- All Maxi-Cosi products have been carefully designed and tested for your baby’s safety and comfort. Use only accessories sold or approved by Maxi-Cosi. Using other accessories may prove to be dangerous.
- You are personally responsible for the safety of your child at all times, please read these instructions carefully and make yourself familiar with the product before using it.
- Always keep the instructions for future reference; there is a storage compartment specifically provided on the child seat.
- The AxissFix is intended for car use only.
- Do not use second-hand products whose history is unknown. Some parts could be broken, torn or missing.
- Replace the AxissFix when it has been subject of violent stresses in an accident: it is not optimal safety for your child.
Do not make any changes to the car seat whatsoever, as this could lead to unsafe situations. The AxissFix car seat in the car:
- Before buying this product make sure the car seat is compatible with the vehicle it is to be used in.
- Before using the ISOFIX anchorage system, you must IMPERATIVELY read the instruction manual of the vehicle, before installing your child car seat. This manual will indicate the places compatible with the class size of the car seat, I-size Universal Isofix approved.
- I-size Universal Isofix in rearward facing position, class size D
- I-size Universal Isofix in forward facing position, class size B1
- Before installing your child car seat with the Isofix anchorages system you must read the instruction manual of the vehicule. This manual will indicate the places compatibles with the class size of the car seats.
- Make sure the fold-down rear seat is locked into position.
- Install the AxissFix in a rearward-facing position when your child is between 61 up to 87 cm length.
- You may install the AxissFix in a forward-facing position when your child is from 76 up to 105 cm lenght (older than 15 months). The maximum occupant mass for which the carseat is intended is 19 kg.
- Make sure that any luggage and other objects liable to cause injuries in the event of a collision shall be properly secure.
- Always cover the AxissFix when exposed to direct sunlight in the car. Otherwise, the cover, metal and plastic parts could become too hot for your child’s skin.
- Make sure the straps holding the carseat to the vehicle should be tight.
When the car seat is installed on the front passenger seat, you must switch off the front passenger airbag if your child is sitting in a rearward-facing position.
When the car seat is installed on the front passenger seat, we recommand to switch off the front passenger airbag if your child is sitting in a front-facing position and place the passenger seat in the rearmost position. Baby in the AxissFix car seat :
- Never leave your child unattended.
- For your own safety and the one of your child always put the child in the car seat and fasten him however short your journey may be.
- Always secure your child with the 5-point harness. Ensure that the lap straps is worn low down, so that the pelvis is firmly engaged, shall be stressed.
- Ater putting the child in the car seat, ensure that the harness is sufficiently taught by pulling the belt. Before every use, make sure the harness is not damaged or twisted.
- Make sure you can fit no more than one finger between the harnesses and your child (1cm). If there is more space than 1 cm, tighten the harness belt further.
- Check to make sure the headrest is adjusted to the proper height.
- Do not use the child restraint device without the cover. Do not replace the seat cover with any other than the one recommended by the manufacturer, because it will have a direct effect on the functioning of the car seat.
- The temperature inside a vehicle may become very high, particularly after a long period of exposure to the sun. It is strongly recommended, under such conditions, to cover the seat of the car with a piece of material or something equivalent to prevent the harness fixings, and in particular the metal parts, from becoming hot and burning the child.
The Axissfix must be used rearward facing until your child is over 15 months or measure more than 87 cm. 57(
Never combine two ISOFIX anchorage and car seat belt systems to install your child car seat. ATTENTION: In ISOFIX use the fitting clips for lower anchorage to the vehicle is not sufficient. It is essential to fix the “TOP TETHER” to the upper anchorage point recommended by the car manufacturer. Fitting the AxissFix seat with additional tethers using the vehicle’s ISOFIX additional anchorage points. The ISOFIX anchors have been developed to obtain a safe and easy fixation of the child safety systems inside the car. Not all cars are equipped with these anchors although they are standard on more recent models. Consult the attached list of cars for which the car seat can be installed correctly (you can also consult additional updates of this list on the website www.maxi-cosi.com)
- In rear-facing position (61-87 cm), this product must not be installed to places equipped with a frontal air bag. You might be able to deactivate it (see your car manual). In this case, if you can deactivate the air bag, you can use the car seat on the front seat.
