USER MANUAL KHM400 Koenic
- This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
- This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Danger of electric shock! Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only.
- Regularly check the power plug and power cord for damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a danger or injury.
- Warning! During cleaning or operation do not immerse the electrical parts of the appliance in water or other liquids. Never hold the appliance under running water.

Safety instructions
- Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the power supply voltage and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown on the appliance rating label.
- Never use a damaged appliance! Disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet and contact your supplier if it is damaged.
- To avoid damaging to the power cord, do not squeeze, bend or rub it on sharp edges. Keep it away from hot surfaces and open flames as well.
- Place the cord in such a way that no unintentional pulling or tripping over it is possible.
- If an extension cord is used, its capacity needs to be suitable for the power consumed by the appliance.
- Do not operate the appliance with wet hands or while standing on a wet floor. Do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
- Do not open the appliance casing under any circumstances. Do not insert any foreign objects into the inside of the casing.
- Do not place heavy objects on top of the appliance. Do not place objects with open flames, e.g. candles, beside the appliance. Do not place objects filled with water, e.g. vases, near the appliance.
- Keep the appliance away from any hot surfaces and open flames. Protect the appliance against heat and cold, dust, direct sunlight, moisture, dripping and splashing water.
- Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.

Connect the power plug to an easily reachable electrical outlet so that in case of an emergency the appliance can be unplugged immediately. Pull the power plug out of the electrical outlet to completely switch off the appliance. Use the power plug as the disconnection device.

For additional protection, we recommend the use of a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current not exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit supplying power to your appliance. The installation should be done by an experienced electrician.
- Should the appliance fall into water, unplug the power plug first before reaching into the water.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended, if it is in use or the power plug is connected to an electrical outlet.
- Never add ingredients to the container while the mixer is operating.
- The appliance is suitable for a short time operation only. After an operation time of 5 minutes let it cool down before next use. In turbo mode the operation time must not exceed 1 minute. Do not overload the appliance.
- Never let the mixer face towards anybody while operating the appliance.
- Avoid contacting moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, as well as spatulas and other utensils away from attachments during operation to reduce risk of injury to persons, and/or damage to the mixer.
- Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply, if it is left unattended and prior to assembling, disassembling or cleaning.

This appliance is designed for mixing and kneading ingredients, such as flour, cream, butter, eggs etc. This appliance is only suitable for private household use and it is not designed for commercial purpose. Every other type of use can lead to damage to the appliance or injury.

- Remove all packaging materials.
- Check for completeness and transport damage. In case of damages or incomplete delivery please contact your dealer.

Attention
Always ensure the appliance is disconnected from the power supply before it is fully and correctly assembled!
Do not exceed the maximum operation time of 5 minutes in order to avoid overloading of the appliance.
In Turbo mode, the operation time must not exceed 1 minute.

1 Selecting attachments: Select desired attachments before use.

2 Mixing: Attach both beaters to the receptacles. Make sure they are well attached.
3 Kneading: Attach both kneading hooks to the receptacles.
4 Set the speed switch to the 0 position. Connect the power plug to a suitable electrical outlet.
Lower the attachments into the ingredients to be processed.
Switching on: Use the speed switch. The speed can be adjusted from 1 to 5 according to the ingredients to be mixed.

7 Slide the Turbo switch backward anytime to reach the maximum speed.
Switching off: Set the speed switch to the 0 position.
9 Unplug the appliance.
10 Press the eject button to release the attachments. Now pull the attachments out of their receptacles for cleaning.
Hints
- For best results use deep but narrow mixing containers.
Operation speed depends on the amount and consistency of the food to be mixed, as well as on the form and size of the container. - When mixing liquids use a tall container or mix small quantities at a time to reduce spillage.
- Never add ingredients to container while appliance is operating.
Always start mixing at a low speed, and then gradually increase it.
Cleaning and care

Warning
Before cleaning, make sure to switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the electrical outlet and let it cool completely.
11 Cleaning the motor unit: Use a soft, slightly damp cloth.

Warning
Make sure that no moisture is entering the appliance during cleaning.
Never immerse the motor unit in water or other liquids.
Never hold the appliance under running water.

Cleaning the beaters and dough
hooks: Use warm water and a mild cleaning agent. Rinse them thoroughly after cleaning and dry. The attachments are dishwasher safe.
- Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp implements to clean your appliance.
Dry the appliance thoroughly after cleaning. - Store the appliance in a cool, dry location, away from children and pets.
Disposal

electronic equipment may contain dangerous and hazardous substances. Do not dispose of this appliance as unsorted municipal waste.
