USER MANUAL Pappacalda casa CHICCO
Dear Customer, Thank you and congratulations on your purchase. Stay Warm Home Feeding Bottle Warmer allows you to prepare feeding bottles and blended food the ideal temperature for the child’s meal*, easily and in a few minutes. When the equipment reaches the correct temperature, it will emit two short beeps. The feeding bottle warmer is supplied with a practical support for warming up baby food jars. The particular technology used by the heating element allows you to reduce the consumption of power and prevent the equipment from overheating.

III. WARNINGS AND SAFETY MEASURES
- Before using the feeding bottle warmer, read carefully this instructions booklet and keep it for future reference.
- The equipment, accessories, and all packaging (such as plastic bags, cardboard boxes, etc.) are not toys: keep them out of children’s reach, as they could present a source of danger.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concern- ing use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Before connecting the plug to the socket, ensure that the voltage of the feeding bottle warmer (see the rated voltage plate on the equipment) corresponds to the voltage of your electric system.
- Before using the feeding bottle warmer, check that the product and all of its components are not damaged. Should any part be damaged, do not use the product and contact a qualifi ed technician or one of Artsana S.p.A.’s authorised retailers.
- This appliance has been designed for domestic use only. Do not use Stay Warm Home Feeding Bot- tle Warmer in any other way or for other purposes than that described in this instructions booklet; any other use should be considered improper and potentially dangerous.
- To disconnect the feeding bottle warmer, disconnect the plug from the mains socket.
- Ensure that the plug is always disconnected from the mains socket and that the feeding bottle GB8 warmer is completely cold before moving, storing or cleaning it, or before carrying out maintenance operations, or when not in use.
- Place the feeding bottle warmer only on fl at, stable surfaces, out of reach of children. Never place the equipment near cradles or cots, since, during use, the container and the water contained in it become very hot. Always use and handle the equipment with the maximum care! Danger of burns!
- Never place the feeding bottle warmer on top of, or near hot surfaces, gas rings or electric hot plates, or on delicate surfaces sensitive to heat and/or humidity.
- Never operate the feeding bottle warmer without water inside the heating chamber.
- Only use feeding bottles made of heat-resistant plastic or thermo-resistant glass: do not use dispos- able feeding bottles.
- Do not move the feeding bottle warmer during use or when it still contains hot liquids.
- After use, always allow the feeding bottle warmer cool down completely.
- When not in use, and before cleaning or storing the feeding bottle warmer, always disconnect the power cable’s plug from the mains socket, and let it cool down completely.
- Before feeding baby, always check the temperature of contents (it must not exceed 37°C).
- For hygiene and health reasons, feeding bottle warmers must only be used to warm up pre-cooked baby food, not to cook it. It is recommended to warm up food at 37°C. Never warm up food more than once, or for more than one hour.
- The fi nal temperature of the food and the heating time could vary according to the quantity of food being heated, the initial (room or fridge) temperature, the density of the food, the position of the temperature adjustment knob, as well as the type and size of feeding bottle used (plastic or glass feeding bottle, baby food jar). The use of any electrical equipment requires compliance with some fundamental rules. In particular:
- The electrical system of the room must always conform to the safety regulations in force.
- Ensure that the equipments’ voltage and frequency (see the rated voltage plate located underneath the equipment) correspond to the voltage and frequency of the mains.
- Plug the equipment to a mains socket that is easily accessible.
- Do not pull the mains cable or the appliance to unplug the equipment from the mains.
- The feeding bottle warmer must be used in compliance with the instructions supplied.
- Do not leave the feeding bottle warmer exposed to atmospheric agents (rain, sun, etc.).
- Do not submerge or wet the plug, feeding bottle warmer, or power cable in water or other liquids.
- Never touch the feeding bottle warmer with wet or damp hands.
- Do not touch the feeding bottle warmer if it has fallen accidentally in the water. Should this hap- pen, unplug the equipment immediately and do not use it; contact a qualifi ed technician or one of Artsana S.p.A.’s authorised retailers.
- If the feeding bottle warmer is damaged and / or not working correctly, switch it off and disconnect the plug from the mains socket; do not attempt to open the product, contact a qualifi ed technician or one of Artsana S.p.A.’s authorised retailers.
- Never leave the equipment unattended when in use.
- Do not leave the feeding bottle warmer switched on continuously for over 60 minutes.
- After one hour of continuous operation, the equipment must always be switched off and allowed to cool down.
- The feeding bottle warmer can be opened only with special tools. To replace the power cable, only use a cable similar to the cable supplied with the equipment. The cable must be replaced by a quali- fi ed technician or one of Artsana S.p.A.’s authorised retailers.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the feeding bottle warmer. If necessary, contact a qualifi ed techni-9 cian or one of Artsana S.p.A.’s authorised retailers.
- Incorrect repairs carried out by unqualifi ed technicians may cause damage or injuries to the user.
- Dispose of any packaging, worn accessories, and/or the equipment at an appropriate differentiated collection point, as required by the regulations in force in each country. This product is approved to EU 2002/96/EC Regulation. The crossed bin symbol shown on the equipment indicates that, at the end of its useful life, the product must be treated separately from domestic waste and disposed of at an appropriate differentiated collection point for electrical or electronic equipment, or de- livered to the retailer at the time of purchase of new, equivalent equipment. The user is responsible for disposing of, or delivering, the worn or damaged equipment to the appropriate collection points. The appropriate differentiated collection and subsequent recycling or treatment of the equipment disposed of, in compliance with environmental laws, helps to avoid possible negative effects on health and on the environment, and favours the recycling of the materials that the product is made of. For further information on the collection systems available, please contact your local waste disposal service, or your retailer.
