The user bears sole responsibility for any damage caused by improper use. Generally accepted accident prevention regulations and the enclosed safety information must be observed. Never use the hot air gun for drying your hair! Always wear goggles and work- gloves! Pay attention when using the hot- air fan near flammable materials. The device must not be used if explosive gases are present. This device can be used by children from 8 years of age and, in addition, by persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental ability or lack of experience or knowledge if they are supervised or have received induction training on the use of the device and understand the associated risks. Children may not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by children unless supervised. Risk of burns: Never touch the hot outlet tube. direct at the same point for long periods. Heat can be directed to concealed combustible materials. Never direct the hot air gun at highly flammable materials! Fires can be caused if the hot air gun is not used with great care. Never leave the tool unattended when it is running. After long periods of use at maximum temperature, the temperature should be lowered before the tool is switched off. This lengthens the service life of the heater. Place the tool on the bases provided following use and wait until it has cooled down before placing in storage! Store your tools in a safe place. Unused tools should be stored in a dry, locked room inaccessible to children. Always take care where there are toxic gases and a risk of explosion. Toxic can be created when working on plastics, paints and similar materials. Risk of fire and combustion! Only use the hot air gun in well- ventilated rooms! Never inhale the vapours created! For your own safety, only use accessories and auxiliary devices specified in the Operating Instructions or recommended or specified by the tool manufacturer. The use tools or accessories other than those recommended in the Operating Instructions or in the catalogue can result in a risk of injury. Remove the battery pack from the machine before making any adjustments, changing tools, maintaining or cleaning. Make sure that the tool is switched off before fitting the battery pack. Hold the machine when removing and inserting the battery pack so that the on/off switch cannot be unintentionally pressed. If the machine is defective, remove the battery pack from the machine. Protect battery packs from water and moisture! Do not expose battery packs to fire! Do not use faulty or deformed battery packs! Do not open battery packs! Do not touch or short circuit battery pack contacts! A slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from defective Li-ion battery packs! If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your eyes, wash them with clean water and seek medical attention immediately!ENGLISH en

Transport of li-ion battery packs: The shipping of li-ion battery pack is subject to laws related to the carriage of hazardous goods (UN 3480 and UN 3481). Inform yourself of the currently valid specifications when shipping li-ion battery packs. If necessary, consult your freight forwarder. Certified packaging is available from Metabo. Only send the battery pack if the housing is intact and no fluid is leaking. Remove the battery pack from the machine for sending. Prevent the contacts from short- circuiting (e.g. by protecting them with adhesive tape). Li-Ion battery packs "Li-Power, LiHD" have a capacity and signal indicator (8): - Press the button (9), the LEDs indicate the charge level. - If one LED is flashing, the battery pack is almost flat and must be recharged. Removing and inserting the battery pack Removal: Press the battery pack release (11) button and pull the battery pack (12) forwards

Inserting: Slide in the battery pack (12) until it engages. The distance to the object being processed depends on the material and intended processing type. Always first carry out an inspection of air volume and temperature! The attachable nozzles (see chapter 11.) available as accessories can be used for precise hot air control to a specific point or a surface. Take care when changing hot nozzles! Danger of burns. The sliding switch (5) can be used to switch the tool on and off and with the button (10) you can select between 2 temperature stages. LED lights up. Stage 1: 300 °C, 200 l/min Stage 2: 500 °C, 160 l/min Remove the battery pack from the device to transport the device. The air inlet (4) must be free of foreign bodies. Clean the air inlet (4) if necessary. LED flashes if the battery pack performance is too low (battery pack not suited or not charged) The thermal fuse switches the tool off completely in the event of overloading. See Section 12.
