Electrical safety:

Caution: to avoid accidents and injuries from electric shocks:
- The equipment is not to be operated if there are people in the water. There is a risk of electric shock.
- After erection, the mains plug must be freely accessible when the equipment is in operation.
-
Before operating your new pump, have a specialist check:
-
The earthing, the protective multiple earthing; the residual current circuit breaking must be compliant with the safety regulations of the energy supply company and function without fault,
-
The protection of the electrical plug connections from the wet.
-
If there is a risk of flooding, fix the plug connections in an area that is safe from flooding.
-
Ensure that the mains voltage matches the specifications on the rating plate.
The electrical installation shall be according to national wiring rules. - Connect the appliance to a power socket with a residual current circuit breaker of rated residual current no more than 30mA ; minimum fuse 6 amperes.
- Before each use, check the equipment, cable and plug for damage. Defective cables are not to be repaired, but rather replaced by new ones. Have damage on your equipment repaired by an authorised specialist.
- If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a customer service agent of the same or a similarly qualified person in order to prevent hazards. The line must be minimum 10 m long.
- Do not pull the plug from the socket by the cable. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.
- Do not carry or fix the equipment by the cable.
-
Use only extension cables that are protected from spray water and designed for outdoor use. Always fully unroll a cable drum before use. Check the cable for damage. The flexible lead cross-section of the extension cord must at least 2.5mm^2
-
Disconnect the mains plug from the socket before all work on the equipment, in case of leaks in the water system, during work breaks, and when not in use.
Initial Operation
Positioning/Hanging
- The dimensions of the pump shaft must be not less than 40 × 40 × 50 cm , in order that the float switch (7) can move freely.
- The pump can be suspended by the round handle ( 1 ) or placed on the shaft floor.
The pump can be suspended and/or removed using the nylon cord (11) provided. Never suspend the pump by the hose.

Ensure that the equipment is not hung up or held by the mains cable. There is a risk of electric shock from damaged mains cables.

Note that, over time, dirt and sand may collect on the bottom of the shaft, which could damage the pump.
We recommend standing the pump on a brick.
If the water level is too low, the silt in the shaft can quickly dry out and impede the pump when warming up.
Mains Connection
The pump you have purchases is already fitted with an earthed plug. The equipment
is designed for connection to an earthed wall socket with a residual current operated device (RCD switch) at 230V 50Hz .
Connecting the Pressure Line
The pump is installed
- Either with a fixed pipeline
- Or with a flexible hose line.

-
Screw the bracket adapter (10) onto the pump outlet (3).
-
Fit the hose over the reducer (9) and secure it with a hose clamp. Or use a screw connection at the bracket adapter (10) or the reducer (9).
Outlet with a 1 12 internal thread on the pump for connection of the angle adapter (10) or for direct connection of a hose with a 1 12 external thread;
Outlet with 112 external thread at the bracket adapter (10) for connection of the reducer (9) or a 112 screw connection;
Outlet on reducer (9) for connection of a 1 14 or 1 12 hose as a compression joint (fixing with a hose clamp);
Outlet with 1" external thread at the reducer (9) for connection of a 1" screw connection;
Outlet with 1 12 thread at the reducer (9) for connection of a 1" hose as clamp connection (fixing with a hose clamp).

Note that the particle size may be max. 19mm if the reducer ( 19.3mm) is used, otherwise the reducer and hose can become blocked.
Adjustment of the float switch
The float switch (7) is adjusted so that it can be started up immediately. In the case of stationary installation, check regularly (no less then once every three months) that the float switch is working.
The ON and OFF switching point of the float switch can be adjusted by changing the position of the float switch in the float switch grating. Please check the following points before start of operation.
- The float switch must be attached so that the switching point ON level and the switching point OFF level can be reached easily and with little expenditure of energy. Check this by placing the pump into a vessel filled with water and lift the float switch carefully by hand and then lower it again. In this case, you can see whether the pump switches on and off.
- Also ensure that the separation distance between the float switch head and the float switch latching mechanism (8) is not too small. In the case of a separation distance which is too small, trouble-free functioning cannot be guaranteed.
- During the adjustment of the float switch, ensure that the float switch does not contact the floor before the pump switches off.

