about the power supply

• Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the sup- ply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.

• Only connect the mains plug to the wall socket when the device is switched off.

Keep the power cord and the device itself away from heat, hot surfaces, damp and liquids. Avoid touching the plug or power switch with wet or even damp hands, or when you are standing in water.

If the device falls into water, do not try to pick it up. Instead pull the plug out immediately.

Disconnect the plug from the socket immediately after using the device.

Never pull on the power cord to disconnect the appliance from the mains. Always pull out the mains plug!

Do not carry, pull or rotate the device by its power cord.

• Ensure that the cable will not cause tripping. The cable must not be kinked, trapped or twisted. specific groups of people

• This device is not designed to be used by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities, or by persons with insufficient experience and/or knowledge, unless under observation by a person respon- sible for their safety, or unless they have been instructed in the use of the device.

Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.

Do not use this unit to supplement or replace medical treatment. Chronic complaints and symptoms may be made worse.

• You should refrain from using the Shiatsu massage seat cover MCN , or should consult your doctor before using it, if - you are pregnant, - you have a cardiac pacemaker, artificial joints or electronic implants, - you suffer from one or more of the following illnesses and complaints: Circulation disorders, Diabetes, Thromboses, varicose veins, open wounds, bruises, broken skin, inflammation of the veins.

If you experience any pain or discomfort during the massage, stop imme- diately and consult your doctor.

Never leave the unit unattended if it is connected to the power supply.

Take care when using the heater. Do not use if you have circulatory pro- blems or on areas not sensitive to heat. Risk of burning!

The surface of the appliance is hot. People who are insensitive to heat must be careful when using the appliance.

Consult your doctor if you have any questions concerning the therapeutic use of the Shiatsu massage seat cover.

1 Safety Instructions

Use of the massage device is prohibited in the following cases: - not on children, - not on animals, - never while you sleep, - not in the car, - not while ingesting substances that reduce reaction times (e.g. painkiller medications, alcohol). before using the unit The transport lock which is located on the rear of the backrest at the base, must be removed before the device is first used (see illustration at the front of the Instruction Manual).

2. Dispose of the screw properly. (2)

On no account should the screw be refitted. Such action could damage the device. (2)

Always carefully inspect the cable, the control unit and the Shiatsu massage seat cover for damage before use. Do not attempt to use a defective unit.

Do not use the unit if there are visible signs of damage on the unit or the cable components, the unit does not work properly or the seat or the control unit have been dropped or become damp. In order to prevent hazards, always send the unit in to the service centre.

The zip fastener on the back of the massage device must not be opened. It is only fitted for reasons relating to the manufacturing of the device. operating the unit

The Shiatsu massage seat cover must only be used for its intended purpose as described in the instruction manual.

Using the Shiatsu massage seat cover for any other purpose invalidates the warranty.

Never leave the unit unattended if it is connected to the power supply.

The maximum operating time for one session is 15 minutes. Allow it to cool off for at least 15 minutes before using it again.

Do not allow the Shiatsu massage seat cover to come into contact with pointed or sharp objects.

Never put the unit down next to an electric stove or other sources of heat.

Never use the Shiatsu massage seat cover if it is folded up or crumpled.

Never use the device under covers, such as blankets or pillows.

Operate the device in an upright position only, never place it flat on the floor.

Never sit or stand on the moving parts of the device with all your weight and do not place objects on the device. The device is only intended for household use and must not be used for commercial or medical purposes. If you have health concerns, consult your doctor before using the Shiatsu massage seat cover. The massage seat cover must only be used in enclosed spaces! Do not use the massage seat cover in damp rooms (e.g. when bathing or showering). maintenance and cleaning

The unit is maintenance free.

You may only clean the device yourself. If the device malfunctions please do not repair it yourself as this leads to the automatic expiry of all guarantee rights. Ask your specialist dealer and have repairs carried out by the service.

The device is equipped with an additional 3-level vibration function inthe seat and a heat function in the massage heads . The uniquecombination of intensive shiatsu and vibration massage with radiated heat makesthe massage seat cover an effective and relaxing treatment. Their settings canbe comfortably adjusted by means of the easy-to-handle control unit

What is Shiatsu massage?

The use of the shiatsu massage seat cover will improve your wellbeing after astressful day. The massage effect is particularly useful for treating tense musclesand tired tissue. The unit provides pleasant relaxation for overcoming everydaystress. The massaging can improve your well-being, and is also useful in thesport and fitness areas.Start-up The transport lock which is located on the rear of the backrest at the base,must be removed before the device is first used (see illustration at the frontof the Instruction Manual). Be sure to observe the safety information (see

