Initial operation

  • Open the base station battery compartment cover
  • Insert 2 x AA batteries with correct polarity ("+" and "-" marks). Close the battery compartment cover.
  • When you insert the batteries, all icons on the LCD will light up for 3 seconds, and you will hear a beep tone, then indoor temperature will appear.
  • The base station will start to make a connection to the outdoor sensor. This operation takes about 3 minutes and will display by a flashing reception RF antenna symbol in the "OUTDOOR" display area on the receiver.
  • Open the outdoor sensor battery compartment cover and insert 2 x AA batteries with correct polarity ("+" and "-" marks). Close the battery compartment cover.
    • After the station has created a connection to the outdoor sensor, it will enter the DCF77 time reception mode 3 minutes later.

Reception of the radio controlled time signal (DCF77)

• The weather station will enter radio controlled time mode after receiving outdoor temperature for 3 minutes.
- At 1:00 /2:00 / 3:00 AM every day, the clock automatically carries out the synchronization procedure with the DCF77 signal to correct any deviations to the exact time. If this synchronization attempt is unsuccessful, the radio mast icon disappears from the display, the system will automatically attempt another synchronization at the next full one hour. This procedure is repeated automatically up to total 5 times.
- To manually start the DCF77 signal reception, press and hold the B3 button for 3 seconds. If no signals is received within 7 minutes, then the DCF77 signal search stops and start again at the next full one hour.
• To stop the signal search during DCF77 reception, press the B3 button once.

Notes:

• A flashing radio mast icon indicates that the DCF signal reception has started
• A continuously displayed radio mast icon indicates that the DCF signal was received successfully
• We recommend a minimum distance of 2.5 meters to all sources of interference, such as televisions or computer monitors
- Radio reception is weaker in rooms with concrete walls (e.g.: in cellars) and in offices. In such circumstances, place the system close to the window.
- During the DCF77 reception mode, only the B3 button is functional, other buttons are not functional. If you want to carry out other functions of operation, please press the B3 button to exit the DCF77 reception mode.

Manual time setting

  • Press and hold the B5 button SET for 3 seconds, the "ON/OFF" display starts to flash. Now use "▲" or "▼" buttons to set the radio control function ON or OFF.
  • Press the SET button to confirm the item has been set and go to the next one, the sequence of setting items is as follows:

RCC ON/OFF → TIME format(12/24HR) → ZONE(-12\~12) → HOUR → MINUTE → DATE format(D/M or M/D) → YEAR → MONTH →

DATE → Language of week → Unit of temperature(°C/°F) → Pattern of weather → Complete setup and exit the setting mode

  • When adjusting the value, you can add or subtract 1 by pressing ▲ or ▼ button once, and quickly add or subtract by pressing and hold it.
  • Weekday language settings are shown in the table below:

• If there is no valid operation within 20 seconds, it will automatically return to normal time mode from the set mode.

Setting the daily alarms

  • Press B3 button once, LCD display the icon 🔒, the alarm function is ON, then press once 🔒 button, the icon 🔒 will disappears from the LCD, the alarm function is OFF.
  • Press the SET button once and the LCD displays "6:30AL" (alarm time), then press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds until hour of the alarm time starts to flash. Use the "▲" or "▼" buttons to set the required hour.
  • Press SET button to confirm your setting, and the minute of the alarm time starts to flash. Use the “▲” or “▼” button to set the required minute.
  • Press SET button to confirm your setting, the snooze time of the alarm starts to flash. Use the “▲” or “▼” button to set the duration of snooze time.
  • Press SET button to confirm your setting and to end the setting procedure.
  • When adjusting the value, press and hold the “▲” or “▼” button to adjust continuously and quickly

Notes:

• If there is no valid operation within 20 seconds, it will automatically return to normal time mode from the alarm time set mode.
- The alarm will sound for 2 minutes if you do not deactivate it by pressing any button. In this case the alarm will be repeated automatically after 24 hours.
- When the alarm time is reached, a gradual beep sound will be emitted.

Switching off the alarm signal

While the alarm was sounding, press any buttons except the B2 _z to stop the alarm signal. It is not necessary to reactivate the alarm. The clock switches itself automatically to the alarm time which has already been set.

Outdoor sensor reception

• The weather station automatically starts receiving transmission from remote sensor for outdoor temperature after batteries inserted.
• The remote sensor will automatically transmit temperature signal to the base station after batteries inserted.
- If the base station failed to receive transmission from remote sensor ("--.-"display on the LCD), press and hold B4 button for 3 seconds to receive transmission manually. RF icon flashes on the LCD, the base station to receive the remote sensor.

Maximum/minimum temperature

  • The weather station records maximum and minimum temperature values.
  • Press the B1 button once to display the maximum values of temperature with MAX symbol. Press the B1 again to display the minimum values of temperature with MIN symbol.
  • Press and hold the MEM button for 3 seconds to reset the MIN/MAX values to current temperature.
  • The MIN/MAX values automatically reset daily at 0:00.

Note:

• If the temperature reading is below ranges, LL.L will be displayed. If the temperature reading is above ranges, HH.H will be displayed.

Ice alert

The ice alert symbol appears and flashing when the outdoor temperature is between -1.0 \~ +2.9°C or +30.2°F \~ +37.3°F.

Weather forecasting function

  • The weather forecast is calculated from evaluation of fluctuations in the barometric pressure and may deviate from the actual weather conditions.
    • The weather symbols indicate the weather fluctuation over the next 8 hours and not the current weather.
  • The weather station displays the following weather symbols:

Environmental reception effects

The clock obtains the accurate time with wireless technology. Same as all wireless devices, the reception is maybe affected by the following circumstances:

  • long transmitting distance
    • nearby mountains and valleys
  • near freeway, railway, airports, high voltage cable etc.

  • near construction site

  • among tall buildings
    • inside concrete buildings
    • near electrical appliances (computers, TV's, etc) and metallic structures
    • inside moving vehicles

Place the clock at a location with optimal signal, i.e. close to a window and away from metal surfaces or electrical appliances.

Precautions

  • This unit is intended to be used only indoors.
  • Do not subject the unit to excessive force or shock.
  • Do not expose the unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, dust or humidity.
  • Do not immerse in water.
  • Avoid contact with any corrosive materials.
