How to install the EHEIM thermopreset 100 heater?

Attach the device under the water surface, on the inside wall of the aquarium, using the supplied suction cups. Observe the minimum water level (MIN mark). Place it in a strong water flow area for even heat distribution.

What is the set temperature of this heater?

The thermostat is fixed at 25°C ± 1°C. No adjustment is necessary.

How to know if the heater is heating?

The red LED lights up when the device is heating the water, i.e., when the water temperature is below 25°C ± 1°C.

What to do if the heater has run out of water?

Unplug the device immediately. Do not re-immerse it in water while it is hot. Let it cool on a heat-resistant surface for at least 1 hour. The thermal circuit breaker has normally shut it off.

What is the maximum immersion depth?

The device can be immersed up to 1.2 m maximum depth.

How to clean the heater?

Unplug the device and let it cool in water for 30 minutes. Remove it and clean it under running water. Do not use hard objects or harsh chemicals. Do not put in dishwasher.

What are the essential safety precautions?

Use a residual-current device (30 mA). Form a drip loop on the power cord. Never plug in the device out of water. After use, let it cool for 30 min in water before handling. Keep out of reach of children.

What to do in case of malfunction or damaged cable?

The power cord cannot be replaced. If damaged, the device must be discarded. Repairs must be carried out exclusively by an EHEIM service center.

What aquarium volume is suitable for the thermopreset 100?

This model is suitable for aquariums of 100 to 150 liters.

How to dispose of the device at end of life?

Application

The EHEIM thermopreset is an automatic underwater heater for aquariums. The thermostat is permanently set to 25^ ± 1^ .

The appliance and all parts included in the scope of delivery are intended for private use and must only be used:

for aquarium-related purposes
·indoors
in compliance with the technical data

The following limitations apply to the appliance:

• do not use for commercial or industrial purposes
• do not heat caustic, inflammable, aggressive or explosive sub -

stances, food or drinking water

• the water temperature may not exceed 35^ C
• never operate out of water

For your safety

• Do not let the appliance packaging and small parts get into the hands of children or people who are unaware of how to handle them, as hazards can arise (danger of suffocation!). Keep away from animals.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are under the supervision of someone responsible for their safety or have received instruction on usage of the appliance from said person.   After disconnection from the mains, the appliance must be left in the water for 30 minutes in order to cool down.
  A hot appliance must never be placed on heat-sensitive surfaces!
  The appliance must never be operated without a heater protector.
• Repairs must only be carried out by an EHEIM service centre.
• The mains cable of this appliance cannot be replaced. If the cable is damaged, the appliance must be scrapped.
  Only carry out the work described in these instructions.
• Never make technical modifications to the appliance.
• Only use original spare parts and accessories for the appliance.
• This appliance may not be operated with an additional timer or an additional control system.

We recommend protecting all electrical aquarium appliances via a residual current protective device with a rated residual current of 30mA maximum.
- If they are not being used, always disconnect all devices in the aquarium from the power supply before you install/remove any parts and before all cleaning and maintenance work.

• Protect the mains socket and mains plug against moisture and wetness. A drip loop must be formed with the mains cable. This prevents any water running along the cable to the mains socket, which would result in a short-circuit.
  The electrical data of the appliance must match the data of the power mains. This data is found on the type plate, the packaging and in these instructions.
  The appliance has an immersion depth of max. 1.2 m.

• Danger of burning! The appliance is very hot during and directly after operation. Never touch hot parts or the heating zone!

Commissioning

Installing the suction cup (A)

1. Push the suction cup ① into the suction cup holder ②
2. Attach the suction cup holder to the heater.
3. Rotate the suction cup ③ in the corresponding opening in the heater.

Hint: Moisten the suction cups with water for easier installation.

Installing the heater (B)

1. Attach the appliance below water level on the inside of your aquarium. Take the minimum water level into account.

• The heater must be flushed well in order to guarantee consistent water heating. Therefore, place the heater in an area with a strong flow.
• Check the water temperature at regular intervals.
  In order to achieve a water temperature of 25^ ± 1^ , the ambient temperature must not fall below 18^ .

Operation

Switching the heater on/off

1. Insert the mains plug in the mains socket. The red LED ④ illuminates when the heater heats the water (water temperature below 25^ ± 1^ ).
2. To turn it off, remove the mains plug from the mains socket.

Before you remove the heater

WARNING! Burning and fire hazards due to hot surfaces.

• Allow the appliance to cool down in the water for at least 30 minutes before removing it.

If you have accidentally removed the heater during operation:

• Do not submerge the heater back into the water.
  Do not touch any hot surfaces.
• Remove the mains plug and allow the heater to cool down for at least one hour on a heat-resistant base.

Thermal circuit breaker

The heater is equipped with a thermal circuit breaker as protection against overheating and any associated fire hazards. In the event of the heater being accidentally operated outside the water or when the water level is too low, it will be switched off. The heater will switch back on automatically after cooling down.

Maintenance

• Allow the appliance to cool down in the water for at least 30 minutes before removing it.

Do not use hard objects or aggressive cleaning agents for cleaning.
The appliance is not dishwasher-safe! Do not clean the appliance in the dishwasher.

Cleaning

1. Disconnect the heater from the power supply.
2. Allow the appliance to cool down in the water for at least 30 minutes.
3. Take the appliance out of the aquarium.
4. Clean the heater under running water.

Decommissioning and disposal

Disposal

When disposing of the appliance, pay attention to the relevant statutory regulations. Information on the disposal of electrical and electronic appliances in the European Union: Within the European Union, disposal of electrically operated appliances is governed by national regulations that are based on the EU Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