chapter 1 Safety instruction, sub-heading before using the device and

the according illustration at the front of this Instruction Manual).• Place the massage seat coveron a high chair or armchair and attach it to thisby means of the fasteners on the back. Ensure that the seat cover is sup-ported over its entire area and has a sufficiently high backrest. Insert plug into the mains socket. Ensure that the power supply is easilyaccessible. Take a seat on the shiatsu massage seat cover and familiarise yourself withthe functions. Sit comfortably and upright. Ensure you sit centered and such that the mas-sage heads can move to the left and right of your spinal column.Operating the unit The MCN shiatsu seat cover has three functions for an effective massage: fingertip massage (Shiatsu massage), vibration massage and heat. The heatfunction can only be used together with the shiatsu massage in the back,during which the neck massage and the vibration massage in the seat can alsobe activated. Do not use the unit for more than 15 minutes at a time. Afterapprox. 15 minutes, the unit will switch off automatically. Always allow theunit to cool down fully before you use it again.Buttons on the control unitUse the buttons on control pad to operate the massage seat cover:Switch on the device by pressing On/Off button . The LED illuminates. Thedevice starts with standby mode. If no other button is pressed, the device turnsoff after 15 minutes automatically.Demo button You may activate demo function with or without pressing On/Off button before. Press the Demo button , the device starts automatically with intro-duction of different back setting with different functions. First massages in neck /shoulder and full back region are presented. The rota-ting back massage heads move from the entire bottom (start position) tothe entire top; the rotating neck massage heads move outwards. Simulta-neously heat in the back and vibration in the seat are activated, while intensi-ty of vibration is set on lowest level.

3 Operating Next this program is shown with reverse directions of rotation and middlevibration intensity level. Closing the demo program massage in the seat isactivated once more showing highest vibration intensity level. The LEDs schowthe current massage regions and functions. The device will stop once all func-tions worked.Neck button Switch on the device by pressing On/Off button

Neck button is for the neck/shoulder reversible kneading massage. Press thisbutton once, left massage head is kneading counterclockwise; right massagehead is kneading clockwise. Press it a second time, directions change. Pressbutton a third time, neck massage stops.Back buttons Switch on the device by pressing On/Off button

Select the region you wish to massage with the back massage button

Full button (full back)The Shiatsu massage heads move from the “Park” position at the base ofthe backrest, up to the shoulder area, massaging the back in a circular motionwhilst doing so. Once the uppermost position has been reached, the directionof rotation of the massaging heads is reversed. The heads then travel down tothe base of the backrest. Once the heads reach this point, the direction of rota-tion is reversed again and then travel up the back again.Upper button (upper back)The Shiatsu massage heads travel up and down the upper half of the backin a circular motion. The reversal of the direction of rotation takes place whenthe respective end positions are reached.Lower button (lower back)The Shiatsu massage heads travel up and down the lower half of the backin a circular motion. The reversal of the direction of rotation takes place whenthe respective end positions are reached.Heat button The heat function can be activated at any time with the shiatsu massage, dur-ing which the vibration massage can also be activated. Press the heat button to activate the function; the LED on the control unit and the massage headslight up red. The heat is radiated through the massage heads . Vibration button You can enhance the shiatsu massage at any time with a vibration massage foryour thighs by pressing the vibration massage button

The vibration massage in the upper thigh area can be operated separately.Switch on the device by pressing On/Off button

Press vibration massage button . The LED located above left illuminates andthe vibration massage motor is switched on. It begins with a gentlemassage. Press button again and the vibration level increases (mediumintensity massage). The LED located in the middle above illuminates. Press button a third time and the vibration level increases (highest intensity massage). TheLED located above right illuminates. After button is pressed a fourth time,the vibration massage is switched off and the LED extinguishes.Do not use the massage device for longer than 15 minutes and then allow it to cool. Using the device for longer can over-stimulate the muscles and cause tension instead of relaxation. The massage can be finished at any time by pressing the On/Off button.After each use, switch the device off using the On/Off button and remove the plug from the mains socket. Always store control unit in its bag

. The power LED begins to flash and the massage heads travel back down to the “Park” position. When this position is reached,the LED extinguishes. If you press the On/Off button while one of themassage functions is switched on, the massages in neck/shoulder and seat juststop immediately, including heat function. Cleaning and maintenance

• Before cleaning the device, make sure that it is turned off and the mains plugis removed from the socket. Allow the unit to cool down. Only clean the Shiatsu massage seat cover with a soft cloth slightly dampe-ned with a mild detergent (e.g. soap suds). Under no circumstances shouldyou use aggressive detergents, strong brushes, solvents, petrol, thinners alcohol.Rub the seat dry with a clean dry cloth. When cleaning, never immerse the unit in water and make sure that nowater gets into the unit.• For washing the cover of the neck massage heads open the zip fastener allaround it. Wash the cover in a normal wash at max. 30 °C and follow thenotes on the label!• Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again.• Undo any kinks in the cable.• You should ideally store the device in its original packaging and keep it ina clean, dry place.This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste.All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardlessof whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or commer-cial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentallyacceptable manner. Please contact your supplier or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is. The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years from date of

purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.

2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within

the warranty period.

3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the

unit or for the replacement parts.

4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non- observance of the user instructions. b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties. c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre. d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.

5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are