IV. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
How to Prepare the Equipment: Always ensure that the power cable’s plug is disconnected from the mains socket. Pour some water into the heating chamber of the feeding bottle warmer, ensuring that it does not exceed the maxi- mum level (approximately 140ml) indicated by the two highest notches, located inside the chamber. Slowly insert the feeding bottle/baby food jar inside the chamber, making sure that the heating water does not spill out of the top of the equipment, and that it does not reach the upper rim of feeding bottles and/or baby food jars.
Warning: Never operate the equipment without water inside the chamber, or if the quantity of water
is below the minimum level (approximately 70ml) indicated by the two lowest notches, located inside the chamber.
HOW TO WARM UP FEEDING BOTTLES
- After preparing the feeding bottle warmer as described in the paragraph above, place the feeding bottle warmer on a fl at, stable surface and connect the plug to a mains socket.
- Select the feeding bottle warming mode, positioning the lever of the selector to the left, pointing to the icon “feeding bottle”. The red warning light will indicate that the equipment is warming up the feeding bottle.
- After a few minutes* of operation, the green warning light will switch on, and two short beeps will indicate the end of the warming up cycle.
- The heating time can vary a lot, depending on the type/size of the feeding bottle, and the type, quantity and initial temperature of the food inside the feeding bottle.
- To switch off the feeding bottle warmer at any time, move the cursor to the central position, and disconnect the power cable’s plug from the mains socket.
- Warning! Before feeding baby, it is recommended to:
- a) Dry the feeding bottle thoroughly.
- b) Shake the feeding bottle for a few seconds in order to homogenise the temperature of the food inside.
- c) Always check that the temperature of the food is not too hot before feeding baby (by pouring a few drops of liquid on the inner of part your wrist).10
- Warning: If the feeding bottle is left into the equipment for more than 15 minutes, the temperature of the food inside the feeding bottle may reach a temperature of over 50°C. Always check that the temperature of the food before feeding baby. HOW TO WARM UP BABY FOOD JARS
- Repeat the operations indicated at the beginning of the “How to Prepare the Equipment” para- graph.
- Insert the specifi c baby food jar support into the chamber (if it is not already present).
- Remove the lid and any labels from the baby food jar. Lift the baby food jar support and, after insert- ing the jar, place the support inside the feeding bottle warmer. Ensure that the level of the water contained in the chamber does not exceed the upper rim of the jar, and that it does not spill out of the rim of the feeding bottle warmer.
- Place the feeding bottle warmer onto a fl at, stable surface, and connect the plug to a mains socket.
- Select the baby food jar warming mode, positioning the lever of the selector to the right, pointing to the icon “baby food jar”. The red warning light will indicate that the equipment is warming up the jar.
- After approximately 5 minutes, check the temperature of the food inside in the jar. If the food is at the correct temperature, switch off the feeding bottle warmer, turning the ever of the selector to the central position. If the temperature is still too cold, continue the warming up cycle, taking care to check often the temperature of the blended food. When the equipment emits two short beeps, the red warning light switches off and the green warning light switches on the warming cycle is ended.
- Warning: The feeding bottle warmer must always be switched off and allowed to cool down one hour of continuous operation.
- Warning: when the baby food jar warming mode is selected, the temperature of the food inside the jar may reach a very high temperature (even higher than 70°C). Always check that the temperature of the food before feeding baby.
- To switch off the feeding bottle warmer at any time, move the selector lever to the central position, and disconnect the power cable’s plug from the mains socket.
- Warning: During the warming up cycle, it is recommended to often stir the jar’s content, in order to homogenise the temperature.
- Warning: Before feeding baby, it is recommended to:
- a) Dry the baby food jar thoroughly.
- b) Stir the jar’s content for a few seconds, in order to homogenise the food temperature
- c) Always check that the temperature of the food is not too hot before feeding baby (by pouring a few drops of liquid on the inner of part your wrist).
- To remove the jar from the chamber more easily, use the specifi c baby food jar support.
- Always let the feeding bottle warmer cool down completely before starting a new warming cycle. BEFORE FEEDING BABY, ALWAYS CHECK THE TEMPERATURE OF THE WARMED UP FOOD.
- Disconnect the power cable’s plug of the feeding bottle warmer from the mains socket. Allow the feeding bottle warmer to cool down completely. Remove any residual water from the chamber, then dry the feeding bottle warmer thoroughly, and store it in a clean, dry place.11
- Never place the feeding bottle warmer directly under tap water; do not submerge the equipment, plug or power cable in water or other liquids.
- Never clean the feeding bottle warmer in a dishwasher.
- Clean the external parts of the feeding bottle warmer with a damp cloth.
- The normal use of the equipment could cause the formation of scale residues in the heating cham- ber, which could reduce the performance of the equipment and even damage it over time. To remove the scale residues from the bottom of the chamber, ensure that the feeding bottle warmer has completely cooled down; pour a solution of water and white vinegar inside the chamber and leave overnight. Then rinse thoroughly, and carry out a warming up cycle without placing any feeding bottles or baby food jars inside the equipment. Warning: Never switch on the feeding bottle warmer when the chamber contains a solution of water and vinegar. After carrying out the descaling cycle, rinse the inside of the chamber thoroughly. Then pour 140 ml of water into the chamber and carry out a warming up cycle without placing any feeding bottles or baby food jars inside the equipment. When the green warning light lights up, switch off the equipment, and let it cool down completely. Remove any residues of water and dry thoroughly.
- It is recommended to remove any scale residues at least once a week, or more frequently if the water is particularly rich in calcium.
- Do not use tools, abrasive sponges, or solvents to clean the equipment: it may damage the feeding bottle warmer and/or its accessories.