There is a risk of dry running if the float switch cable is selected to be too long
Operational start-up

-
Check that the pump is standing firmly on the bottom of the shaft or hung up safely.
-
Check whether the pressure line has been attached correctly and the unused pump outlet is fully closed.
- Avoid that the pump runs dry. Regularly check the function of the float switch. In case of non-observation or if the pump runs dry, guarantee and liability claims are invalidated.
- Check that the electrical connection is 230V 50Hz
- Check the proper status of the electrical plug socket and make sure that the plug socket is sufficiently fused (at least 6 A, RCD switch). Insert the pump plug into the plug socket and the pump is ready for operation.
Make sure that moisture or water never come in contact with the mains connection. There is a risk of electrocution.
Cleaning/Maintenance/Storage
Clean and maintain your equipment regularly. This will guarantee its performance and long durability.

Ask our service centre to carry out any work that is not described in these instructions. Use only original parts.
This will prevent damage to the equipment and any resulting personal injury.

Pull out the power plug before every maintenance operation. There is a risk of electrocution or of injury from moving parts.
General cleaning instructions
- In case of transport for utilization in different locations, the pump must be cleaned with clear water after every use.
- In case of stationary installation, the function of the float switch (7) is to be checked regularly (at the latest every three months).
- With a water jet, remove fluff and fibrous particles which are possibly present in the pump casing
- Regularly remove sludge from the pit base (at the latest every 3 months) and also clean the shaft walls
- Clean precipitation from the float switch with clear water,
- In the case of a long period of non-use, the pump must be thoroughly cleaned after the last use and before the new use, since difficulties in startup can arise due to precipitation and residues.
Cleaning the Fan Wheel
In case of soiling or blockage of the impeller, this can be cleaned via the pump outlet (3) or by removing the floor plate (4):

-
Unscrew the bracket adapter (10) from the pump outlet (3).
-
Remove the 3 screws on the bottom of the base (5) and take off the base plate (4).
-
Clean the fan wheel using clean water.
-
To re-assemble, reverse this order.
Any measures above and beyond these, particularly opening the equipment, are to be carried out by an electrician. In the case of repairs, always contact our service centre.
Storage
- Keep the equipment clean, dry, frost-free and out of the reach of children.
- Unscrew the bracket adapter (10) for storage.
Waste Disposal and Environmental Protection
Be environmentally friendly. Return the tool, accessories and packaging to a recycling centre when you have finished with them.

Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste, use separate collection facilities.
Hand over the device at an utilization location. The plastic and metal parts employed can be separated out and thus recycled use can be implemented. Ask our Service-Center for details.
Defective units returned to us will be disposed of for free.
Guarantee
- We grant a 24-month warranty for this appliance. Commercial use or continuous operation will invalidate the guarantee.
- Damage due to natural wear and tear, overload or incorrect use is excluded from the guarantee. Certain components are subject to normal wear and tear and are excluded from the guarantee. These include in particular: filters, attachments or seals provided that the claims are not traced back on material defects.
- In the case of pumping water containing sand or aggressive liquids or other incorrect, non-design-appropriate use, as well as in case of non-observation of the operating manual, application of force in use or inappropriate or insufficient maintenance, no guarantee claim exists, since seals, impeller wheel, motor or other parts are damaged by this. Also, sewage water pumps are not suitable for the pumping of abrasive materials (sand, stone).
Note: submersible pumps are drainage pumps. This kind of pump is constructed with the purpose of transporting or removing a certain volume of water - depending on its output category - as quickly as possible. Submersible pumps are not intended as irrigation (for example, in garden irrigation systems) or as constant water-flow pumps (such as in artificial streams or ornamental fountains). Inappropriate use will invalidate the
warranty.
- In particular, the guarantee is likewise void in the case of employment of the sewage water pumps without base plate or (this applies for all pumps) in case of damages which are caused by supporting on or suspending from the mains cable. The pumps must not be run dry or exposed to frost.
- Furthermore, the prerequisite for guarantee services is that the references indicated in the operating instructions regarding cleaning and maintenance have been adhered to.
- Damage, which has been caused from material or manufacturing faults, will be made good free of charge, by replacement delivery or repair.
This requires that the appliance is returned to our service center undismantled and with proof of purchase and guarantee.
Repair service
- Repairs, which are not covered by the guarantee, can be carried out for charge by our service center. Our service center will be glad to provide you with a cost estimate.
We can only process devices which have been packaged sufficiently and which have been dispatched with correct stamping.
Note: In case of complaint or service, please deliver your device cleaned, and with an indication of the defect, to our service address.
Devices sent in freight collect - by bulk freight, express or with other special freight - are not accepted.
Defective units returned to us will be disposed of for free.
