How to clean the anti-grease filter?
The metal anti-grease filter must be cleaned once a month. You can wash it by hand with a mild detergent or in the dishwasher at low temperature with a quick cycle. Discoloration may occur but does not affect filtering.
How often should the charcoal filter be replaced?
The activated charcoal filter (only in recirculation version) must be replaced at most every 4 months. It cannot be cleaned or regenerated.
Can I use the hood without a charcoal filter?
Yes, if the hood is installed in external evacuation version, the charcoal filter is not necessary and should even be removed. It is only useful in recirculation mode (air returned to the room).
How to install the hood in extraction or recirculation mode?
In extraction mode, connect the hood to an external duct (not supplied) with a diameter equal to the flange. In recirculation mode, install a charcoal filter (available from your dealer); the air will be degreased and deodorized before being expelled through the upper grille.
What to do if the hood does not turn on?
First check that the hood is plugged in and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Make sure the plug is accessible. If the problem persists, contact technical support.
Are the LED bulbs replaceable?
Yes, but replacement must be carried out by a professional. Contact technical support to obtain original parts.

USE

The aspirator is intended for exhausting and discharging air from the room, simultaneously with the operation of the cooker hood.

GORENJE BHP623E11W - USE - 1

ASPIRATOR VERSION

The air discharge is carried out through an air duct connected to the flue of the cooker hood.

The diameter of the air duct must correspond to the diameter of the flue of the cooker hood.

Attention! The air duct is not included in the accessories and must be purchased separately.

In the horizontal part, the duct must be slightly inclined upwards (about 10°) to facilitate the discharge of air.

If the aspirator is equipped with a carbon filter, the ducts must be removed.

Connect the aspirator to the air duct and the opening in the wall. The diameter of the duct must correspond to the diameter of the flue of the cooker hood for air discharge.

Connecting to an air duct with a smaller diameter reduces the aspiration capacity and significantly increases the noise during operation.

In this case, the manufacturer assumes no responsibility.

Use ducts with the necessary length. Use ducts with as few bends as possible (maximum number of bends: 90°). Do not sharply reduce the cross-section of the duct! Use ducts with as smooth an inner surface as possible. The materials from which the ducts are made must comply with the standards in force.

The aspirated air is filtered and returned to the room. To use the aspirator in this mode of operation, you must install an additional filtration system at the base of the active carbon filter.

INSTALLATION

The minimum distance between the surface on which the cooking appliances are placed and the lowest part of the kitchen aspirator must be no less than 50 cm in the case of an electric hob and no less than 65 cm in the case of a gas or combined hob.

If the instructions for the gas cooking appliance specify a greater distance, then this must be taken into account.

This appliance has been tested and approved. The manufacturer declines any liability for damage, malfunctions, injuries, or fires caused by failure to follow these instructions. The extractor hood is intended solely for extracting vapors, smoke, and odors produced during cooking and is designed for domestic use only.

DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!

The product is designed, tested, and manufactured in accordance with:

  • Safety: EN/IEC 60335-1; EN/IEC 60335-2-31, EN/IEC 62233.
  • Performance: EN/IEC 61591; ISO 5167-1; ISO 5167-3; ISO 5168; EN/IEC 60704-1; EN/IEC 60704-2-13; ISO 3741; EN 50564; IEC 62301. EMC: EN 55014-1; CISPR 14-1; EN 55014-2; CISPR 14-2; EN/IEC 61000-3-2; EN/IEC 61000-3-3.

For proper operation and to reduce environmental impact: Turn on the hood at minimum speed before starting cooking, and let it run for a few minutes after cooking is finished. Increase the speed only in case of large amounts of smoke and steam, and use the boost function only in extreme cases.

To maintain efficient removal of odors, replace the charcoal filter(s) as needed. To maintain high efficiency of the grease filter, clean the grease filter(s) as needed.

Use the maximum diameter of the air exhaust system as indicated in the instructions for optimal efficiency and minimal noise.

WARNING! Missing installation screws or fastening details in accordance with the instructions may lead to risk of electric shock.

USAGE

The hood is designed for use in recirculation mode, with the air being drawn in through the top or in the filtering mode with air recirculation.

GORENJE BHP623E11W - USAGE - 1

EXTRACTION MODE

The air is extracted through the exhaust pipe connected to the flange.

The diameter of the exhaust pipe must match the diameter of the exhaust outlet.

The exhaust pipe must not be installed in such a way that it is necessary to use an elbow.

The horizontal section of the exhaust pipe must have a slight slope (with an angle of about 10°) so that condensate can be drained outside.

If the exhaust hood has carbon filters, they must be removed.