- In forward facing position (76-105 cm), the seat must be placed on the car rear seat or exceptionally on the front seat in accordance with the legislation in force in the country of use (In France: in accordance with the conditions stipulated in decree n° 91-1321 du 27-12-1991). If you use the AxissFix on the front seat, it should be possible to deactivate the airbag of the seat in question or move the passenger seat back to a maximum (Please consult your car manual).
- When installing the seat in the rear-facing position, the belt of the TOP TETHER can turn one quarter turn according to the position of the anchorage point. This does not impair the proper operation of the product.
- When installing the car seat, it is necessary to remove the headrest in order to put the TOP TETHER through correctly.
- Warning: when installing the car seat, spaces between the base of the car seat and the vehicle seat are possible depending on the position of the anchorage points within the vehicle.
- It is essential that the car seat be replaced after an accident.
- The user must always check that any luggage and other objects likely to cause injury to the occupant of the car seat in the case of impact are properly secured.
- The rigid parts and the plastic sections of a child restraint device should be positioned and installed in such a way that they cannot, when the vehicle is being used under normal conditions, become trapped under a moving seat or in the vehicle door.
- Never modify the construction or the materials of the car seat and the seat belt without consulting the manufacturer.
- Do not use the child restraint device without the cover. Do not replace the seat cover with a cover other than that recommended by the manufacturer, because it will have a direct
effect on the functioning of the child restraint.
- This child restraint is effective only if the instructions for use are respected.
- Always fasten the child restraint even when the child is not sitting in it.
- Never place heavy objects on the rear parcel shelf, to avoid the danger of projectiles in the event of an accident.
- Always check that no part of the seat or the harness is trapped under a seat or in the vehicle door.
- Folding seats must always be locked in place.
- If in any doubt about the correct installation or use of the system, the user is advised to contact the distributor or the manufacturer of the child restraining device system. Care Fabric:
- The cover and the shoulder pads can be removed for washing. If the cover needs to be replaced at any time, only use official Maxi-Cosi cover because it constitute an integral part of the restraint performance.
- Before cleaning check the label sewn into the different part of the fabric, you will find the wash symbols indicating the method of washing each item.
- Keep the car seat clean. Do not use lubricants or aggressive cleaning agents. Shell:
- Clean the shell using a damp cloth. Environment Keep plastic covering away from children to avoid suffocation. For environmental reasons, when you have stopped using this product, we ask that you dispose of the product in the proper waste facilities in accordance with local legislation. Warranty Our 24 months warranty reflects our confidence in the high quality of our design, engineering, production and product performance. We confirm that this product was manufactured in accordance with the current European safety requirements and quality standards which are applicable to this product, and that this product is free from defects on materials and workmanship at the time of purchase. 59(
Our 24 months warranty covers all manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when used in normal conditions and in accordance with our user manual. To request repairs or spare parts under warranty for defects in materials and workmanship you must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceding the service request. Our 24 months warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, abusive use, negligence or the consequence of failing to comply with the user manual. Examples of normal wear and tear include wheels and fabric worn down by regular use and the natural breakdown of colours and materials over extended period of time and use. What to do in case of defects: Should problems or defects arise, your first point of contact is your Maxi-Cosi dealer or retailer. Our 24 months Warranty is recognized by them (1) . You must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceeding the service request. It is easiest if you get your service request pre-approved by Maxi-Cosi Service. In principle, we pay for shipment and for return freight connected to service requests under the warranty. Damage not covered by our warranty or on products outside of warranty can be handled at a reasonable fee. This Warranty is in compliance with to European Directive 99/44/EG of 25 May 1999. (1) Products purchased from retailers or dealers that remove or change labels or identification numbers are considered unauthorized. Products purchased from unauthorized retailers are also considered unauthorized. No warranty applies to these products since the authenticity of these products cannot be ascertained. 60(
