Electrical safety

Always check that the voltage of the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate label.
Replacing cables or plugs
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard. Immediately throw away old cables or plugs when they have been replaced by new ones. It is dangerous to insert the plug of a loose cable in the wall outlet.
- Do not use the machine if the mains cable or the mains plug is damaged.
- Only use extension cables that are suitable for the power rating of the machine with a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm^2 . If you use an extension cable reel, always fully unroll the cable.

3. ASSEMBLY
Fitting the hose (fig. A and B)
- Screw one end of the hose (4) to the hose connector (5) on the boiler tank (2).
- Screw the other end of the hose (4) to the steam plate (6).
- Check that the hose has been connected properly.
Initial filling of the boiler reservoir (fig. C)

Warning! Make sure that the appliance is unplugged.
- Unscrew and remove the filler cap (7).
Note: When filling the boiler, use clean tap water only. - Fill the boiler tank (2) with water. Do not overfill the tank past the MAX indicator (maximum 4.5 litres) see fig. D.
- Place the boiler filler cap (7) back, do not over-tighten.
- Place the steam plate (6) in a bucket before starting the machine, never lay the steaming plate flat on a surface always on its back see fig. H.
Power cable (fig. E)
- Plug the connector of the power cable (8) in to the machine.
- Plug the mains plug of the power cable (8) into the power supply.
- The machine will automatically start working when plugged in correctly.
TIP! Fill the machine with warm tap water to shorten the warm-up time.
4. OPERATION

Steam is hot! The unit is designed for safe, fast removal of wallpaper but please be aware that steam is produced at 100^ C so be careful, wear protective clothing and protect your hands with heat resistant gloves or mitts.
Please note: When waiting for the steam to appear and when putting the steam plate down during use, always place it on its back. This will prevent the steam coming into contact with anything that may be damaged. Some water may spit from the steam plate. However, this is quite normal and will not affect the performance of your unit.
Reaching temperature
- Depending upon the temperature of the water used to fill the boiler tank (2), the appliance will take between 6 and 11 minutes to start producing steam.
Refilling the boiler reservoir (fig. C)

WARNING! Refill boiler every 70 minutes. Do not go under the minimum level (fig. D). Do not re-fill while the boiler is pressurised!
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains supply.
- Wait at least 2 minutes for the water to cool and the pressure to decrease before removing the boiler filler cap (7).

The filler cap may be hot during use and during the cool down period.
- Unscrew and remove the filler cap (7).
- Fill the boiler tank (2) with clean tap water. Do not overfill the reservoir past the MAX indicator (maximum 4.5 litres) see fig. D.
- Replace the boiler filler cap (7), do not over-tighten.
- Plug the mains plug into the power supply.
- An additional feature is the safety valve. Should excess pressure build up inside the water tank, steam will automatically be released through the safety valve. This may be caused by the hose being shut off by standing on it or by placing a ladder on it.
- However, should the safety valve not operate for any reason, send the unit back for reparation.
Using the wallpaper stripper (fig. F, G, H, I)
- Check the state of your plaster before you start work as high temperature steam can loosen weak, porous or poorly bonded plaster. Plaster is also loosened more easily in areas of cracks, holes or if the steam plate is held in one position for too long.
- You may be able to detect if you have weak plaster by tapping a few areas of the walls with your knuckles. If this produces a hollow sound, we recommend proceeding only with extreme care.
- In all cases test out the wallpaper stripper on a small area, about 100 cm ^2 , before starting work properly.
- To achieve fastest paper removal always gently score the areas to be stripped (Fig. I).
- With heavily embossed, vinyl coated or painter papers this is essential. Either use a proprietary perforator tool or alternatively score the paper with the side of the wall scraper (9) in a criss-cross pattern with 150mm (6 inch) spacing.
- As with all decorating work be sure to protect carpets and furniture with covers.
- If at any stage finishing plaster is loosened or you hear a crack, do not continue. The wallpaper stripper is safe for drywall/plaster board surfaces.
- Due to the heat generated by this product, it is possible that certain surfaces for example carpets, soft furniture, table tops, cabinets etc., could be marked or damaged. To prevent this, ensure a wooden board or other barrier is placed under the boiler to prevent the heat damaging the surface. Dust sheets or newspapers are not adequate for this purpose.
- After checking and testing, hold the steam plate against the wallpaper you wish to remove. For small areas, you can remove the steam plate (6A) from the steam plate base (6B) (fig. F).
- For best results, remove wallpaper with a scraper (9). Scrape off wallpaper in a downward direction (fig. G).
- Always wear protection when removing wallpaper from the ceiling. Be careful of condensation collecting in the steam plate as hot water may drip. Empty the steam plate regularly and never use directly above your head.
- Always place the steam plate (6) in a suitable container when left unattended, even for a few seconds, and keep the steam plate facing away from you when in use (fig. H).
Storage
- Allow the appliance to cool for at least 10 minutes.
- Before storing, ensure that all water has been emptied from the water tank and dry it with a cloth.
- Store the appliance upright in a dry place.
Safety cut out
A safety cut out is fitted to prevent overheating the element if the water level is low. If unit stops boiling during use this may be the cause. Wait for 2 minutes before removing the filling cap then re-fill with clean tap water. The cut-out will self-reset and steam be produced again within 5-25 minutes.
The cut-out will not protect the element if a partly filled unit is tilted during use in a way which enables part of the element to be out of the water for longer than 15-20 seconds.
5. MAINTENANCE

Warning! Before performing any maintenance, switch off and unplug the appliance and allow it to cool. Occasionally rinse the boiler with tap water until it runs clear.
Do not use chemical additives.
This appliance/tool has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Unit fails to boil
The unit had probably not been left for long enough to cool- refer to section on safety cut out. Check the fuse in the plug is sound and rated at 13 amps. If using an extension cord check that it is rated at a minimum of 10 amps and fully unwound.
Unit leaks steam from pressure relief valve
The pressure relief valve is a special low pressure valve and cannot be replaced by any other valve. If steam is leaking form the valve, the most likely cause is a blockage in the hose. Allow the hose to cool then remove the hose and check for any blockage. Always check the inlet in the tool you are using.

Under no circumstance force the valve shut. This is operating for your protection.
ENVIRONMENT

Faulty and/or discarded electrical or electronic apparatus have to be collected at the appropriate recycling locations.
