1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children between 3 and 8 years of age and persons with very extensive and complex disabilities shall be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Children of less than 3 years of age should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Do not let children play with the appliance.
  • Keep all packaging away from children and dispose of it appropriately.
  • Keep children and pets away from the appliance when it operates.
  • Children shall not carry out cleaning and user maintenance of the appliance without supervision.

1.2 General Safety

  • This appliance is intended for domestic use above hobs, cookers and similar cooking devices.
  • Before carrying out any maintenance, disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
  • CAUTION: Accessible parts may become hot during use with cooking appliances.
  • Use only the fixing screws supplied with the appliance if not supplied, use the screws recommended in the installation instructions.
  • Do not use adhesives to fix the appliance.
  • The minimum distance between the hob surface on which the pans stand and the lower part of the appliance shall be at least 65 cm, unless otherwise specified in the installation instructions. If the hob installation instructions specify a greater distance, it must be taken into account.
  • The discharge of air must comply with local authorities regulations.
  • Ensure good air ventilation in the room where the appliance is installed to avoid the backflow of unwanted gases into the room from appliances burning gas or other fuels, including open fires.
  • Make sure that the ventilation openings are not blocked and the air collected by the appliance is not conveyed into a duct used to exhaust smoke and steam from other appliances (central heating systems, thermosiphons, water-heaters, etc.).
  • When the appliance operates with other appliances the maximum vacuum generated in the room should not exceed 0.04 mbar.
  • Make sure not to cause damage to the mains cable. Contact our Authorised Service Centre or an electrician to change a damaged mains cable.
  • If the appliance is connected directly to the power supply, the electrical installation must be equipped with an isolating device that allows to disconnect the appliance from the mains at all poles. Complete disconnection must comply with conditions specified in the overvoltage category III. The means for disconnection must be incorporated in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.
  • Do not flambé under the appliance.
  • Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapours.
  • Clean the appliance regularly to prevent the deterioration of the surface material
  • Clean the appliance with a soft cloth regularly.
  • Do not use a steam cleaner, water spray, harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the surface of the appliance. Use only neutral detergents.
  • Clean grease filters regularly (at least every 2 months) and remove grease deposits from the appliance to prevent the risk of fire.
  • Use a cloth or brush to clean the interior of the appliance.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 Installation

WARNING! Risk of injury, electric shock, fire, burns or damage to the appliance.

Only a qualified person must install this appliance. Do not install or use a damaged appliance. Follow the installation instructions supplied with the appliance. Always take care when moving the appliance as it is heavy. Always use safety gloves and enclosed footwear. Before installing the appliance, remove all the packaging, the labelling and the protective film. Do not install the exhaust air into a wall cavity, unless the cavity is designed for that purpose.

2.2 Electrical connection

WARNING! Risk of fire and electric shock.

All electrical connections should be made by a qualified electrician.

  • Make sure that the parameters on the rating plate are compatible with the electrical ratings of the mains power supply.
  • If the symbol (□) is not printed on the rating plate, the appliance must be earthed. Always use a correctly installed shockproof socket.
  • Do not let the electricity mains cable tangle.
  • Do not use multi-plug adapters and extension cables.
  • If the mains socket is loose, do not connect the mains plug.
  • Do not pull the mains cable to disconnect the appliance. Always pull the mains plug.
  • The shock protection of live and insulated parts must be fastened in such a way that it cannot be removed without tools.
  • Make sure the appliance is installed correctly. Loose and incorrect electricity mains cable can make the terminal become too hot.
  • Connect the appliance at the end of the installation. Make sure that there is access to the mains after the installation.

2.3 Use

2.4 Service

2.5 Disposal

  • Contact your municipal authority for information on how to discard the appliance correctly.
  • Disconnect the appliance from the mains supply.

3. MAINTENANCE

Clean grease filters in relation to use, at least every 2 months to prevent the risk of fire.

Hand wash or clean in a dishwasher using a neutral detergent. If washing in the dishwasher, possible discoloration of the filters does not in any way compromise their functioning.

The activated charcoal filter is not washable and cannot be regenerated, and must be replaced approximately every 4 months of operation, or more frequently for particularly heavy usage.

