How to turn on the Beurer HT 53 curling iron?

Press the ON/OFF button [3]. The operation indicator [8] flashes until the operating temperature is reached (approx. 200 °C). Once ready, the indicator stays on continuously.

What temperature does the curling iron reach?

The curling iron heats to a fixed temperature of approx. 200 °C, optimal for curling hair.

How long does it take for the iron to heat up?

After switching on, the iron reaches operating temperature in a few minutes. The indicator light changes from flashing to steady when ready.

Can I use the curling iron on wet hair?

No, hair must be completely dry before use. Using on wet hair poses a risk of electric shock and burns.

Does the curling iron turn off automatically?

Yes, after 30 minutes of use, the device shuts off automatically. The indicator flashes 5 minutes before shutdown.

How to clean the curling iron?

Unplug the device and let it cool down. Clean with a soft cloth and a little warm water. Do not use abrasive products or flammable liquids.

• This device may be used by children over the age of eight and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental skills or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the device safely and are fully aware of the consequent risks of use.
  Children must not play with the device.
• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless supervised.
• If the mains connection cable of this device is damaged, it must be disposed of. If it cannot be removed, the device must be disposed of.
• When using the device in the bathroom, unplug the plug after use as water in the vicinity constitutes a danger, even when the device is switched off.

• Never use the device near baths, wash basins, showers or other objects containing water or other liquids - risk of electric shock!

Getting to know your device

You can use the curling tongs to shape tight curls in your hair.

The 360^ swivel joint on the mains cable enables flexible handling of the curling tongs.

A short heat-up phase means that the curling tongs are ready for use after only a few minutes.

The ceramic keratin coating of the heating rod ensures even heat distribution and a smooth surface structure. The keratin also helps to protect and care for your hair. The curling tongs therefore allow you to style your hair gently.

The stand enables safe switch-off of the curling tongs even when in a heated state.

The device is only intended for the purpose described in these instructions for use.

The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from improper or careless use.

6. Initial use

Warning

• Position yourself on a dry, non-conductive surface. Risk of electric shock!
• Make sure that your hands are dry! Risk of electric shock!
• Your hair must be dry! Risk of electric shock!
  The device can become very hot. When the device is hot, it must only be held using the handle [4] - risk of burns and fire!
• Never touch the conical heating rod [2]. Risk of burns!
• Switch the device off immediately if it is faulty or not working properly.
• Place the curling tongs with the stand [9] on a stable, level and non-flammable surface or hold the curling tongs in your hand. Risk of fire!

Important

• Untangle the mains cable [7] if it is twisted.
• Do not pull, twist or bend the mains cable [7] and do not pull or route it over/on sharp, pointed objects or hot surfaces.
• Do not jam the mains cable [7] in drawers or doors, for example. Damaged or tangled mains cables increase the risk of electric shock!

7. Usage

Starting the application/creating curls

1. Fully dry your hair before using the curling tongs.
2. Hair should be clean and free from styling products.
3. Comb your hair with a large-toothed comb to get rid of any tangles.

4. Switch on the curling tongs by pressing the ON/OFF button [3]. The operating display [8] starts to flash and tells you that the curling tongs are on.

5. The curling tongs are supplied with a standard temperature setting of approx. 200^ . The operating display [8] flashes until the operating temperature has been reached. As soon as the curling tongs have reached the operating temperature, the operating display [8] permanently lights up red. The curling tongs are now ready for use.

6. Put on the heat-resistant glove.

7. Separate your hair into individual sections with a width of approx. 2 cm. Wind the hair sections around the curling tongs as shown. Hold the section of hair in place at the cool touch tip [1] using your hand with the heat-resistant glove. Never touch the conical heating rod of the curling tongs [2].
8. Leave the curling tongs in your hair for 8 to 10 seconds in order to achieve the desired curling effect.

Note

After 25 minutes of operation, the operating display [8] starts to flash. This is to show you that the curling tongs will automatically switch off in 5 minutes. The curling tongs switch off automatically

after 30 minutes of operation. Once switched off, the curling tongs are no longer heated and the operating display [8] goes out.

Press the On/Off button [3] twice to switch on the curling tongs again.

After use

1. Press the ON/OFF button [3]. This switches off the heating in the curling tongs.
2. When the operating display [8] goes out, this indicates that the curling tongs have been switched off.
3. To cool down, place the curling tongs with the stand [9] on a stable, level and non-flammable surface or hold the curling tongs in your hand. The stand [9] prevents the hot heating rod [2] from touching the surface.

4. After each use, pull the mains plug out of the socket.

5. Do not wind the mains cable [7] around the device!

6. Store the device in a dry place out of the reach of children.
7. The device can be hung on a hook using the hanging eyelet [6].

8. Cleaning and maintenance

• The device may be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with warm water.

9. Disposal

For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in the household waste at the end of its useful life.

Dispose of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling point in your country.

Please dispose of the device in accordance with EC Directive - WEEE

(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

11. Warranty / Service

Beurer GmbH, Söflinger Straße 218, 89077 Ulm, Germany (hereinafter referred to as "Beurer") provides a warranty for this product, subject to the requirements below and to the extent described as follows.

The warranty conditions below shall not affect the seller's statutory warranty obligations which ensue from the sales agreement with the buyer.

The warranty shall apply without prejudice to any mandatory statutory provisions on liability.

Beurer guarantees the perfect functionality and completeness of this product.

The worldwide warranty period is 3 years, commencing from the purchase of the new, unused product from the seller.

The warranty only applies to products purchased by the buyer as a consumer and used exclusively for personal purposes in the context of domestic use.

German law shall apply.

During the warranty period, should this product prove to be incomplete or defective in functionality in accordance with the following provisions, Beurer shall carry out a repair or a replacement delivery free of charge, in accordance with these warranty conditions.

If the buyer wishes to make a warranty claim, they should approach their local retailer in the first instance: see the attached "International Service" list of service addresses.

The buyer will then receive further information about the processing of the warranty claim, e.g. where they can send the product and what documentation is required.

A warranty claim shall only be considered if the buyer can provide Beurer, or an authorised Beurer partner, with

• a copy of the invoice/purchase receipt, and

• the original product.

The following are explicitly excluded from this warranty:

• deterioration due to normal use or consumption of the product;
• accessories supplied with this product which are worn out or used up through proper use (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries, cuffs, seals, electrodes, light sources, attachments and nebuliser accessories);
• products that are used, cleaned, stored or maintained improperly and/or contrary to the provisions of the instructions for use, as well as products that have been opened, repaired or modified by the buyer or by a service centre not authorised by Beurer;
• damage that arises during transport between manufacturer and customer, or between service centre and customer;
• products purchased as seconds or as used goods;
• consequential damage arising from a fault in this product (however, in this case, claims may exist arising from product liability or other compulsory statutory liability provisions).

Repairs or an exchange in full do not extend the warranty period under any circumstances.
