Frequently Asked Questions - Protector CASUALPLAY

How to install the Protector seat in the car?
Place the seat on the vehicle seat, facing forward. Pass the three-point safety belt through the belt guides of the armrest (upper side) and under the armrests (abdominal part). Buckle the belt and check that it is tight. See illustrations 05 to 11 in the manual.
What is the recommended weight and age for this seat?
The seat is designed for children from 15 to 36 kg (group 2/3). There is no strict age limit, but it is suitable for children who weigh at least 15 kg and can sit up independently.
How to adjust the headrest height?
Press the push button located at the back of the headrest (fig. 13) and pull up or push down to adjust the height. The diagonal belt should pass at the child's chest level, never at the neck.
How to adjust the seat base?
Turn the position selector on the handle to the left (fig. 15) and slide the base to lengthen or shorten it according to the child's leg length (fig. 16). The base should support the thighs without pressing on the calves.
How to recline the backrest?
Turn the position selector on the handle to the right (fig. 17) and use the handle to recline the backrest forward or backward (fig. 18). This allows the child to sleep more comfortably.
Can I wash the seat cover?
Yes, the cover is machine washable at a maximum of 30°C, without spin. You can also hand wash it with warm water and mild soap. Do not use chemical cleaners or a dryer.
Is this seat compatible with all vehicles?
The seat is universal (standard UN/ECE R44/04). It is compatible with most vehicles equipped with approved three-point belts. Check your vehicle's manual to see if a seat position allows installation of a universal child seat.
What to do after an accident?
The seat must be replaced after an accident, even if it shows no visible damage. The stresses may have altered its structure and protective capacity.
Can I use the seat without the backrest?
No, the seat must always be used with the backrest. The Protector has been approved as a complete unit. Using the seat without the backrest compromises the child's safety.
How to disassemble the Protector?
To separate the backrest from the seat, press the button located at the back of the lower part of the backrest (fig. 19-20) and pull upward. The backrest detaches from the base.

WARNING AND SAFETY NOTES

THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL SHOULD BE KEPT INSIDE THE PROTECTOR WHILE IT IS IN USE.

  • The PROTECTOR is a child seat belonging to Group 2 - 3 (15 - 36 kg).
  • This seat can only be installed facing forwards using a three-point seatbelt fitted in the actual automobile, complying with UN/ECE-16 regulations or equivalent standards.
  • The PROTECTOR is not designed for domestic use. It can only be used in a vehicle.

  • Never use the seat without fastening the harness correctly or without securing it with the car seatbelt.
  • The original equipment must not be altered.
After an accident the seat must be changed.
  • Make sure that the folding seat or the doors of the vehicle can not cause damage to any elements of the seat.
  • In direct sunlight the inside of the vehicle can reach very high temperatures, therefore it is advisable to cover the seat when not in use to avoid the child suffering possible burns.
  • The straps should never be twisted.
Always use the seat, even on short journeys and never leave the child unattended.
  • In the case of an emergency it is important that the child can be unfastened quickly, therefore the buckle must never be covered up. It is advisable to teach the child that he must never play with the buckle.
  • Remove the seat from the vehicle if it is not going to be used for a while.
  • It is advisable to secure luggage and objects that may cause injury in the case of a crash.

  • We guarantee the safety of the product when it is used by the original buyer, do not use second-hand safety seats or devices.

  • The other passengers in the vehicle must also be fastened in with seatbelts as in the case of an accident they may be flung about and injure the baby.
  • Do not use the seat without upholstery or with one different from the original.
  • Regularly check the buckle, harness and other elements that may have become distorted or deteriorated with use.
  • The upholstery should be hand washed, using mild soap and warm water; or machine washed at a maximum temperature of 30^ and WITHOUT SPINNING. Do not use chemical cleaners (dry-cleaning).
  • Make sure that the upholstery of the vehicle seat does not make it difficult to tighten the seatbelt or the harness of the seat.