1.2 GENERAL SAFETY RULES

  • If the cooker hood is used simultaneously with appliances operating on gas or other fuels, the room must have adequate ventilation. Regularly clean the hood both inside and outside (at least once a month). Cleaning must be carried out in accordance with the maintenance instructions given in this manual. Failure to follow the instructions for cleaning the hood, as well as cleaning and replacing filters, may lead to fire.
  • Avoid open flames, as they can damage the filters and lead to fires. The hood must be installed under supervision to avoid the risk of oil fires.
  • The appliance is intended for household use. Before any cleaning or maintenance operations,

Disconnect the appliance from the power supply by pulling the plug out of the socket or disconnecting the main power source.

Warning! When the hob is operating, accessible parts of the extractor may become hot. - Only use the fixing screws supplied with the appliance; if they are not provided, use the screws recommended in the installation instructions. Do not use glue to fix the appliance. The minimum distance between the hob and the lower part of the extractor must be 65 cm, unless otherwise specified in the installation instructions. If the installation instructions specify a greater distance, this must be taken into account. - As for technical measures and safety conditions for flue gas evacuation, strictly follow the rules in force in your place of residence. - Make sure that the ventilation openings are not blocked and that the air expelled by the appliance is not discharged into a pipe used for evacuating fumes from other devices (central heating system, thermosiphons, water heaters, etc.). Be careful not to damage the power cord. To replace a damaged power cord, contact an authorized service center or a qualified electrician. - If the extractor is not fitted with a plug (direct connection to the mains) or if the socket is not accessible after installation, use an approved two-pole switch that ensures complete disconnection from the mains under overvoltage category III, in accordance with the installation instructions. - It is strictly forbidden to cook with an open flame under the extractor. Do not use the appliance to extract vapors of dangerous or explosive substances. The extractor should be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth to prevent damage to the surface material. Do not use abrasive cleaners, water spray, abrasive cleaning agents, or sharp metal

scrapers to clean the surface of the appliance. Use only neutral detergents. Do not use or leave the extractor without correctly installed lamps, due to the possible risk of electric shock. We disclaim all liability for malfunctions, damage, or fire of the appliance resulting from failure to follow the instructions given in this manual.

  • Clean the grease filters regularly (at least once a month).
  • To clean the inside of the extractor, use a cloth or a brush.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 Installation

  • Installation of the appliance must be carried out only by qualified personnel. Do not install or use a damaged appliance. Follow the installation instructions supplied with the appliance.
  • Due to the large mass of the appliance, always be careful when moving it. Always use protective gloves and keep the appliance closed and stable.
  • Before installing the device, remove all packaging and the protective film. Do not allow air to escape through the wall opening if the opening is not intended for this purpose.

2.2 Electrical connection

and fully insulated socket.

Do not leave the power plug exposed. Do not use multi-socket adapters or extension cords. - If the socket is loose, do not connect the device to it. Do not disconnect the device by pulling on the power cord. Always pull on the plug. Protection against electric shock of live parts must be installed in such a way that it cannot be removed without tools. - Make sure that the device is installed correctly. An incorrectly connected power cord can lead to contact breakage. Connect the device only after installation is complete. Make sure that the power supply is connected after installation.

2.3 Use

  • The device is intended solely for the removal of smoke and steam generated during cooking. Do not use the extractor for any other purposes. Do not make any modifications to the device. Do not touch the device with wet hands and do not switch it on if it has come into contact with water.
  • Use only accessories supplied with the device. During cooking, frying, and oil heating, do not let them come into contact with the appliance or other objects. Do not place any

objects on the extractor.

Do not look directly at the light source.

2.4 Service

Before installing the device, please contact an authorized service center. Use only original spare parts.

2.5 Cleaning

Attention! Before disposing of the appliance, please contact the regional waste management operator or local authorities for information on proper disposal, including separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply. Cut the power cord close to the appliance body and dispose of it.

3. (i) Maintenance

Warning! Before performing any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply by removing the plug from the socket or switching off the circuit breaker. The appliance should be cleaned regularly both inside and outside (at least as often as the grease filter is cleaned). For cleaning, use a soft cloth dampened with a neutral liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive materials. Do not use alcohol! Warning! Failure to follow the cleaning instructions and filter replacement may lead to a fire risk. Therefore, it is recommended to follow the instructions provided.

The grease filter should be cleaned (washed) monthly with neutral detergents, either by hand or in a dishwasher at low temperature and with a short cycle. When washing in a dishwasher, some discoloration of the grease filter may occur, but its filtering characteristics remain absolutely unchanged.

Charcoal filter.

The saturation of the charcoal filter occurs after a longer or shorter period of operation, depending on the type of cooking and the frequency of grease filter cleaning. In any case, replace the filter at least every 4 months. The charcoal filter cannot be washed or restored for reuse.
