• The device is only intended for domestic/private use, not for commercial use.

• This device may be used by children over the age of eight and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental skills or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the device safely and are fully aware of the consequent risks of use.

• Children must not play with the device.

• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless supervised.

• If the mains connection cable of this device is damaged, it must be disposed of. If it cannot be removed, the device must be disposed of.

4. Warnings and safety notes

Warning To avoid damage to health, we strongly advise against using the device in the following situations:

• Never submerge the device in water or other liquids! Risk of electric shock!

• If the device should fall into water despite following all safety precautions, immediately pull the mains plug from the socket! Do not reach into the water! Risk of electric shock!

The device can become very hot. When the device is hot, it must only be held using the handle [4] – risk of burns and fire!

• Never touch the conical heating rod [2]. Risk of burns!

• Switch the device off immediately if it is faulty or not working properly.

• Place the curling tongs with the stand [9] on a stable, level and non-flammable surface or hold the curling tongs in your hand. Risk of fire! Important

• Untangle the mains cable [7] if it is twisted.

• Do not pull, twist or bend the mains cable [7] and do not pull or route it over/on sharp, pointed objects or hot surfaces.

• Do not jam the mains cable [7] in drawers or doors, for example. Damaged or tangled mains cables increase the risk of electric shock!

Starting the application/creating curls

1. Fully dry your hair before using the curling tongs.

2. Hair should be clean and free from styling products.

3. Comb your hair with a large-toothed comb to get rid of any tangles.

4. Switch on the curling tongs by pressing the ON/OFF button [3]. The operating display [8] starts to flash and tells you that the curling tongs are on.23

The curling tongs are supplied with a standard temperature setting of approx. 200 °C. The operating display [8] flashes until the operating temperature has been reached. As soon as the curling tongs have reached the operating temperature, the operating display [8] permanently lights up red. The curling tongs are now ready for use.

6. Put on the heat-resistant glove.

7. Separate your hair into individual sections with a width of approx.

2 cm. Wind the hair sections around the curling tongs as shown. Hold the section of hair in place at the cool touch tip [1] using your hand with the heat-resistant glove. Never touch the conical heating rod of the curling tongs [2].

8. Leave the curling tongs in your hair for 8 to 10 seconds in order to

achieve the desired curling effect. Note After 25 minutes of operation, the operating display [8] starts to flash. This is to show you that the curling tongs will automatically switch o in 5 minutes. The curling tongs switch o automatically after 30 minutes of operation. Once switched o, the curling tongs are no longer heated and the operating display [8] goes out. Press the On/Off button [3] twice to switch on the curling tongs again. After use

1. Press the ON/OFF button [3]. This switches off the heating in the curling tongs.

2. When the operating display [8] goes out, this indicates that the curling tongs have been switched off.

3. To cool down, place the curling tongs with the stand [9] on a stable, level and non-flammable surface or hold the curling tongs in your hand. The stand [9] prevents the hot heating rod [2] from touching the surface.

4. After each use, pull the mains plug out of the socket.24

5. Do not wind the mains cable [7] around the device!

6. Store the device in a dry place out of the reach of children.

7. The device can be hung on a hook using the hanging eyelet [6].

8. Cleaning and maintenance

• Always pull the mains plug out of the socket before cleaning the device. Risk of electric shock!

• Ensure that no water gets inside the device! Risk of electric shock!

• Do not clean the device with highly flammable liquids! Risk of fire! Notes

• Your device is maintenance-free.

• Protect the device from dust, dirt and humidity.

• Do not clean the device in the dishwasher.

• Do not use any aggressive, caustic, abrasive or corrosive cleaning products or hard brushes.

• The device may be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with warm water.

For environmental reasons, do not dispose of the device in the household waste at the end of its useful life. Dispose of the device at a suitable local collection or recycling point in your country. Please dispose of the device in accordance with EC Directive – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). If you have any questions, please contact the local authorities responsible for waste disposal.25

11. Warranty / Service

Beurer GmbH, Söflinger Straße 218, 89077 Ulm, Germany (hereinafter referred to as “Beurer”) provides a warranty for this product, subject to the requirements below and to the extent described as follows. The warranty conditions below shall not aect the seller’s statutory warranty obligations which ensue from the sales agreement with the buyer. The warranty shall apply without prejudice to any mandatory statutory provisions on liability. Beurer guarantees the perfect functionality and completeness of this product. The worldwide warranty period is 3 years, commencing from the purchase of the new, unused product from the seller. The warranty only applies to products purchased by the buyer as a consumer and used exclusively for personal purposes in the context of domestic use. German law shall apply.26 During the warranty period, should this product prove to be incomplete or defective in functionality in accordance with the following provisions, Beurer shall carry out a repair or a replacement delivery free of charge, in accordance with these warranty conditions. If the buyer wishes to make a warranty claim, they should approach their local retailer in the first instance: see the attached “International Service” list of service addresses. The buyer will then receive further information about the processing of the warranty claim, e.g. where they can send the product and what documentation is required. A warranty claim shall only be considered if the buyer can provide Beurer, or an authorised Beurer partner, with - a copy of the invoice/purchase receipt, and - the original product. The following are explicitly excluded from this warranty: - deterioration due to normal use or consumption of the product; - accessories supplied with this product which are worn out or used up through proper use (e.g. batteries, recharge

able batteries, cus, seals, electrodes, light sources, attachments and nebuliser accessories); - products that are used, cleaned, stored or maintained improperly and/or contrary to the provisions of the instruc- tions for use, as well as products that have been opened, repaired or modified by the buyer or by a service centre not authorised by Beurer; - damage that arises during transport between manufacturer and customer, or between service centre and custo- mer; - products purchased as seconds or as used goods; - consequential damage arising from a fault in this product (however, in this case, claims may exist arising from product liability or other compulsory statutory liability provisions).