Connect the hood to the flue gas exhaust pipe and to the exhaust opening with the appropriate diameter of the air outlet (connecting the flange).

Using narrower exhaust pipes and openings with a smaller diameter will lead to a reduction in the efficiency of the hood and an increase in the noise level.

Therefore, we disclaim any responsibility for the above.

Use only short exhaust ducts.

Use an exhaust duct with the minimum number of bends (maximum bend angle: 90°). Avoid sudden changes in the cross-section of the duct. Use a duct with a smooth inner surface. The duct material must comply with the standards.

GORENJE BHP623E11W - EXTRACTION MODE - 1

RECIRCULATION MODE

The air is cleaned by the filter and then returned to the room. To use the hood in this mode, it is necessary to install a carbon filter system.

INSTALLATION

The distance from the lower part of the hood to the hob must be at least 50 cm for electric hobs, and 65 cm for gas and combination hobs.

It is necessary to take into account the distances specified in the installation instructions for the hob.

GORENJE BHP623E11W - INSTALLATION - 1

CONNECTION TO THE ELECTRICAL MAINS

The voltage in the electrical mains must correspond to the characteristics indicated on the label located inside the hood. If the plug for connecting to the electrical mains is included in the kit, then it must be connected to a socket that complies with the existing standards and is located in an accessible place, so that it can be done after installation. If the plug is not included in the kit (for direct connection to the electrical mains), or the socket is not in an accessible place, then after installation it is necessary to install a suitable two-pole switch that ensures complete disconnection from the mains under conditions of overvoltage category III, in full compliance with the installation rules.

The hood must be connected to the electrical mains and the correctness of operation checked, with control of the hood's operation after installation.

The hood's power cord has a special grounding conductor; in case of damage to the cord, contact the technical service.

INSTALLATION

The product is heavy, so its movement and installation must be carried out by at least two people.

Before starting installation:

  • Check the dimensions of the product against the chosen installation location. Remove the charcoal filter if it is present (see also the relevant section). The charcoal filter will be reinstalled if you wish to use the hood in recirculation mode.
  • Check that the inside of the hood is free of objects, possibly placed there during transport (packaging, magazines, warranty cards, etc.), and if so, remove and keep them. If possible, remove and retract the power cord, and mark the installation area to ensure easier access to the wall/ceiling where the hood will be attached. If this is not possible, protect the furniture and other surfaces during installation. Choose a flat surface, preferably with protective covering, and place the hood and its parts on it. Also check that in the installation area of the hood (in the zone, accessible also after hood installation) there is a mains socket and an exhaust duct opening, if you are venting outdoors (only in exhaust mode). Perform all necessary works (e.g., installing the mains socket and/or making the exhaust duct opening).

The kit includes screws for fixing, designed for most wall/ceiling types. However, it is necessary to consult a qualified technician to check the suitability of materials depending on the type of wall/ceiling. The wall/ceiling must be sufficiently strong to support the weight of the hood.

OPERATION

Use intensive speed in case of particularly high concentration of cooking vapors. We recommend turning on the hood 5 minutes before starting to cook and leaving it on for 15 minutes after finishing cooking.

GORENJE BHP623E11W - OPERATION - 1

  1. ON/OFF button.

When the hood is off, pressing button II turns it on.

  1. 2,3 Speed increase.

Pressing the button switches the hood from OFF state to operating mode at speed 1.

Pressing the button (hood in ON state) increases the speed of the fan from 1 to higher levels.

Filter

Warning! Before any operation on the appliance, disconnect it from the power supply by pulling out the plug or switching off the circuit breaker.

CLEANING

The appliance should be cleaned regularly and thoroughly (at least every 3 months, or more often if the grease filter is heavily soiled). For cleaning, use a special cloth, a soft sponge, or a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive materials. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!

Warning: Failure to follow the cleaning and filter maintenance instructions may result in a fire hazard. Therefore, we recommend following the instructions provided.

The manufacturer declines all liability for damage or injuries resulting from improper repair or failure to follow the above precautions.

GREASE FILTER

Retains grease particles that arise during cooking.

The filter should be cleaned regularly with mild detergents, by hand or in a dishwasher at low temperatures and with a short cycle. When washing the metal grease filter in a dishwasher, it may lose its color, but its filtering characteristics will not change.

CARBON FILTER (recirculation mode)

The kitchen has a specific smell.

Checking the filter for contamination is carried out after each period of use of the kitchen hood and the regularity of cleaning the filter. In any case, it is necessary to replace the maximum cartridge every four months. This is not a complete replacement.

REPLACING THE LAMP

The hood is equipped with an LED lighting system.

LED lamps provide optimal lighting, their lifespan is 10 times longer than conventional bulbs and they provide 90% energy savings.
