object as soon as the glue and nozzle have cooled sufficiently.
Maintenance
Cleaning and maintenance

Ask our service centre to carry out any work that is not described in these instructions. Use only original parts.
Cleaning
Perform the following cleaning work regularly. This will guarantee long and reliable use.

The device must not be sprayed with water or placed in water. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.
The equipment is maintenance free.
Storage
- Store the device in a dry and dustproof location and out of reach of children.
- Only store the batteries in the partially-charged state. The charge status should amount to 40-60% during a lengthy storage period (1-2 LEDs are on).
- Store the device between 10 °C and 25 °C. Avoid extreme cold or heat during storage, so that the batteries do not lose power.

- Check the battery charge status approximately every 3 months during a lengthy storage period and recharge if necessary.
Disposal/ environmental protection
The device, accessories and packaging should be properly recycled.

Machines do not belong with domestic waste.

Do not dispose of the device with a built-in battery
in the household waste, a fire (risk of explosion) or water. Damaged batteries can harm the environment and your health if poisonous fumes or liquids escape.
- Dispose of the device with the battery discharged. Do not open the device or battery.
- Dispose of the device in accordance with the local regulations. Return the device to a collection point from
where it can be submitted for environmentally compatible recycling. For more information, please contact your local waste management provider or our service centre.
• We will dispose of any defective devices that you send to us free of charge.
Guarantee
Dear Customer, This equipment is provided with a 3-year guarantee from the date of purchase. In case of defects, you have statutory rights against the seller of the product. These statutory rights are not restricted by our guarantee presented below.
Terms of Guarantee
The term of the guarantee begins on the date of purchase. Please retain the original receipt. This document is required as proof of purchase. If a material or manufacturing defect occurs within three years of the date of purchase of this product, we will repair or replace – at our choice – the
product for you free of charge. This guarantee requires the defective equipment and proof of purchase to be presented within the three-year period with a brief written description of what constitutes the defect and when it occurred.
If the defect is covered by our guarantee, you will receive either the repaired product or a new product. No new guarantee period begins on repair or replacement of the product.
Guarantee Period and Statutory Claims for Defects
The guarantee period is not extended by the guarantee service. This also applies for replaced or repaired parts. Any damages and defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs arising after expiry of the guarantee period are chargeable.
Guarantee Cover
The equipment has been carefully produced in accordance with strict quality guidelines and conscientiously checked prior to delivery.
The guarantee applies for all material and manufacturing defects. This guarantee does not extend to cover product parts that are subject to normal wear and may therefore be considered as wearing parts (e.g. glue sticks) or to cover damage to breakable parts (e.g. switches).
This guarantee shall be invalid if the product has been damaged, used incorrectly or not maintained. Precise adherence to all of the instructions specified in the operating manual is required for proper use of the product. Intended uses and actions against which the operating manual advises or warns must be categorically avoided. The product is designed only for private and not commercial use. The guarantee will be invalidated in case of misuse or improper handling, use of force, or interventions not undertaken by our authorised service branch.
Processing in Case of Guarantee
To ensure quick handling of you issue, please follow the following directions:
- Please have the receipt and item number (IAN 373241_2104) ready as proof of purchase for all enquiries.
- Please find the item number on the rating plate.
- Should functional errors or other defects occur, please initially contact the service department specified below by telephone or by e-mail. You will then receive further information on the processing of your complaint.
- After consultation with our customer service, a product recorded as defective can be sent postage paid to the service address communicated to you, with the proof of purchase (receipt) and specification of what constitutes the defect and when it occurred. In order to avoid acceptance problems and additional costs, please be sure to use only the address
communicated to you. En- sure that the consignment is not sent carriage forward or by bulky goods, express or other special freight. Please send the equipment inc. all accessories supplied at the time of purchase and ensure adequate, safe transport packaging.
Repair Service
For a charge, repairs not covered by the guarantee can be carried out by our service branch, which will be happy to issue a cost estimate for you. We can handle only equipment that has been sent with adequate packaging and postage.
Attention: Please send your equipment to our service branch in clean condition and with an indication of the defect. Equipment sent carriage forward or by bulky goods, express or other special freight will not be accepted.
We will dispose of your defective devices free of charge when you send them to us.
