IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. READ CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

CAUTION! HOT STEAM!
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. - Regularly check the power plug and power cord for damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a danger or injury.
- Warning! During cleaning or operation do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.
- Danger of burns! Do not touch hot surfaces and beware of escaping steam. Hold the appliance by its handle only.
- Caution! Ensure that the kettle is switched off before removing it from its stand.
- Do not open the lid while water is boiling.

Only use this appliance for its intended use. The appliance is not suitable for commercial use. This appliance is only suitable for indoor and household use.

- Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the power supply voltage and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown on the appliance rating label.
- Never use a damaged appliance! Disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet and contact your supplier if it is damaged.
- To avoid damaging to the power cord, do not squeeze, bend or rub it on sharp edges. Keep it away from hot surfaces and open flames as well.
- Place the cord in such a way that no unintentional pulling or tripping over it is possible.
- If an extension cord is used, its capacity needs to be suitable for the power consumed by the appliance.
- Do not operate the appliance with wet hands or while standing on a wet floor. Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
- Keep the appliance away from any hot surfaces and open flames. Protect the appliance against heat and cold, dust, direct sunlight, moisture, dripping and splashing water.
- Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.
- Connect the power plug to an easily reachable electrical outlet so that in case of an emergency the appliance can be unplugged immediately. Pull the power plug out of the electrical outlet to completely switch off the appliance. Use the power plug as the disconnection device.
- Disconnect the power plug from the electrical outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
- Place the appliance on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface.
- Danger of electric shock! Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.
- Do not overfill the water tank (fill up to MAX marking) to avoid boiling water from spilling.
- Fill the water tank only with fresh, cold water.
Extreme caution is necessary when moving any appliance containing hot water. - Only use the water kettle with the stand provided. Do not use the stand for any other purpose.
- Never switch the water kettle on with an empty water tank.
- The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

INTENDED USE
This appliance is only intended for boiling water. Do not use it for other purposes or to boil other liquids. Every other type of use can lead to damage to the appliance or injury.

BEFORE FIRST TIME USE
- Fill the water kettle with fresh water up to the MAX marking and boil the water 2-3 times. Discard the water after each cycle. This is to remove any residues remaining from the manufacturing process.
- Due to the manufacturing process, the appliance may emit a slight burning odour when switched on for the first time. This is normal and does not indicate any defect or hazard.

Connect the power plug to a suitable electrical outlet.

Remove the water kettle from the stand.

Open the lid and fill the water kettle with fresh water (min 0.5 L / max 1 L).

Do not exceed the MAX marking.

Close the lid. Place the water kettle on the stand.
Make sure the stand is placed on a level surface.

Set the on/off switch to the I position to switch the water kettle on.
The power indicator lights up red.
HINTS
- You can manually stop the boiling process at any time by setting the on/off switch to the 0 position.
- Ensure 15-20 second intervals between boiling cycles.

OPERATION

The water kettle switches off automatically once the water has been boiled. The on/off switch pops up to the 0 position and power indicator goes off.

After use:
Unplug the appliance.
CAUTION
- Do not open the lid when steam is emitted from the spout.
Extreme caution is necessary when moving any appliance containing hot water.
CLEANING AND CARE
WARNING! Before cleaning, make sure to switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the electrical outlet and let it cool completely.
WARNING! Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Clean the appliance with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Make sure that no moisture is entering the appliance during cleaning.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp implements to clean your appliance.
- Dry the appliance thoroughly after cleaning.
- Store the appliance in a cool, dry location, away from children and pets.
- Wind the power cord around the cord storage underneath the stand.

Cleaning the filter
Pull the filter out of the spout.
- Rinse the filter with warm water and gently remove any scale with a soft brush.
- Re-insert the filter in its original location by pressing it down into the spout. It only fits one way.
DESCALING
HINT
Descale the water kettle regularly. The intervals depend mainly on water hardness and the frequency of use. Only use commercially available descaling agents and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- Fill the water tank with water and appropriate amount of descaling agent up to the MAX marking on the water level indicator.
Start the boiling process.
After boiling, dispose of the solution of water and descending agent properly. - Do not pour the mixture of water and decalcifying agent into enameled water basins. Do not use the same mixture a second time. If the result should not be satisfactory, repeat these steps.
- Residues of the descending agent can affect the water taste. Let the water kettle complete 2 or 3 boiling cycles with clear water to remove all residues.
