How to use the PAN Voltfinder?

Turn on the device with the on/off button, place the sensor tip near the conductor to be tested. If an alternating voltage of 12 to 1000 V is present, the LED flashes and a beep sounds.

What is the detectable voltage range?

The tester detects alternating voltages from 12 V to 1000 V at 50/60 Hz.

Does the device work with direct current?

No, the PAN Voltfinder is designed only for alternating voltage (AC). It does not detect direct current.

How to change the batteries?

Unscrew the screw cap at the bottom of the device. Replace the two AAA 1.5 V batteries observing the indicated polarity, then close carefully.

What to do if the device does not turn on?

Check the battery condition. If they are depleted, replace them. If the problem persists, contact your retailer or after-sales service.

Is the device waterproof?

No, it must not be used outdoors or in a humid environment. Avoid any liquid ingress.

1. Introduction

Please read this operating manual carefully before using the device to become familiar with the proper handling of the device and to prevent faulty operations. 3. Safety Instructions

To ensure the safe use of the device, please follow all the safety and operating instructions given in this manual.

• The device must no longer be used if the housing is damaged, if a function fails, or if you suspect that something is wrong.
• If the safety of the user cannot be guaranteed, the device may not be operated and secured against use.
• Do not use the device outdoors, in humid surroundings or in environments that are subjected to extreme temperature fluctuations.
• Do not store the device in places which are exposed to direct sunlight.
• Remove the battery if the device is not used for a long time.
• If changes or modifications are made to the device, the operational safety is no longer guaranteed and the warranty becomes void.

7. Operating Instructions

Note: Before each measurement check the correct funktion at a known power source.

1. Switch on the device. (Button 2)
2. Place the probe tip close to the circuit to be tested.
3. If an AC voltage is applied on the object to be measured, the LED flashes in the top and a signal tone sounds. (12 V to 1000 V)

8. Maintenance

Only authorized service technicians may repair the instrument.

Changing the battery(s)

If the device does not respond during the function test replace the battery.

1. Unscrew the cap (5).
2. Replace the batteries. Mind the correct polarity.
3. Close the battery compartment again.
4. Disposal of the flat battery should meet environmental standards.

Cleaning

If the instrument is dirty after daily usage, it is advised to clean it by using a humid cloth and a mild household detergent. Prior to cleaning, ensure that instrument is switched off and disconnected from external voltage supply and any other instruments connected. Never use acid detergents or dissolvent for cleaning.

9. Guarantee and Spare Parts

PANCONTROL instruments are subject to strict quality control. However, should the instrument function improperly during daily use, your are protected by a 24 months warranty from the date of purchase (valid only with invoice).
